GENERAL INFORMATION
Organization Name: Eclipse Consortium
Classification: Criminal Organization
Affiliation: Black Sun, Chiss Ascendancy
Organization Symbol: (see above)
Description: The Eclipse Consortium was a criminal organization whose roots came from a minor noble house and easily the largest underworld organization within the Chiss Ascendancy. The Eclipse Consortium has been slowly expanding its reach outside of the Chiss Ascendancy, gobbling up smaller criminal organizations, either merging them or utterly wiping them out. While the membership is predominantly Chiss, they have many members from other species. Criminal activities seem to include smuggling, racketeering, credit laundering, arms dealing, spice production and trafficking, slicing crimes, prostitution, fencing services, assassination, fraud, bribery, blackmail, etc. They have recently fallen under the umbrella of Black Sun.

GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Headquarters: Kinoss, Chiss Space, Unknown Regions, Hutt Space, Dremulae
Domain: Very influential on Kinoss, Dremulae and in Hutt Space, and the environs of those places
Notable Assets: Besides assets on the planet of Kinoss, the Eclipse Consortium has many illegal enterprises throughout the galaxy. Of note, the Eclipse Consortium has some sort of presence, of varying degrees, on every Chiss Ascendancy holding. As threads are created making these inroads and influencing areas outside the Chiss Ascendancy, we will update them.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
Hierarchy
- Eshro (Boss)
- Konsilist (Underboss/Advisor)
- Leyhanant (Lieutenant)
- Soltaho (Soldier)
- Kunul (Partner)

Membership
The Eclipse Consortium has hundreds of Chiss members among its ranks. Most of them native to Kinoss and from House Vesnam, The core leadership are noble members of House Vesnam. They make up the Eshro and the Konsilists. However, as the Eclipse Consortium continues to expand, more and more non-Chiss have begun to fill their ranks. One even earning a spot as Konsilist.

All members of the Eclipse Consortium undergo a rigorous vetting process. In fact, members are almost always approached about joining and not the other way around. A series of “Trials” are undergone by the perspective member, demonstrating their loyalty to the organization. Species other than Chiss are especially tested, even to the point of death during their Trials. If someone marries into the family, they must undergo the same Trials, no matter what…rare are the exceptions with these trials.

Climate
The climate within the Eclipse Consortium is one of tension. However, if a member does its job and is loyal, they can sleep pretty soundly. It is well-known that betrayal is never forgiven and almost always ends with a slow death for the traitor. There is guarded trust within the Eclipse Consortium. The Chiss within its ranks are very much like a family, even if they do not belong to House Vesnam. This is because of the similar discretion they all must use while operating within the Chiss Ascendancy...and the rest of the galaxy for that matter. This has allowed the Eclipse Consortium to evolve into one of the most discreet criminal organizations in existence this era. It is rumored that the more secrets members are privy to, the more they are watched. It is even whispered that the Chiss Ascendancy Intelligence Division has assets dedicated to monitoring for disloyalty…but surely those are just urban legends.

Reputation
Eclipse Consortium is spoken about in hushed whispers within the Chiss Ascendancy. It is rumored the Ruling Houses know of the organization’s existence, but do nothing to interfere with their operations. As long as they remain discreet, continue to wipe out all other criminal organizations and do not endanger with Ascendancy with their existence, it seems they will be allowed to remain. This not mean that all members of the Ruling Houses feel this way. There are some who would love nothing more than to wipe them out of the Chiss annals. Legend has it that whenever a planet undergoes an eclipse of any kind, the planet in question will have the highest crime rate of its history. So far, many of those metrics have proven true…

To the rest of the galaxy, the Eclipse Consortium is beginning to get wind of its existence. Many suspect that the criminal organization originated in Corellia, due to the Old Corellian naming conventions. The Eclipse Consortium does nothing to dispel these rumors. Their emerging reputation is that of being calculating, ruthless, but reasonable when dealt with. Recently, the Eclipse Consortium has fallen in with Black Sun, which brought about mixed feelings within Eclipse Consortium.

Curios
The Eclipse Consortium has developed an intricate hand sign system of communication. The subtleties allow full conversations without saying a word. The more adept members of this organization can even carry on a conversation with another member with other people around—with them being non the wiser. Within the Eclipse Consortium, many members will get a tattoo in a very discreet, yet painful spot on their body to show their loyalty. Some examples are under the tongue, in the armpit, or between the toes. Otherwise, due to their emphasis on discretion and secrecy, most members have no distinguishing marks or characteristics at all.

Rules
Discretion and loyalty at all costs.

Goals
The Eclipse Consortium desires eventual control of most illegal markets. But they are very patient with their machinations, as most Chiss are. Every action is thought out, planned and two steps ahead of the planned action are considered. Their modus operandi is for no one to even know they are there and then a flurry of activity to accomplish their goal, brutally and quickly. The Eclipse Consortium wishes to reward its loyal, contributing members with as much wealth and power as it can provide within reason under the banner of Black Sun.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
House Vesnam had been a Lesser House for centuries. However, it had been a major player in the Chiss Expansionary Intelligence Division (CEID) since its inception, next to only House Quylen in its influence in that area. However, two centuries ago, it was discovered that there were many traitors among House Vesnam’s agents within the CEID. Many families, who had no traitors among their number, joined together and made it their mission to hunt down and kill every one of them. They did so in a ruthless, public fashion. But House Vesnam had lost favor with the Ruling Houses, who left them to dry and flounder following the fallout. It could have been the end of House Vesnam, but they were families of survivors. Their primary sources of funding began to dry up, their members were not accepted into the CEID, and they were all treated as traitors for some time. This caused House Vesnam to do whatever it took to come out ahead following this dark period of time. With little choice, all the families left in House Vesnam, turned to crime and formed the Eclipse Consortium. It turned out that House Vesnam had found something they excelled at outside of intelligence…

At a meteoric pace, the Eclipse Consortium began rising from obscurity and into relevance. One by one, the Eclipse Consoritum began dismantling small crime syndicates within the Chiss Ascendancy or forcing them to come under heel. As the credits rolled in from their illegitimate enterprises, so too did their influence. This was a century ago…

Today, the Eclipse Consortium has expanded throughout the Chiss Ascendancy and left Chiss space to make criminal forays into other nearby systems. Slowly, but surely this organization is reaching out its tendrils of criminal dominance in other planets, absorbing or wiping out any smaller criminal organization it encounters. It is seeking out the larger criminal organizations to feel them out—whether to make war on them or ally with them.

Recently, House Vesnam has been distancing themselves from the Eclipse Consortium, as a secret coupe by family members not a part of the Eclipse Consortium. As a result of these moves by House Vesnam, Malicar decided that they simply could not depend on his house to "have their back" anymore and responded by reforming Black Sun.
