Drain Knowledge/Memory Rub

To boldly alchemize what no one alchemized before
It seems that I have some muse to either have someone use Drain Knowledge on Janick to learn something new or have Janick do the same on someone else.

Alternatively I can always have Janick upload something from her mind into someone else's memory so that person can learn something new by knowledge infusion.

One last thing: if your character is comfortable around dark-siders and wishes to forget something they are otherwise struggling to forget, Janick can also use Memory Rub for that purpose.

This isn't how Drain Knowledge is meant to be used. The technique normally kills or permanently injures the person it has been used, particularly if they are a powerful Force-sensitive.

If we go by Wookieepedia, the suggestion is that it may cause psychological damage. Which can be acted out in any such manner as OP chooses.

It seems important to note that the screen canon version has been used without lasting damage on the subject. It appears more like a more violent Vulcan Mind Meld (Captain Jordan, bruh, wrong franchise!) than a maiming or death knell.

Ultimately, it's how a writer wants to proceed, and the Force is ambiguous enough for it to be curated for specific purposes like these. There's few hard and fast rules so long as all participants involved agree on the outcome.

That isn't how it works in the movies, or a number of novels.

Yeah, that was my thought on that originally. But what knowledge would be learned from her? One of Janick's skills, or are you thinking more of intelligence kind of knowledge?

No he didn't lol
That's strange. I guess Star Wars is wrong, then.

Edit: But I guess you could make the argument that they changed it for the new trilogy, so here's the old version which was used in Return of the Jedi by Darth Vader on Luke Skywalker to figure out that Leia was his sister.

Its kind of like surgery. Either you can get the guy that makes a small cut and removes whatever is needed. Very little to no scar afterword. OR you can get the idiot who uses it that just uses a bowie knife and cuts you open in six different places to finally gets what he wants.

Depends on the user, and how they use it.

Plus, whatever [member="Lily Kuhn"] said.

I would have to say that it may depend on your character's needs and interests. However in either case, you will need to ask me first, to see if Janick actually knows it.

I think I'm going to let someone else take this up. Doesn't seem like my Sith character is going to be getting going very soon and I don't want me to be standing in your way. Sorry if I wasted your time.
