- Sith-Imperial Collection and Refinery Complex - Dubrillion (Previous iteration)
- Mine Name: Dubrillion-Destrillion Integrated Resource Dominion (D-DIRD)
- Material: Ferrous Ores, Industrial Metals, Rare Earth Elements, Silicates, Tibanna Gas, Volatile Energy Condensates, Reactor Fuels, Hypermatter Catalysts
- Location: Dubrillion System
- Affiliation: The Kainate
- Size: Massive - The Dubrillion-Destrillion Integrated Resource Dominion is among the largest industrial developments within Kainate territory, encompassing an entire star system rather than a single installation. Twenty planetary extraction megacomplexes blanket Dubrillion's oceans, each reaching hundreds of kilometers into the planet's mantle through vast borehole networks surrounded by subterranean refinery cities. Above them, an orbital logistics lattice of heavily fortified skyhooks, anchor stations, and cargo depots spans the planet, while Destrillion hosts continent-sized tibanna harvesting facilities, atmospheric refineries, and energy-generation complexes that power much of the system's industry. Beyond the two worlds, thousands of automated mining platforms, mobile refinery ships, and industrial outposts operate throughout the asteroid field of Lando's Folly, extracting and processing resources around the clock. Together, these interconnected facilities form a single planetary-scale industrial ecosystem capable of sustaining the Kainate's military, shipbuilding, and manufacturing sectors on a scale rivaled by only its most strategically important resource domains.
- Population: Heavily Staffed - Although automation remains deeply integrated into every aspect of production, the sheer scale of the Dubrillion-Destrillion Integrated Resource Dominion demands an immense permanent workforce. Millions of personnel are distributed across Dubrillion's twenty mantle extraction megacomplexes, subterranean refinery cities, orbital skyhook anchor stations, Destrillion's atmospheric tibanna harvesting platforms and energy-generation facilities, and the countless mining platforms operating throughout Lando's Folly. Engineers, miners, refinery technicians, logistics coordinators, security forces, scientists, flight crews, maintenance specialists, and administrative staff work in continuous rotating shifts to sustain uninterrupted production across the system. Supported by vast numbers of mining droids, industrial automatons, and AI-managed logistics networks, this combination of skilled manpower and mechanized labor allows the Dominion to operate around the clock, making it one of the Kainate's largest concentrations of industrial personnel outside of Malsheem itself.
- Profit: High - The Dubrillion-Destrillion Integrated Resource Dominion is one of the Kainate's most lucrative strategic-industrial assets, generating immense economic value through the continuous extraction, refinement, and export of raw materials, industrial metals, reactor fuels, and tibanna gas. Dubrillion's mantle mines supply enormous quantities of construction-grade metals and advanced industrial feedstock, while Destrillion produces vast reserves of tibanna and system-wide energy that support both local manufacturing and exports across Kainate territory. Lando's Folly further supplements production with rare minerals, volatile compounds, and metallic asteroids harvested by its extensive automated mining fleet. The Dominion's integrated logistics network of skyhooks, orbital anchor stations, and mobile refinery platforms minimizes transportation costs and maximizes production efficiency, allowing resources to move seamlessly from extraction to shipment. Beyond its direct commercial value, the Dominion dramatically reduces the Kainate's dependence on foreign suppliers by furnishing the raw materials required for warship construction, weapons manufacturing, infrastructure projects, and heavy industry, making its strategic worth even greater than the substantial revenues it generates.
- Accessibility: The Dominion is closed to civilian traffic and exists under strict military oversight. Authorized personnel may access the system only through designated hyperspace corridors monitored by Kainate customs stations and orbital defense platforms. Civilian navigation data has been heavily altered to obscure the full scale of the operation, while many sections of the asteroid network are entirely restricted. Access to Dubrillion's surface facilities, Destrillion's energy complexes, and the extraction platforms within Lando's Folly requires multiple layers of biometric clearance.
- Description: The Dubrillion-Destrillion Integrated Resource Dominion represents one of the largest and most productive industrial ecosystems within the Kainate. Rather than functioning as a single mine or refinery, the Dominion encompasses an entire star system transformed into a unified extraction, processing, energy generation, and logistics network. Dubrillion serves as the system's industrial heart, Destrillion provides the energy required to sustain large-scale production, and the asteroid field of Lando's Folly supplies supplementary resources that would otherwise need to be imported from distant sectors. Together, these three operational zones form a self-sustaining industrial machine capable of supplying warship construction, military manufacturing, and civilian infrastructure projects across vast portions of Kainate territory.
Dubrillion itself has become a world-spanning mining complex. The original Sith-Imperial Collection and Refinery Complexes have been restored and dramatically expanded, with twenty primary extraction centers now linked by subterranean transit tunnels, automated freight maglevs, and planetary logistics corridors. Hundreds of mantle boreholes descend deep beneath the oceanic crust into mineral-rich layers of the planet's mantle. Autonomous drilling engines, mining droids, and excavation platforms operate continuously within these depths, extracting vast quantities of ferrous ores, rare earth elements, silicates, industrial metals, and trace exotic materials. Massive ore elevators transport these materials upward into refinery cities built around each borehole, where the raw resources are sorted, refined, alloyed, and processed into usable industrial products.
The refinery cities themselves have grown into sprawling industrial arcologies buried beneath armored superstructures. Smelters, alloy foundries, fabrication yards, and industrial processing plants operate around the clock, producing everything from refined durasteel feedstock to advanced construction materials destined for shipyards and military manufacturing centers. Entire districts are devoted to materials science, quality control, and automated logistics. The facilities are heavily automated, allowing relatively small numbers of personnel to oversee production volumes that would normally require millions of workers. Vast subterranean storage vaults contain strategic reserves of processed metals and industrial materials sufficient to sustain wartime production for extended periods should outside supply chains become disrupted.
Above the surface, Dubrillion's orbital logistics network has become nearly as impressive as the mining operations below. Rather than relying solely on traditional cargo shuttles, the Kainate has constructed a system-wide network of armored skyhooks positioned above the planet's major industrial regions. These orbital tethers continuously transfer cargo from the surface into orbit through automated elevator systems. Massive cargo capsules travel along the skyhooks carrying refined metals, industrial components, and construction materials directly to orbital distribution centers. The result is a logistics chain capable of moving immense quantities of material into space with far greater efficiency than conventional launch methods.
Supporting the skyhooks is an extensive network of orbital anchor stations positioned throughout Dubrillion's orbital space. These stations function as transfer points, storage facilities, customs checkpoints, fleet resupply depots, and defensive strongholds. Cargo arriving from the surface is sorted and distributed through these orbital hubs before being dispatched to destinations throughout Kainate territory. Many of the anchors possess large industrial docks capable of servicing freighters, refinery ships, military transports, and even capital vessels. Strategic reserve depots located within the anchor stations contain emergency stockpiles of refined resources intended to ensure uninterrupted production during periods of conflict.
Because the skyhook network represents such a critical piece of infrastructure, it is protected by extensive defensive measures. Each anchor station carries fortress-grade shield generators, anti-starfighter batteries, point-defense networks, and long-range sensor arrays. Automated defense satellites patrol the approaches to the tethers while interceptor squadrons maintain constant readiness. The orbital anchors are connected by overlapping sensor coverage and communications networks, creating a defensive shell around the planet.
Beneath each skyhook, the primary transit tether descends directly to the surface, while eight massive auxiliary terrestrial stabilization tethers radiate outward and anchor themselves into heavily reinforced bedrock foundations surrounding the industrial zone below. These secondary tethers distribute structural stresses across a wide area, provide redundancy against sabotage or catastrophic damage, and allow the skyhook to maintain operational integrity even if one or more support lines are compromised. Many of these anchor sites double as fortified strongpoints equipped with shield projectors, defense batteries, garrison facilities, and maintenance complexes. Should an attack occur, cargo operations can be rerouted through alternate tethers while damaged sections are repaired by dedicated engineering drones and construction vessels.
Destrillion serves as the Dominion's energy heart and fuel-production center. While Dubrillion supplies raw materials, Destrillion generates the power necessary to sustain system-wide industrial operations. Vast tibanna extraction platforms float within the planet's turbulent atmosphere, harvesting enormous quantities of gas for processing. Refineries suspended above the atmospheric storms separate, refine, and compress tibanna into forms suitable for military, industrial, and energy-production applications. Much of the tibanna harvested on Destrillion is exported throughout the Kainate, but a substantial portion remains within the system to support local manufacturing and power generation.
The world's mysterious energy tunnels have become the focus of major scientific and industrial development. Shadow Mind researchers discovered methods of harnessing the immense energies flowing through these natural phenomena, constructing specialized collection arrays and power-conversion facilities around stable tunnel intersections. The resulting power infrastructure generates tremendous amounts of energy, rivaling the output of major hypermatter reactor complexes. Energy collected from the tunnels is distributed throughout the system via orbital transmission stations, allowing Dubrillion's mines, refineries, and skyhooks to draw upon Destrillion's energy reserves without requiring massive local reactor installations.
Surrounding both worlds lies Lando's Folly, a sprawling asteroid field transformed into an industrial frontier. Thousands of automated mining stations are scattered among the asteroids, each equipped with excavation lasers, mass-driver systems, and autonomous processing equipment. Prospecting droids constantly survey the field for valuable deposits while mobile refinery vessels travel between mining sites collecting partially processed materials. Rich metallic asteroids are systematically dismantled and refined, while volatile bodies containing rare compounds are harvested by specialized extraction platforms designed to safely handle unstable materials.
The largest installations within Lando's Folly are the Resource Harvesting Platforms, immense mobile industrial stations capable of operating independently for years at a time. These platforms function as miniature industrial centers, complete with refineries, fabrication facilities, storage vaults, maintenance docks, and habitation modules. Their crews oversee fleets of autonomous mining craft that strip-mine entire asteroid clusters before moving on to new targets. Materials recovered from the asteroid field are either transferred directly to Dubrillion's refineries or shipped to orbital anchor stations for storage and distribution.
Together, the Dubrillion system produces raw materials, refined metals, fuel, industrial gases, energy, and construction materials in quantities sufficient to sustain major military campaigns and industrial expansion efforts. More than a mining operation, the Dominion represents a fully integrated resource-production ecosystem where extraction, refinement, power generation, logistics, and distribution have been woven into a single machine dedicated to fueling the ambitions of Darth Carnifex and the Kainate.

- Maximum - The Dubrillion-Destrillion Integrated Resource Dominion is protected by one of the most comprehensive security networks maintained by the Kainate, reflecting its immense strategic importance to the Empire's industrial economy. Security begins at the system's hyperspace approaches, where interdiction fields, deep-space sensor arrays, and customs stations monitor all inbound and outbound traffic. Permanent patrol groups of Kainate warships, supported by interceptor wings and reconnaissance craft, maintain a constant presence throughout the system, while hidden surveillance satellites and long-range sensor platforms provide continuous tracking of activity around Dubrillion, Destrillion, and Lando's Folly. Unauthorized vessels are typically intercepted long before they can approach the Dominion's operational zones.
Above Dubrillion, the orbital skyhook network doubles as an extensive defensive lattice. Every orbital anchor station is equipped with fortress-grade shield generators, anti-capital turbolaser batteries, point-defense laser grids, missile interceptors, electronic warfare suites, and dedicated starfighter hangars. The stations share overlapping sensor coverage and encrypted communications, allowing them to rapidly coordinate responses to threats while rerouting cargo through alternate skyhooks if one station is compromised. The skyhooks themselves are heavily armored, with each primary transit tether supported by eight massive terrestrial stabilization tethers anchored into fortified surface complexes. These anchor installations are defended by shield projectors, anti-aircraft batteries, anti-orbital weapons, hardened bunkers, and permanent military garrisons capable of repelling both ground assaults and orbital strikes.
The industrial facilities on Dubrillion operate as fortified strongholds rather than conventional refineries. Every collection and refinery megacomplex is surrounded by layered perimeter walls, automated turret networks, sensor fences, shield barriers, and fortified checkpoints guarded by Kainate security personnel and combat droids. Koshûtaral Sentinel detachments are stationed at the Dominion's most critical command centers, vaults, and skyhook anchor complexes, serving as elite rapid-response forces capable of neutralizing infiltrators or spearheading counterassaults. Internal security is further reinforced through biometric access controls, continuous surveillance, autonomous patrol units, AI-monitored production systems, and compartmentalized security sectors capable of sealing entire portions of a facility within seconds of detecting unauthorized activity.
Destrillion's energy infrastructure receives equally rigorous protection due to its vital role in powering the Dominion. Tibanna harvesting platforms, atmospheric refineries, and energy collection arrays are defended by layered shield systems, interceptor squadrons, anti-air batteries, and atmospheric defense craft designed to operate within the planet's violent weather conditions. The Energy Tunnel Research Directorate and Hyperfuel Production Complex are among the most heavily secured scientific installations in the Kainate, with access restricted to cleared personnel and monitored by specialized security forces trained to protect hazardous energy research and critical fuel reserves.
Within Lando's Folly, security emphasizes surveillance, mobility, and rapid response across the sprawling asteroid field. Thousands of autonomous sensor probes and reconnaissance drones monitor mining operations while hidden weapons platforms are embedded within larger asteroids to provide concealed defensive positions. Fleet Support Docks and Forward Operations Command maintain permanent patrol groups of corvettes, gunships, and starfighters that continuously escort mining convoys and investigate suspicious contacts. In the event of piracy or sabotage, mining platforms can activate local defense grids while nearby patrol forces converge rapidly using pre-established emergency transit corridors, ensuring that even the system's most remote industrial outposts remain under the Dominion's protective umbrella.
All of these defensive layers are integrated through the System Resource Coordination Nexus, which functions as the Dominion's central security command. Sophisticated artificial intelligences continuously analyze sensor data, logistics traffic, communications, and environmental conditions across the entire system, enabling security forces to detect anomalies and coordinate responses within moments. Combined with redundant communications networks, hardened command bunkers, extensive emergency protocols, and overlapping military jurisdictions, the result is a defense architecture designed not merely to protect individual facilities, but to ensure that the Dubrillion-Destrillion Integrated Resource Dominion continues operating even under sustained attack, preserving one of the Kainate's most vital engines of industrial and military production.
When the Sith Ascendancy first emerged in the Unknown Regions, the Dubrillion system was among the earliest worlds incorporated into its expanding sphere of influence due to its close proximity to Bastion and several important hyperspace corridors. Despite this favorable position, Dubrillion itself remained largely undeveloped during the Ascendancy's formative years. The Empire's limited industrial capacity forced its leadership to prioritize worlds such as Muunilinst, Dantooine, and Yaga Minor, whose existing infrastructure could be more readily adapted for military production. Dubrillion's mineral wealth was recognized, but the immense investment required to exploit its mantle deposits relegated the oceanic world to a strategic reserve for future development.
As the Sith Ascendancy matured into the New Sith Empire under Darth Carnifex, the demands of continuous military expansion rapidly outpaced the Empire's existing resource base. New fleets, armies, orbital fortresses, and industrial complexes consumed unprecedented quantities of metals and construction materials, prompting the Sith Empire to begin surveying their territories for untapped mineral reserves. Detailed geological studies revealed that Dubrillion possessed extraordinarily rich concentrations of ores, industrial metals, and rare earth elements deep within its mantle, rivaling or exceeding many of the Empire's traditional mining worlds. Recognizing an opportunity to secure a long-term strategic resource supply, Carnifex personally authorized a comprehensive industrialization program for the entire system.
Construction began with the establishment of twenty massive Collection and Refinery Complexes distributed across Dubrillion's oceans, each positioned above carefully selected mantle bore sites. Gigantic drilling systems penetrated hundreds of kilometers beneath the planet's crust while fleets of autonomous mining droids worked continuously within the expanding excavation galleries below. Initially, the extracted ore was transported into orbit for refinement aboard dedicated processing stations. Although effective during the early years of production, the rapidly increasing volume of extracted material soon overwhelmed the orbital infrastructure, creating significant transportation bottlenecks that threatened the Empire's ambitious wartime production quotas.
To overcome these limitations, the industrial network underwent a comprehensive redesign. Underground refinery cities were constructed directly beneath each collection complex, allowing raw ore to be processed immediately after extraction rather than transported into orbit. Above the surface, towering docking spires capable of receiving heavy military cargo vessels were erected to streamline exports directly from the refineries. This dramatically shortened production times, reduced logistical inefficiencies, and transformed Dubrillion into one of the New Sith Empire's principal suppliers of refined industrial metals. By the height of Carnifex's reign, millions of tons of construction materials departed the world each standard month, feeding the Empire's expanding network of shipyards and military factories.
While Dubrillion provided the raw materials, nearby Destrillion was gradually incorporated into the broader industrial strategy as a dedicated energy-production world. Atmospheric harvesting platforms were established to collect the planet's abundant tibanna gas reserves, while research installations investigated the immense natural energy tunnels that coursed through its atmosphere. Refined tibanna supplied military industries throughout the Empire, while experimental power-generation facilities converted the world's unusual energy phenomena into electricity that supported local industrial operations. Together, Dubrillion and Destrillion evolved into complementary halves of a unified resource-production system, linked by constant traffic moving fuel, refined metals, industrial gases, and personnel between the two worlds.
This prosperity came to an abrupt end with the collapse of the Tenth Sith Empire. As the Empire fragmented and its territories descended into decades of warfare, the Dubrillion system found itself increasingly isolated from the industrial networks it had once supplied. Without the logistical support necessary to sustain such enormous facilities, production gradually slowed before ceasing altogether. Mining droids fell silent within the mantle boreholes, refinery furnaces cooled, orbital processing stations were abandoned, and the once-bustling docking towers became little more than rusting monuments to a vanished imperial age. Over the following decades, the sprawling industrial complexes remained largely untouched, their automated systems entering dormant states while nature and corrosion slowly reclaimed portions of the abandoned facilities.
For nearly a quarter of a century, the Dominion existed only as a forgotten relic of Carnifex's former empire. Scavengers occasionally ventured into the outer sections of the abandoned complexes, recovering valuable machinery and industrial equipment, but few dared penetrate the deeper refinery cities or subterranean mining galleries where unstable infrastructure, dormant defense systems, and lingering automated security units continued to operate unpredictably. The orbital facilities fared little better, many drifting in silence while others gradually decayed in place. Although numerous governments recognized the immense potential of the system's infrastructure, none possessed either the resources or the technical expertise necessary to restore such an enormous industrial undertaking.
Everything changed within the past five years when the Kainate, under the leadership of the resurrected Darth Carnifex, launched the Dubrillion-Destrillion Restoration Initiative. Decades of accumulated technological advances allowed engineers to modernize rather than simply repair the defunct facilities. The original refinery complexes were rebuilt into fortress-like megacomplexes, the old docking towers were superseded by an immense orbital skyhook network supported by fortified anchor stations, Destrillion's energy infrastructure was expanded into a system-wide power grid, and the asteroid field of Lando's Folly was transformed into an enormous automated mining frontier. Reborn as the Dubrillion-Destrillion Integrated Resource Dominion, the system once again stands among the Kainate's greatest industrial achievements, eclipsing even its former role under the Tenth Sith Empire and serving as one of the primary engines driving the Kainate's continual military and economic expansion.
