"Through victory, my chains are broken."
— The Sith Code
— The Sith Code
OVERVIEW:
Drakul is an Arkanian Sith Acolyte and former surgeon whose obsession with healing ultimately led him down a darker path. While most physicians dedicate themselves to preserving life, Drakul became consumed by a question that medicine could never answer.
Why restore a body to an imperfect state?
Years spent studying anatomy taught him a truth he could not ignore. Flesh weakens, organs fail, bones fracture, and minds deteriorate. No matter how skilled the surgeon, every patient eventually succumbed to the same inevitable fate, mortality. What began as frustration became fascination. Fascination became obsession. Obsession became doctrine.
Now Drakul sees the body for what it truly is, an unfinished design. Through the teachings of the Sith and the power of cybernetic augmentation, he seeks to elevate himself beyond the limitations of biology. Each victory, each milestone, and each step toward mastery is commemorated through ritual sacrifice, replacing a piece of flesh with something stronger.
PERSONALITY:
Drakul is calm, articulate, and calculating. He is cruel to those who do not understand his calling. Their ignorance is infuriating to the Sith. Training and advancing the goals of the Sith have become his new obsession, viewing his path toward ascention in the Sith as a stepping stone to his path toward ascention from his flesh. The stronger he becomes in the Dark Side, the closer he can bring himself to true freedom. He is very intelligent, even among Arkanian standards, so learning and understanding come quite quickly for him. He is not afraid to be the smartest person in the room.
His obsession with perfection leaves him little time for relationships outside the Sith and their teachings. He finds social interaction to be awkward and clumsy. He would much rather speak to the beasts he creates or the test subjects than attend a forum. Drakul finds many Sith insufferable. They mistake volume for authority and passion for intelligence. Endless speeches, grand declarations, and political maneuvering strike him as wasteful distractions from the pursuit of true power. Given the opportunity, he would gladly replace half the speakers in a forum with droids and lose nothing of value.
Drakul is often genuinely kind when discussing injuries, disease, or physical suffering- these are subjects he understands. His bedside manner remains remarkably intact despite his fall to the dark side.

BACKGROUND:
Drakul was born on Arkania and raised among a culture that prized intellect, advancement, and achievement above all else. A gifted student, he pursued medicine and quickly distinguished himself as a talented surgeon. His understanding of anatomy bordered upon obsession, and his peers often remarked that he seemed to know the body better than he understood people.
For a time, he genuinely sought to help others. Yet even a few years spent operating on the sick and dying exposed him to a truth he could not escape. Every treatment was temporary, every recovery was incomplete. No matter how many lives he saved, the body always failed in the end. The realization haunted him.
His search for answers eventually led him to ancient Sith teachings. There he discovered a philosophy that challenged everything he had once believed. The Force did not simply offer power- it offered transformation.
Drakul came to view flesh itself as a limitation. Healing was no longer enough, the body did not need preservation. It needed improvement.
Upon embracing the Sith path, he began practicing what he called the Rites of Ascension. Following every major accomplishment, he ceremonially removes a portion of his own body and replaces it with a superior cybernetic counterpart. These procedures are performed in solitude, accompanied by meditation, Sith scripture, and meticulous documentation.
Each sacrifice is recorded within a journal known as the Ledger of Ascension, where every removed component is catalogued alongside the achievement that earned its replacement. Though still an acolyte, rumors already circulate among the Sith Covenant. Some claim he seeks immortality, others believe he intends to transcend both machine and flesh entirely.
Drakul has never denied either accusation.
