Faction Edge of Eternity: An Ascendant Story

Strength till the End

BannerTest2.png

Eternity calls to you...
After seven years of hardship, turmoil, and struggle, the newly christened ASCENDANCY stands proud in the southern reaches of the galaxy. Now secure in its own borders, the people of VERUN turn their eyes to the stars once more. No longer do they fear the remnants of the mighty Khanate. The Ascendancy is poised to become the dominant power in the Shiraya Expanse without question. They need but reach out and take it.

Appointed on the seventh Anniversary of Landing, Primarch KYYRK VERROS has been dispatched with a team to the ancient world of BELSAVIS. Following the guidance of an ancient relic uncovered in the deserts of Verun, Kyyrk believes the object is calling them to an ancient structure that even he only knows by rumor: THE ETERNITY VAULT. Once a great prison for the mighty Rakatan Warlord SOA, the structure has lain dormant for ages. Yet it is not without its dangers. The Vault holds many secrets, and among them many prisoners. This structure was once home to those that even the ruthless INFINITE EMPIRE deemed dangerous.

But scholars have long thought the Vault to be more than just a prison. Speculation of weapons, armor, and wealth beyond your wildest dreams have always haunted the Vault. And now, with the relic, there may be a chance to uncover yet more of the secrets hidden beneath the surface. Such is an opportunity that the Ascendancy cannot overlook. Be you a loyal supporter of the cause, an Adept of the Force seeking answers to questions long forgotten, or a soul of avarice tempted by the possibility of coin and plunder. The Vault welcomes all. Eternity calls to you, Traveler. Beware. For not all is as it seems.

The Eternity Vault. As Kyyrk stood before it, looking up at the huge stone structure, it was hard not to feel...insignificant. The vault had stood the test of time. It had already existed for thousands of years by the time the Republic and Empire discovered it, and now it stood before him as proof that it had stood for thousands more. Within the imposing gates lie a great shaft where once were millions of stasis pods. These were now dormant and defunct, having been picked clean by millennia of scavengers. Further in, the caves once claimed by the mighty Gharj.

Beyond this, the clearing in which the team now found themselves. And here, they had camped for the night. The morning sun shone bright down upon them, as movement grew more frequent around the camp. Kyyrk had not slept through the night, instead choosing to join those holding vigil throughout the night. Though he was knowledgeable about the Rakata, Kyyrk had insisted upon bringing a team of skilled archaeologists. Their safety was the sole task of the combat capable individuals that accompanied him.

The courtyard in which the party rest was quite large. By rough guess, at least two miles in diameter. Having detected no signs of beast or being within the cave system, the camp had been established at the mouth. Calling a meeting of all present members, Kyyrk had briefed them on what to expect within the courtyard. Wildlife was still quite common, and packs of roving Nexu were not unheard of. But to the north of the great courtyard lie something that was once even more dangerous. An ancient lock that sealed the entrance to the Vault of Soa. Now believed to be defunct, it would be of no danger to the party. And yet, it served as the greatest landmark from which to continue their search.

Kyyrk turned back to the camp below, slowly picking his way down the rocks to rejoin the waking camp. Kyyrk stopped by his pack, and grabbed a bottle of water, taking a quick sip. The camp was already being broken down in preparation for the move to the entrance of the vault. The marching orders were clear: Combatants on the outside, civilians within. Kyyrk was taking no chances with the wellbeing of his wards. As he shouldered his pack, he called out, "Those ready to march, gather in the clearing below the ridge. And watch your step, this place was a geothermal hotbed a long time ago, and I don't want to assume things have gotten better!"

Aliza, was lurking about. To be honest, she was kind of looking forward to seeing what was held within the ancient vaults. The young woman's hair was in a single simple braid down her back, so it would stay out of the way in combat, she wore her normal dark affair of clothing, not quiet black, but greys and dark browns that might as well be for the visibility they imparted within shadows. She also wore a heavy woolen cloak that broke up her outline, on her right thigh rode a blaster pistol, and on her left a cable thrower/retracter with pinons on the end of the cables. She also for once wore her lightsaber, concealed at the small of her back within a mag sealed pouch, it was but the work of a moment to call it to her palm if need be. Otherwise the woman seemed fairly calm, even in the face of a cavern similar to the one she'd explored with Kyyrk before. Twisting a finger through one silvery lock she moved forward with the others offering a nod and a smile to any familiar faces before taking her place at the edge of the group as Kyyrk called for them to move out.

As they moved, Aliza looked around for any nefarious creatures that might be watching from the shadows, and even checked her footing and path forward every five steps or so to ensure she didn't meet an untimely, and steam broiled end. Beyond that however she was also checking out the other escorts for this little trip curiously, hoping for sight of people she'd already met. Of course even if that didn't hold, she was sure she'd make a freind or two. She'd noticed that the Ascendancy didn't seem to care about the Sith/Jedi dynamic so much, which seemed immenitely sensible to her and a bit of a relief as well, since she didn't expect her secret to hold forever, particularly if she was pressed in combat.

An adventure through the crypt of a being long forgotten, whose empire had nearly been lost to history as well. She was curious to learn more about what was within and what secrets in the Force the Rakatan Empire once knew, maybe an explanation why they lost their connection to the Force before their empire crumbled. Dreidi had a lot of questions and curiosity building inside her. She also wanted to give a go at exploration of the surrounding planets as well, help the Ascendency grow and expand in their small region of the galaxy. Dreidi was focused on proving herself within the group as well as helping her new home grow to be even stronger than the CIS had been.

Camping was not her favourite thing, she was use to her own place and having a decent bathroom but she was not unaccustomed to the camping style, when they were building their city. Things were a lot rougher living than they were now so she was able to cope. Just not her preferred way of living anymore. She rather enjoy the comforts of living in buildings than the wilderness. Looking around, she noted the company that she was keeping, Primarch Kyyrk, she wasn't entirely sure what the titles and ranks meant at the moment, she had been keeping away from all that. Her interests did not lie in politics or gaining political ranks, she had seen Asaraa and others deal with that side of things and knew that her father dealt with a great amount of burden as Grand Master to know for now, she did not want to even attempt approaching that angle. There was too much for her to learn and understand in the Force and in combat for her to take on political training as well. Especially since it would be eating away at her free time for her hobbies, which were already very limited.

Standing, she had noted that Kyyrk was not resting, unsure if that would be wise. She knew that there were reasons a body required rest and that if you didn't then you risked not being at your optimal. Though Dreidi hadn't rested much either, she was bubbling with too much energy to settle her mind for any sleep. Looking around, she was curious to see how things would go moving forward. She was curious the defences and traps that could have been set in place to stop people plundering. Her Lightsaber was clipped to her hip, it was the only weapon she carried though she also had the Force and Magick if needed.

So many years spent toiling around in the sand had left Telula a little stir crazy. Even with all of he madness that had occurred over the years, the changes, the uprising of the Ascendency, the blonde witch had hungered for something more. The need for something more scholastic, perhaps? She had always exceled when it came to learning, studying, and discovering things after all, and being a grown young woman now had not changed that too awful much. So when the chance arose to strike out and do exactly that? Lula had not hesitated to put a hand in.

Night in the camp had not disturbed what little sleep Lula had managed to gain. It wasn't the background noise of chatter that kept waking her, but the ever welling anticipation in her belly as the hours drew by. It had been a long time since she had actually been excited to get out and do something, to explore and possibly discover things. So by morning, she was up early, just as the sun had begun to rise. Kai, the ever diligent Galek Hound by her side, was not thrilled by his partner's lack of sleep, but he was up as well, mulling about by her side as Lula broke down her place of sleep and packed it all away.

By the time the entirety of the camp was called out to, the witch was already packed and ready to move out. She did pause and give a look around, making sure she had everything that was needed and that no one in the immediate vicinity of her needed assistance, and then she moved out. She and Kai would be on the outer edges of the civilians, ready to defend if (and most likely when) the need arose. But for now, the pair made their way towards the clearing as they were instructed...more mindfully so rather suddenly, considering the warning that was issued with the order to gather.

Damian had posted up opposite from Kyyrk in a defensive position. His suit's natural suite of sensors would allow most things to be detected automatically, and whatever they didn't get, he was sure the voice in his head would warn him about. In between talking his ear off. He'd spent most of the night in a haze, physically sleeping but his body was only lightly so. At the slightest sound he would immediately be fully awake, and his mind sharp. However to give the appearance of pulling watch, he'd fallen asleep in the prone position. His arm creaked as he began to move, popping a little bit as he slowly stood.

This assignment had been given to him as a test. His Dominus had deemed it appropriate that he undertake a mission of importance to prove his worth as the leader of the Legion. And while the voice in his head had essentially cried out in anguish at the thought of babysitting, Damian had readily accepted with zero qualms or hesitation. He lived to serve. If he was to safeguard the rest of the group of civilians in service to The Ascendency, then that was his duty.

Damian would turn towards the group as he walked calmly back to them. The robe like portions of his armor served the purpose of breaking up his profile in the prone and in close quarters combat, however now they would occasionally part to reveal other weapons on Damian's person. Thanks to the functionality of that armor, Damian had been able to pack extremely light. The robes doubled as a warm cover in a pinch, but he didn't even need that right now as their surroundings hadn't been that hostile. So far at least. It had been another quiet night, which Damian hoped was a good sign moving forward. Babysitting duty wasn't difficult because of who you had to fight, it was difficult because you had to account for and protect unknown quantities. They could scatter like leaves in the wind, which would make them more difficult to protect. To that end, Damian was thankful they had a small entourage to escort them. More eyes meant better awareness, more weapons in hand meant better coverage. He would clip his rifle to his back as walked to the camp and stood ready. He surveyed the camp and decided to help a few of the egg heads to pack up before waiting with the rest for the order to move out. When it came time to move, Damian would take a step behind the point position. He didn't know the directions of where they were going, but if something did decide to kick off he was more than certain that he wanted to be the first one to encounter it. That way if it required some finesse or knowledge or might be dangerous the more knowledgeable members of their group could figure out a solution while he "handled" it.

ETERNITY VAULT - EXTERIOR

Seven Years.

With so many adversaries baring down on the Ascendancy, it was no wonder that the Dominus had not ventured from its borders in nearly a decade. If it was not the Khanate, there were Monsters. If not Monsters, there was hard soil. Keeping his people alive, safe, and fed was a challenge that consumed the Sith's attention. He spared little thought for the Southern Systems that once held his devotion. Little thought for the worlds that, at the very end, chose dissolution rather than unity. That is, until the Eternity Vault came into play.

A relic was discovered - one that demanded a trip back into the region they once called home. This was a venture that Darth Metus could have left to his Primarch's capable hand. But it served a secondary purpose: evaluation. Specifically, to witness the capabilities of one Kuben Woods Kuben Woods : a candidate for leading the nation's legions. So it was that Dominus had risen. So it was that the mission proceeded.

It was...hard not to reflect as the ships descended onto Belsavis. Hard not to remember what was. Though his visage was shrouded by his trademark mask, the Sith Lord's face was grim. He found no joy in coming back to the South. No joy in remembering the failures. But, for the sake of his people - his Empire - they would see victory this day.

A camp was erected before the Vault. And at the call of the Primarch did movement occur. For this operation, Darth Metus deferred leadership to his trusted friend: Kyyrk Kyyrk . He was one of three Primarchs of the Ascendancy: generals who led the nation with the same authority as the Dominus. In their absence, the Domina - Empress - and remaining Primarchs would safeguard Verun. The Sith trusted in their might and judgment, enough so that he could depart even for a little while. Now, as those gathered had begun to muster at Kyyrk's instruction, Darth Metus moved in tow. Armored. Hooded. Per the norm.

As he approached, he noticed a young soul amidst the group. "Greetings young one." he remarked. Wordlessly, he produced a ration bar from his utility belt and offered it to her. "You'll need your strength for what lies ahead."

For when it came to ruins and secret places, there was always hell lurking in the dark.

Kyyrk paused at the edge of the clearing, looking around into the courtyard before them. He absently took a bite of the ration bar that had been served up for breakfast. The group was almost ready to venture forth, but Kyyrk wanted to reiterate what had already been discussed time and time again. If there were questions about their task, this would be the last opportunity to pose them. After this? Well, as Kyyrk had so bluntly put it once upon a time, there's no room for tourists on a job like this.

"Before we set off, I want to reiterate a few things from our briefing. If any of what I'm about to say is new and informative, I invite you to turn around, walk back up the hill, and wait for us by the ship." He was retreading old ground. Driving the point home. "First and foremost, use caution when traversing the coming terrain! Geothermal activity is what powers Belsavis's ecosystem, and this area is no exception. There are open lava beds scattered around. If you step into one, our policy is to apply bacta, and point and laugh. And not necessarily in that order."

Kyyrk held up a datapad. "Everyone should have been given the briefing packet including things such as maps and general information about the Eternity Vault. Do bear in mind that this information IS out of date by a few hundred years, and a LOT can change in that time." Kyyrk gestured to the civilians that had joined them. "In the event that things get dicey, combatants' sole objective is the safety and security of our civilian assets. If at any point The Dominus or I," He gestured to Metus as he spoke, "Decide this venture is not worth it, we are packing and leaving. No exceptions. That can and will include members of this expedition. Have I made myself clear?"

Kyyrk looked around as there were murmurs of agreement. He nodded and turned. "Stay close to your partners, and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife." Kyyrk tightened the strap on his backpack and reached out to collect the large quarterstaff he was using as a walking stick. "We stop for rest at the inner wall." He did not look back as he stepped forward to begin leading the way through the valley. All around them were signs of the Rakata, from ancient totems to carved rocks. The valley itself was enclosed by a natural cliff face on all sides. Almost as if it was a large sinkhole, rather than a valley.

As they walked, Kyyrk drifted closer to the young witch that had accompanied them. Telula Vale Telula Vale . "Glad I'm not the only one with some familiarity of the...stranger side of things. Tell me, how do you fare with Mindscapes?"

Surveying the various... babysitters, lead Aliza to letting her eyes rest upon Kuben Woods Kuben Woods . Hmmm, on one hand he looked so serious that she doubted he would enjoy her teasing, on the other hand... she was a curious soul. As such eventually she found her feet leading her towards his side. The spacer offered a nod in greeting and smiled warmly at him. "Looking forward to meeting the guardians of this place?" Aliza let her light blue eyes examine his clothing in more detail once she was within easy speaking distance, before they return to the back of the expedition leader. To bad Kyyrk was in charge, she didn't feel like her naturally teasing ways would be a good plan in that quarter either.

As she awaited Damien's response, Aliza noted a vent that seemed to be smoking not to far in front of her and took a slight detour, probably wise, as a few seconds after walking past it let out a huge gout of steam. "Heh, at least any wrinkles in our clothes will be gone after this." She quips cheerfully as the air temperature rises mildly, before returning to ambient with each step further from the vent. She wisely raised her hood though as she came to the conclusion that maybe her hair wouldn't appreciate being steamed. Sadly this left half her expression in shadow, or shielded by the cloth, but sacrifices must be made, losing the facial aspect of her fun would be unfortunate, but better than the alternative.

Dreidi noticed a few more familiar faces that she had seen around the Ascendency and a few people in armour that were remaining more hidden so she couldn't tell who they were. It was an interesting situation and Dreidi knew that she needed to invest in her own armour at some point. But she was living in hopes that she would still grow another inch for four. Unlikely, but a young girl can hope. She was tightening her laces when she noticed someone come over and offer her some of their food. Blinking, she was unsure what to make of it all. Standing up, she still had to look up at the guy, and shook her head, "I'm fine thanks. I have my own rations and not long had some. I'm Dreidi, Dreidi Xeraic by the way." Dreidi greeted herself as she held out her hand to shake.

Looking over to Kyyrk, she was curious what the plan of action would be, she had briefly read over the information that had been handed over beforehand. It was super long, boring and she found it mentioning things that felt common sense. Don't go in lava, of course, next. However, realising that the information was centuries out of date meant that it was kinda useless in her mind, things changed so much in that time. She was unsure how valuable centuries old data would be. Dreidi sighed deeply and bit at her thumbnail, she wasn't sure how to proceed since she hadn't really taken the time to research what they would be facing.

Kyyrk then mentioned that the man next to her was the Dominus, she looked at him and tilted her head, she wasn't sure what the Dominus title meant but seemed that Kyyrk trusted the guy and Kyrrk was in charge of the mission. Looking at the guy, she tilted her head to the other side, "So, is Dominus mean you are the guy in charge of the Ascendency? I never learnt the titles and ranks. Seemed overly complex in my mind. Though I am trying to be a Nightsister and a Jedi, so complex is usually my thing..." Dreidi murmured towards the end of her sentence then looked at the guy. "Anyways, what does a Dominus do? How do you get to be one?"

The pause that was taken to reiterate what everyone should have already known made Telula sigh tolerantly and Kai to let out some hybrid form of a yawn and a whine. It caused the blonde's brows to loft, and she glanced down at the Hound for a moment before shaking her head at him. "Very rude." she told him quietly, then allowed her focus to drift back to to Kyyrk as he addressed the lot of them. Admittedly, she did not like the idea of having to coral all of these civilians if all hell broke loose - and experience told her it probably would - but she would do her job regardless.

Once everyone was on the move, she waved a hand to Kai though by now she didn't have to command him anymore. "If you fall into a lava pocket, I will not jump in after you." she did warn him. "So perhaps a little more diligence, hm?" The hound snuffed at her in response and Lula shook her head at him as they carried on. And soon enough she found herself in more company.

Lula was a bit surprised to be addressed by the leader of this not-so-little convoy, Kyyrk Kyyrk , but his statement made her smile just a little in amusement. "What can I say? Its been too many years since there has been a chance to stir something up that could kill us all." Her smile turned to a soft smirk, and while his following question made her loft a brow that smirk did not ebb. "Is that what all of this is? Have I been possessed without knowing it, forced into some kind of mental environment? I must say, if that's the case? I am going to be extremely miffed..."

When the group finally decided to start moving out, Damian did so silently. He took up a good spot towards the front where he could keep good coverage of everyone, while still being as close to behind the leader as possible. He left his rifle on his back as he walked, leaving his hands free in case they were needed for something else. And while outwardly Damian was dead silent, his head was abuzz with the voice basically throwing a tantrum.

THIS IS SO BORING! WHY DID YOU VOLUNTEER FOR SUCH A MINDLESS ASSIGNMENT?!?!

Didn't volunteer for it. And it is my duty to do as my Dominus commands.

You said nothing to protest it! That essentially means you volunteered for it!

Yes because surely a single soldier's protests would be enough to dissuade the Dominus. Besides, this should be a quiet assignment. Get in, get the job done, leave. Nothing too difficult.

Which is the bloody problem! We both know you're no soldier! WE are a blood thirsty killing machine made for war and carnage! We have fought and killed Imperials, Mandalorians, and worse! You killed a super soldier with a slight bit of help from me, WITH YOUR BARE HANDS! THIS IS SOOOOOOO BOOOOOOORING!

Will you shut it? I am a tool for the Dominus to use as he sees fit. If he says I guard something I defend it with my life. If he says I attack something I annihilate it with extreme prejudice. I shall serve.

God with such blind devotion sometimes I wonder what I see in you.

Damian's concentration on the conversation in his skull however was broken Aliza Vale Aliza Vale asking him a question. A welcome distraction from the shadow that followed him around constantly trying to get him to give into his base instincts. His voice was measured, even, and spoken like someone who had been disciplined from birth.

"Better to hope this place is abandoned. Less complicated that way. Less chances for them to get a lucky shot in and get someone killed,"

He then watched the female move around the vents, and listened to her comment on the steam. It was certainly a thought to have, but he assumed the comment was more to raise spirits. His response was more grounded than she was probably expecting, but he gave it anyway.

"Just be careful near the vents, I do not want to have to put out flaming robes because someone got too close,"

He looked back at the various scientists as he spoke, making his intention clear that message was for them above most everyone else. They were going to have enough problems to deal with in regards to the defenses of this place. His head was constantly swiveling back and forth, checking and rechecking the surroundings both with sensors and his eyes. Despite the shadow talking his ear off and the other member trying to make some small talk he was focused on this task. He was waiting on the proverbial axe to fall and the enemy to reveal themselves. No vaults ever constructed lacked a security system, otherwise any attempt to keep things safe would be futile. So the question was if the system was already disabled by those who had preceded them, or if it was waiting for them. Damian would not let that be a surprise.

Kyyrk snorted quietly. "You'd be lucky to find a mindscape as lush as this one. No, the Rakata Mind Prisons are...empty. Empty voids of white, as far as the eye can see." Kyyrk shrugged. "Let's not ask how I know that." Kyyrk grinned at his own wit. But the serious look soon fell over his face again. "But they are the most common form of containment within the Vault. Or across Belsavis in general." Kyyrk nodded a silent confirmation of his words as they walked. He glanced back towards Darth Metus Darth Metus and observed, "Chances are good if we find one, You, I, and the Dominus are the only three that would know how to handle one." He turned his gaze back to Telula. "If only it were as simple as 'don't touch it.' But alas we would never be as lucky..."

The trek across the valley was quiet. Uneventful. The landscape was, in fact, quite beautiful. Lush and green, even moreso than normal on Belsavis. Eventually the group drew near a large river of fire, a rift in the valley from which the full heat of the lava below wafted into the air. Crossing was easy, given the large bridge naturally formed by the rock and soil. Across the bridge, two large pillars stood, about two hundred meters from each other. The key to gaining entrance to the vault. What once was a mighty machine now lay innert, the huge door beyond lying open like a gaping wound.

Kyyrk paused, pulling the small totem from his backpack. Those sensitive to the Force could FEEL the thrum of harmony emanating from the device, beckoning them further within. Kyyrk remembered from his studies that within the door lie the chamber in which the servants of Soa had been imprisoned. The Dread Council. Powerful warriors harvested from the Infinite Empire's slave nations. The stasis tubes had long been picked clean, and now the chamber held nothing but bare stone. A singular doorway stood welcoming at the opposite end of the room. The hallway leading towards Soa's cell. But the Totem did not beckon in that way. Kyyrk paused near the center of the room. He could not discern where the device was taking them any longer.
"Spread out. Look for alternate paths. Anything that may prove useful. Information. Technology. Footprints in dust. Combatants, stay alert. If we start knocking on walls, there's a chance they'll knock back."

Damian held his position in their rough little formation as he scanned the area around them for anything suspicious. The voice in his head was still chattering to him about the meniality of this task, and how it grated against his very essence. And Damian would consistently just respond with his usual request of silence for a moment. That was until they reached the doors to the vault. Damian looked up more in concern as he checked for anything that looked overtly dangerous, structural damage, hidden defenses, anything that would give him a second thought. What was slightly amusing to him however was that the voice in his head went quiet for all of five minutes.

As they walked inside, Damian would scan the room visually, sweeping his rifle from left to right as he pressed a small switch on the weapon to turn on a mounted flashlight while his own visor would turn on a blended night vision. The room before him was vast, with several large pillar like structures reaching up to the ceiling, and various pods of some kind strategically placed around the room. Damian would quickly turn to one of the lead archeologists that had come along and speak quickly.

"Set up your equipment, begin your scans. I'm going to sweep the room. Don't wander off,"

They began unpacking various torches, lamps, and other sources of light with their various computers, scanners, and imaging equipment. Meanwhile Damian would step off into the darkening room as what little light came from the doorway was fading fast into the vast room. He walked past several terminals, and what appeared to be workstations of some kind, but the thing that drew his attention most was the pod like structures scattered about the floor.

You want to tell me why you went quiet all of a sudden?

Something's not right. Something about this place.

Damian stopped as he lowered his weapon and looked about where he was, and tried to practice what he'd only barely learned a few weeks ago. He tried to stretch his feelings beyond his body, to sense things beyond normal. However as hard as he tried, it seemed the more he tried to focus on it the less he felt. The room had an energy to it, that much was certain, but it was more akin to a vibe to Damian. Meanwhile his voice projected itself from him in a visual of a shadow, a humanoid being that looked like the literal void. It walked up to one of the pods, and squatted before it. It reached out to "touch" the pod itself before rubbing its fingers together. Damian looked at the being quizzically, it rarely did this and usually either to mess with him or when they were alone. Before long it simply faded, Damian going back to sweeping through the room. Damian would touch various pieces of dust covered architecture, and while he could feel as though something was here, he couldn't tell what.

You clearly know something's up. Talk.

No. This can't be.

What do you mean?

Damian looked ahead as he saw yet another pod on the ground.

No. No. No. NO. NO. NO!

What!? For once I ask you to talk and you struggle, why?

I told them to destroy this place. Those blasted fools.

What do you mean?

We shouldn't be here. I remember this place. And if anything is left from the last time I was here, we need to leave now or your precious little meat sacks will be turned to jelly. We barely won last time. Those stupid Jedi! I told them to burn this place to the ground and this is the thanks I get?! That's the last time I spare some would be Mireluka wannabe Echani with a lightsaber I've seen WIELDED BETTER BY INFANTS!

Wait, so you've been here?

Boy, I WAS HERE WHEN WE SHOULD HAVE DESTROYED THIS PLACE! Those blasted snob Jedi on their high horses.

But that makes you-

Exactly.

Which means-

Less talk more move.

Damian had the immediate urge to return to the doors, get back on their vessel and then nuke the place from orbit. But he had his orders. They had an objective.

We're not leaving.

Boy you have no idea with what you're dealing with.

And neither do you, that was clearly a long time ago.

Time doesn't diminish the power of the force.

No but clearly a lot of people came through here before us. And judging by how cleanly this place is stripped, they must have dealt with most of it.
