Dust Bowl Dance (Rebel Dominion of Lok)

#1 http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Lok

Lok, a dust ball, and home to pirate activity. The Rebel Alliance had sent a fleet to take care of it. Benefactor Thane Drexel was heading the ground Op. His second in command was the soldier known as [member="Oddball"]. Him and his team would be the personal escorts of Thane through the raid. Armed with a pair of the pistols he recieved from the previous Invasion, a scatter gun and the Lesadri coined coat. This was the first mission Thane would lead as Benefactor, he hoped he would not lead any to their ends. He left his flask at home this time to ensure this. His nerves were gettig to him, but he put on a strong face for the men. Loaded into gunboats and transports, the Alliances finest were strapped and ready for combat. Thane hoped he was as well.

"We should be arriving in five minutes Benefactor."

"Understood. Thank you Captain. Expect a fleet orbiting the planet and a welcome party dowm on the surface. Alert the fleet and all fighter pilots to get to battle stations."

One Week Prior

"Sir, the Rebel Alliance is sending a fleet here in approximately a week."

"And you are sure of this?"

"Completely my lord. Orders sir?"

"Bait the hook, these rebel scum can't resist doing the right thing. Take a few thousand credits, go to the pirates and buy twenty slaves and explosives."

"But my lord what of-"

"Sacrifices need to be made Agent, do as I say and purchase the slaves. We will use these pirates as a buffer before luring in these rebel traitors and finishing them."

"Yes my lord, anything further?"

"Yes, prepare for evacuation of the outpost, send word to the pirates about the attack and have the pilots place mines in orbit. I want them pulled from hyperspace then blown to pieces. Now go"

The Rebel alliance wouldn't find themselves blasting into orbit to find only a pirate fleet, that they could easily tear apart. They would be come out of hyper space seeing the extent of bad intelligence. For not only was there a large a pirate fleet amassed to destroy the incoming rebels but an entire field of Empion mines that were immediately pulling smaller craft from hyper space and destroying them and the pilots inside by frying them with large blasts of ion energy.

Gravity wells opened up from the mines pulling in smaller craft as the pirate fleet began to open fire on the rebellion. This was no ordinary defense, it was a trap. Pirates could never be this organized or well informed, something was very wrong and if the rebellion were to survive and find out what was going on they needed to act fast.

Before the captain could speak, Blane made sure that his weapons are loaded and no problem may occur. It was the same feeling again... The feeling he felt before every battle... The smell, the look upon the men's faces and the worst was the silence... every moment spent seemed like an eternity, every second seemed to be an endless fight of thoughts an inside conflict in Blane's mind when every fibre of his body was feeling the silence again and again with greater impact every time... A silent terror. He was a soldier and he was trained to fight, to endure, to protect and at need to kill. But he was still a human, it is said that after a while it becomes easier, but not in this case, for Blane it was never easy, no matter how many times he kills, no matter how many lives he takes, only the thought that the cause is just that he fights to save and protect made him feel better He always had a love for battle, and especially for the rebellion where his hopes for a better future lays and now he remembered this, he raised his head high taking a serious expression seeming ready. There was only one thought in his mind "As long as the Alliance has enemies, I will answer her call."

Max felt the ships begin to shudder as fire seemed to appear out of thin air. The Navy folk on the command deck lost their metaphorical shit and Max booked it for the hanger. He tended to roam around the Rebellion, since his entire management responsibilities could be done from pretty much anywhere. He was a ghost without a name tag, who simultaneously seemed to have no rank but held the authority of a general. The hangar was sure to be swarming with Marines entering gunships and preparing to launch shortly.

Max would make sure he was on one of them.
