PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Dzujen'qo.
  • Model: Edge of Atrophy.

  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Alchemized Lignan crystals & ore.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Dagger
  • Size: Small
  • Weight: Average
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Regrowth. The dagger's structure is rather fragile, comparable to the ancient Shikkar, but Cerbera has imbued it with the power of regrowth. After the point of the dagger splinters at impact (either ineffectively or embedding a part of it inside of the target) the dagger slowly begins to regrow once more. This process takes many hours and is not a way to spontaneously regenerate the dagger within moments of splintering.
  • Corruption. The lignan's corruptive force has been enhanced with the strength of Taint. If it manages to cut a person or worse embed a splinter inside the target, they will experience excruciating pain and may become increasingly more corrupted by the Darkside of the Force. This could slowly blanket out their connection and potential with the Lightside, if the target is a Jedi or similar alignment.
Strengths:
  • Regrowth: The dagger is capable of slowly growing back once part of it is splintered.
  • Corruption: Its main focus is corruption, potentially weakening connections to the Lightside and slowly twisting its targets with the Darkside.
Weaknesses:
  • Fragile: At its core the dagger is more fragile than a regular dagger. It needs to be treated with care and can shatter before the right time arrives.
  • Force Null: From Ysalamir to Void Stone the dagger's potential of regrowing is either nullified or weakened in the presence of these effects.
  • The Light: Powerful Lightside powers like Force Light, Wall of Light is capable of stopping the spread of corruption from a cut or an embedded splinter. This only magnifies the pain the target experiences though and has to be handled with much care.
DESCRIPTION
The Edge of Atrophy was a gift made by Cerbera to Darth Ophidia to commemorate their anniversary.

What type of anniversary that is is anyone's question and probably better left undetailed.

Ophidia, as the Shadow of the Dark Lord, had plenty of weapons at her disposal and Cerbera saw no need to forge (or shape) another death stick for her. Instead she put some more thought into it and came up with this. A weapon of corruption and subjugation, something that didn't kill immediately and instead focused on corrupting its target with pain and the literal expression of the Darkside. A single cut can cause dark thoughts, heat of passion, anger, but the truly insidious effect occurs when a piece of the dagger shatters within the target itself and becomes embedded in their flesh.

Then the Darkside has the potential of tainting every fabric of the target.

From fury to lust to greed, every dark passion becomes magnified as the target loses their inhibitions. As the fragment remains untreated the target will lose themselves in the Darkside.

Slowly becoming more and more of a caricature of their worst self.

To increase its usefulness to the Shadow Cerbera imbued the dagger with regrowth. Slowly, but surely, the dagger would start to regrow once it shatters. Until it can be used once more with the same effect.

How's that for an anniversary gift?

Not sure if you forgot a word or two here ore it's just ore. See what I did there?

Gonna have to change the wording here to may be corrupted because, you know, can't guarantee anything as per the site rules.
