Tryvge Hakon
Senator of Wroona
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: Wroona feels like an under-utilized planet. I want to grow it and make it more notable and my initial inclination is to do that via shipbuilding; canon gives the groundwork, I just need to expand it. This character will essentially serve as the proxy for a shipbuilding corporation on Wroona, because it would be uncouth for a senator to head such a corporation.
Furthermore, my main character is like very populist fronting, but realistically backed by major corporations and this submission lays the groundwork for a corporation to actually be backing him as opposed to being a populist fronting senator without any actual corporate backing or secret interests. This is also meant to be a scandalous main character and so I think him having a secret cousin here running one of his largest funders and backers nicely fits that vibe and adds an extra layer to his numerous problems. - Image Credit: Canva | canva.com

Drew Vikarr was born on Wroona into a stable and well-to-do family. His father is related to Tryvge Hakon. He largely lived a normal upbringing: chasing around womp rats, trips to the blaster range and, of course, the dreaded private primary school teaching on Wroona. He was essentially a normal child.
As he became of age, Vikarr was frankly not sure what he wanted to do with his life. His parents had made a good living on Wroona working as part of the supposed upper echelon of society. He had taken a liking to sport and specifically the heroics of Maxo Vista, but chasing after sport was about the unlikeliest career path in the galaxy. Success is hard to come by in that field. That time was also when a recession came on the planet and the government had to bail out Wroona Technology Industries for the second time. That government was of course led by his relative, Hakon. Vikarr had positive memories of Hakon from his childhood. The man was close with his father and would regularly visit the home and was always kind and attentive to him when he was growing up, but, at the same time, he was not necessarily eager to follow in any of his family's footsteps.
Then, the offer came. More money as a signing bonus than Vikarr had ever seen in his life and likely more money than either of his parents had ever made, not that he had asked them. It was an invitation to head up Wroona Technology Industries. Essentially, all he had to do was accept and he would become one of the wealthiest people on Wroona. For most, it would have been an easy decision, but for Vikarr, it was not. He knew he was privileged growing up, but this would be a whole new level of privilege. Somehow making millions as an athlete sounded way better than selling out to corporations and making even more.
His parents were heavily in favor though. People treated the offer as a gift from the gods. Nobody would have understood if he said no, so, he signed the offer. In theory, he was in charge of one of the largest corporations on Wroona. In reality, the job involved a lot of dilly-dallying and saying yes to whatever Hakon wanted and, for whatever reason, under no circumstances was he to acknowledge his relationship with the senator. They are business acquaintances, not family, and it is absurd to think or suggest they are family.
