DESCRIPTION

When Darth Solipsis's Galactic Empire conquered the Core Worlds in the early 10th century ABY, his vision for dominion demanded more than stormtroopers, Sith cults, and a fleet of star destroyers. It required a singular icon, a leviathan of such magnitude that its mere shadow could silence entire star systems. The Eclipse III-class Star Dreadnought was that symbol, a culmination of fear spanning decades, modeled deliberately to evoke the imagery of it's namesake from the days of Palpatine, and yet surpass it in every measure. Unlike the aging relic of a bygone era, this vessel was a synthesis of Dark Will, Imperial discipline, and corporate engineering mastery.

The Emperor summoned the finest resources of the galaxy's great industrial powers, and using the data from the testbed prototype that rose from beneath the Senate chambers of Coruscant in 900ABY. The Trade Federation contributed their unmatched logistical architecture, whilst Kuat Entralla Engineering offered the backbone of the dreadnought's frame, drawing from their lineage of Super Star Destroyers. The Galactic Empire supplied the rare alloys, kyber harvests, and slave-labor, seized from conquered worlds, necessary to bring such a titan into existence. Constructing the Eclipse III over Kuat Drive Yards, once complete, the vessel was immediately desecrated, with the Emperor consigning renovations to his Dark Side Elite and the Church of the Dark Side. Through the Mawite warlord, Thomas Barran, Solipsis procured the remnants of the cryogenically sealed Ebruchized Skywalker clones, creatures born of nightmare on Copero during the days of the Brotherhood of the Maw. Awakened once more, these warped remnants of a hated bloodline were bound into servitude, cursed to act as navigators and oracles. Their fractured vision of the Force now charted the galaxy for the Emperor's war machine.

"The Eclipse" is no mere battleship. It is a crucible of the Emperor's will, a symbol to redefine galactic warfare, where it treads worlds bow or burn.

before I start, and get too far into this, I'll need some clarification on the Superlaser and it's power. Is this equivalent to the Previous Eclipse Cannon or weaker?

It is the battering ram cannon from the Last Jedi, unfortunately it’s canonical name is Superlaser Siege Cannon per Wookieepedia, but it very much is NOT a Superlaser as we know it. Not capable of destroying a planet, nor anything of any magnitude as a Death Star superlaser or even the prior Eclipse incarnation. It is essentially a bunker buster as depicted in the movie.
