PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Standing just over 6'2 tall appearing to be in his mid-thirties, with a solid muscular frame denoting strength and agility, an authoritative almost military bearing paired with a resolute and confidant attitude he typified what the galaxy thought the typical Mandalorian should be. He, upon first sight, engenders a perception that he is a serious and capable man that, upon closer interaction, is proven to be correct.

Owing to his Kiffari grandmother his face is bronzed completed and chiseled with a strong square jaw, high cheekbones, and a pronounced low brow. He is clean shaven with dark thick curly hair which he keeps short for ease and comfort when wearing his helmet.

Whether in his Beskar'gam, uniform or civilian clothes he always presents a neat well-kept appearance. Even when he is in the field, he manages to maintain a semblance of neatness, discipline, and calm authority to set an example to the men under his command.

INVENTORY

Beskad: Decorated and engraved, handed down by his father and his father before him.

Vibroknife: Because, every now and then, someone deserves a good stabbing.

Stun Baton: For crowd control and CQC.

Stuncuffs: To restrain prisoners or when things get spicy in the bedroom.

Protector-Type Beskar'gam: Typical armor worn my Mandalorian protectors.

G-1A Starfighter: Used as an armed shuttle for his official transportation.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Dral-Kar'ta deeply believes in tradition of the Resol'nare and strives to uphold the six pillars in his personal and professional life. He eschews the dogma of the Death Watch and believes the true way lies somewhere between the tenants of the new and old Mandalorians. Although there is still chaos in the galaxy, with Mandalorian space under Mandalorian control, it is the duty of all Mandalorians to reverse their diaspora and return to their worlds, their people and their Mand'alor.

In conversation his speech is stern and calm and he can be can be terse and blunt almost to the point of acerbically. He can come off as aloof and cold as he does not like to show emotion and it can take some time for him to become comfortable enough to let his guard down. But he does have a soldier's loyalty to those he has serves with and to those have proven they are worthy of his trust and friendship. Once that trust is gained it will be fiercely returned.

He has a strong sense of justice and believes that if one follows the laws and the six pillars they are entitled to protection and succor and if one preys on the innocent, breaks the code, they are deserving of swift justice and retribution. He can be kind or ruthless, strict yet understanding, stern or compassionate as the situation warrants.

He is a tactile man tending to feel as much as observe so is usually acutely aware of his environment. One manifestation of this is that sometimes he does not always observe another's personal space which can be awkward in some social situations. His psychometric ability enables him to be ultra perceptive which he can be very beneficial in his line of work but an unfortunate side effect is that if he meets a person that he is very attracted to he becomes uncharacteristically flustered. In social settings he is friendly and polite but reserved. He does not tend to joke and if he does his attempts tend to come off as dry and a touch sarcastic which some mistake for arrogance or condescension but it is not. Those that understand him come to realize that he may not be the most boisterous and entertaining friend, he can be the most devoted and trusting one.
For Dral-Kar'ta following The Way is easy for the Way is the only true path forward.

STRENGTHS

Psychometry: Can greatly aid investigative and tracking tasks by enhancing the ability to reconstruct crimes, tracking criminals and missing persons. Improves tactical awareness in combat or conflict scenarios by providing insight into an opponent's past actions or intentions, provide clues about traps, betrayals or hidden dangers giving a strategic edge before a situation unfolds. It also enhances emotional and psychological understanding as it conveys feelings as well as memories. It can assist the holder in understanding motivation, detect deception and build empathy or conversely manipulate others more effectively.

Loyal and dedicated: Although he is slow to show trust and friendship, once such is established, he is stalwart and trustworthy. He has few friends so he cherishes the ones he does have.

Crack shot: He has a natural ability with a blaster and is a deadly accurate shot. Bull's-eyeing a womp rat from a T-16 is child's play for him and it is beyond his understanding how stormtroopers could be such poor shots.

Fast Learner: If he can handle the object he can usually figure out how to use it or even repair it in some instances if it has been used by others.

WEAKNESSES

Psychometry: Weaknesses, even though it can be powerful, the benefits come with risks. Firstly, it is very difficult to control even with jedi training which he does not have. The power is innate and can vary in intensity from an almost imperceptible 'hunch' to what can be perceived to be a full-blown panic attack with sensory overload. Overwhelming visions can cause confusion and distress. Makes the user susceptible to emotional overload from traumatic memories especially when in crowded high stress environments. With time it can become difficult for the empowered to distinguish the past from the present or differentiate what has happened to the individual versus what the individual has perceived.

Emotionally distant: He tends to limit his relationships, be they friendly, romantic, or professional to a more superficial level. Even those he does become friendly with can find his demeanor cool and overly formal even if he has deep feeling for them.

Isolation/loneliness: As he is by his nature a friendly and trustworthy person to those he cares about so this method of coping with the intense emotions he can be subject to ironically renders him emotionally unfulfilled while simultaneously feeling emotionally overloaded. He often feels like he has so many other people's memories in his head he has no room for his own.

Over intellectualizes: He relies on logic and abstract analysis of others feelings as a mechanism to limit the effect of assumed emotions often focusing on the "how" and "why" in a detached, academic way.

Over rationalizes: Another coping mechanism he uses to justify the emotions he can not intellectualize. In disconnecting himself from the emotions of others he perceives he can stifle his own and become callous and unfeeling. For example, during combat, he can be profoundly affected by the violence done to one of his troopers then immediately attack and kill an enemy without remorse or hesitation.

HISTORY

The Saandyr clan is a minor but respected clan tracing its lineage on Mandalore back before the Night of a thousand Tears. Like many others, the tempests of war scattered Clan Saantyr into the trade winds of the galaxy and in the shadowy deluge of plague and the scorching fires of war and strife the Clan was diminished to but an echo of what they once had been. But the echo survived and when whispers that their oppressors had fallen and that Mandalore was once again under the banner of a rightful Mand'alor their Alor raised the Saandyr Host, if one would be generous enough to call what was left a host, and returned to their homeland. They had lost much, their ancestral lands were lost, their influence depleted but they had not lost their beskar'gam or their will to fight for their fellow Mandalorian. They still knew The Way and that way now led them to take up the cause of their resurgent Empire.

Upon their return they claimed lands on the sparsely populated and little explored planet of Maridun. And in the intervening decades they have grown their clan, settled and developed the northern latitudes.

Dral-Kar'ta, pronounced draal-kah-ROH-ta, which means Bright Heart in Mando'a, was born into Clan Saandyr of Mandalorian parents but his grandmother was a Kiffari Priestess. He was born and raised in Shi'yayc-choruk, a nerf ranch on the family's clan-lands on Maridun. Even before his formal training at eight Dral-Kar'ta was exposed to skills such as hunting, tracking, riding and equipment maintenance that would prove to be very useful in his formal training. He was a natural shot and was reputed to be able to 'Bullseye a running Fwit from a galloping Orbak at 40 mili-nannoparsecs.' After he passed his verd'goten he joined his uncle the Alor as a page and begun his formal training under the clan's Aliit-jador who noticed his pupil's uncanny perception and persuasive ability suggested he devote himself to spiritual studies but Dral-Kar'ta was adamant on following a more martial path so at 16 was sent off to the Imperial Academy on Mandalore.

He missed his home and family to be sure but found the sights and attractions of the capitol city alluring. The demands and rigors of the Academy was very rigorous but with the stimulus provided by his fellow cadets he had little trouble mastering the tasks put before him. He found that when given a practice Beskad or some comms equipment he easily understood the workings of the item and within a day or two could wield the Beskad or operate and repair the equipment like someone with years of experience. He also found that when given testing materials he was able to, even if he did not study, answer the questions or perform the task with unexplained precision. In fact, his performance was so perficient that his instructors believed he must somehow be cheating but there was never any evidence that he was doing so. During his time there he was not particularly popular but did garner a small group of close friends. He graduated at the top of his class with a reputation for being a serious and able officer with a promising future.

Figuring he would see more action he joined the Customs Police and spent the next few years patrolling the edges of Mandalorian space against pirates and smugglers. There were no grand battles and great deeds such as were told around the campfires but the many skirmishes and encounters he and his squad took part in helped preserve the authority of the Empire for The Way was not only about heroics and fame but also about diligence, duty and dedication in service of the people. His last assignment was as Constable of Maridune where the increased prosperity of the planet caused an increase in settlers resulting in friction with the Amani the primitive warlike indigenous population of the planet.
