Strengths:
- Expanded hanger - With its role as a dedicated carrier for the New Jedi Order, and the Alliance if the situation arises, the Durron-class carries a greatly expanded hanger capacity than usual.
- Gravastar Reactors - Provide the ship with plenty of power to pull upon for its engines and shields.
- Meditation Chamber - Gives those that use Battle Meditation a place to focus and increase their power's reach and potency.
- Very low firepower - the Durron-class has very little in the terms of actual offensive firepower.
- Hanger damage - If the hanger bay is damaged or sealed for whatever reason, the Durron-class is essentially a shiny target for enemy forces.
- Chain Reaction - If the Gravastar reactors are damaged in anyway, because they are linked, that damage will cause a chain reaction along the entire chain.
With the Galactic Alliance and New Jedi Order once again moving onto a war footing following the invasions at Thyferra, Dagobah, and Sector L-49, Taeli decided that while her company would develop new ships for the Galactic Alliance, something else was needed. She determined that the New Jedi Order itself needed a fleet, something that could act independently of the main GA forces, giving the NJO more freedom to strike at their enemies. To that regard, the first ship of these new Jedi ships was the Durron-class Carrier.
Designed around the Alliance philosophy of starfighters, and playing on the idea of Jedi Aces, the Durron-class has an expanded hanger bay that can fit 11 squadrons of fighters for use by the Jedi and their allies. To further enhance the ability of the Jedi pilots, and a Jedi task force in general, a meditation chamber was built in the heart of each ship of the class to help Jedi who use battle meditation.
The Durron-class does have few offensive options besides its fighters, relying almost solely on other ships in a task force to protect it from enemy forces, and if its hanger is damaged, it becomes a sitting target essentially of gold and chrome.
