- Rugged design, such as he variable two squadron hanger; tractor beam; and coil flak gun, allow the Dragonsnake-class to take on a variety of missions.

- Engines can overheat.
The Dragonsnake-class picket cruiser, named after the Dragonsnake, is a picket cruiser, a light cruiser vessel designed to patrol the outer edge of fleet formations, or within planetary systems. Distinguished by it's forward "pincer head," and octet of engines, the Dragonsnake-class is a versatile light cruiser, armed with twin particle cannon turrets, twin point defense lasers, and flak coilguns that allow it to handle early interception, and quickly defending against attackers while patrolling. Along with this, the ship possesses a standard set of shields and a reinforced hull and frame, though it lacks a full armor.
Some issues that the ships have includes it's relatively lighter armament and the fact that the eight smaller engines that manage to push the vessel to a greater have a tendency to overheat. While it was suggested a set of four larger engines could solve the problem, supplying these engines was an issue with Clan Gred, and thus the CST's shipyard, on the move again. This leaves the smaller engines as the most viable option.
