The Dren-Trek were developed in the biological weapons division of Al-Khālī's Academy of the Dead by Sith alchemist Seras, who sought to create a supreme bioweapon by combining the Drengir's predatory sentience, Terentatek's Jedi-killing prowess, and Leviathan's life-energy absorption. Using Sith alchemy and bioengineering, Seras fused Drengir spores with genetic material from Terentatek specimens on Korriban and Leviathan remnants from Corbos, incorporating Sea Leviathan traits for aquatic adaptability. The resulting hybrid was designed to dominate Force-sensitive populations and overrun entire ecosystems, terrestrial or aquatic, by assimilating prey into the root-mind or draining their life essence.
