Name: Dretti Nirock Town (Blessed Gold in Mon Calamarian)

Classification: Frontier Town
Location: Kyrikal 17. Out there in the desert there is a bounty, treasures beyond your wildest imagination. That's where the outposts lay, scattered across the wastes of 17 and digging up riches in ores and metals.

Development Threads: If requested.

Affiliation: Fa Holdings & Tai Fa.

Description: Many have tried to tame the wilds of the Kyrikal 17 deserts. For it is there that one can find the metals and ores that make up the wealth of the frontier world. It is no different to the frontier town of Dretti Nirock. Named so by the early Mon Calamarian settlers, it describes the hopes of wealth dreamed upon by those workers.

These days that dream has been taken over by industrialization.

Blessed Gold is rust, decay, wealth and the future of Kyrikal compressed together. Two main parts of the area can be distinguished: the shanty town itself where the workers live and the various mining outposts that are attached to said town.

Nirock is surrounded by rocky mountain walls on one side, cliffs on another and open fields on the next. The town itself is build around the remains of an ancient crashed starship. Most of it has been salvaged and taken apart over the years, but most notably the shield generator is still mostly functional. It can generate a shield across the central part of the town, but this takes a huge drain out of the town's central generators. In terms of numbers, the shield would only project about ten percent of the entire town and perhaps more importantly, many of the generators it relies on are outside of the shield projected.

This means that an elaborate orbital strike could only be repelled for a short while, before the additional generators would be destroyed and the shield deactivated.

Besides that, Nirock has a wide variety of cantinas, marketplaces and even a modest spaceport.

This is in great contrast to the distinct second dimension of Dretti Nirock, which is the various mining outposts surrounding the frontier town. It is immediately clear where all the money went, where the town itself is rust and grime, mixed with dust and alcohol, the mining outposts are properly supplied and maintained.

Two distinct outposts can be made out, but more exists further down.

Canyon 102 and Shard Zero, both of which are known for their wide, spacious corridors, built into the cliffs and hills. The longer they mine, the more they expand downward into the depths. They both possess quality medical services, separate living arrangements and even entertainment facilities, as you might imagine there's a level of tension between the workers that live out in the town and those that may stay underground.

But with new management, who has a slightly... different vision, a portion of the wealth is slowly trickling through back into Nirock proper. Buildings are being renovated and word has it that the spaceport is due for an expansion.

The tensions remain, but they have simmered down for now.

History: Much can be said about the history of Kyrikal 17 and its fight for independence against their overlords on Kyrikal 3, but the main and important part is that: 17 won in the end and regained its independence.

They controlled their own resources now, which they exported back to the technologically more advanced 3 and wealth trickled down back. But as often is the case, when entrepreneurs and businessmen find their way to an opportunity... they will take advantage of it. Guilds started to form around the various mining outposts and they grew powerful. It didn't take long for them to start utilizing enforcers of their own to keep competition either out or at least to a minimum, but it was exactly there that an opportunity started to form.

An opportunity in the way of one [member="Maleagant"] of the Helix Syndicate and Lord Fa of the Manda-Rishi Outfit.

As the Sith Order were making moves around the Kyrikal system, Maleagant and him hatched a plot, where the Helix Syndicate would break the enforcers of one of the more powerful mining guilds and at the same time Lord Fa would bustle his way into the administrative wing (no phun intended) of the Guild.

In the end, through a mixture of blackmail and subterfuge Lord Fa managed to take a controlling interest within the Guild, while Maleagant broke the resistance of its security forces. You may expect that as a Sith the Thirriken would be interested to squeeze as much profit out of his existence, but you would be incredibly mistaken, dear reader.

Instead, the workers of the various mining outposts found their existence improving as some of the wealth found their way back to them. Lord Fa was a bird with a grand vision and it did not include having to deal with mutiny and disgruntled employees at every turn.

The peacock rises.

Intent: To establish another portion of Lord Fa's powerbase.
