Faction Dragon Riders of the Warlords | Warlords of the Sith

Wuncania.

A world of deities.

Located near the edge of the known galactic space in the Tingel Arm, the world - accurately known as "Ntima Visuom," or literally "Dragon World" - was hidden from the Galaxy in a lost system named after a god prayed to only by those native to this planet. It was also, curiously, roaming the stars inside a turbulent storm supposedly inhabited by other gods of this world while additionally resting as the third planet from the sun named after yet another god.

Perhaps because of where it resided both galactically and locally, the world's landscape was one of disorder and mayhem, with seasons shifting every year without any form of predictability and the landscape subjected to cascades of extreme weather events at the highest level for whatever season currently held dominion over the world.

Tornadoes, flooding, and wind storms beyond the available scientific charts beat against the landscape for the duration of spring only to have blizzards and ice storms freeze the world a few months later. If spring were to even last that long.

More intriguing than these aspects, however, were the vast native species of draconic and mythical beasts, the most sentient of which worshiped their gods and goddesses and devils and demons for every single aspect of life. This had naturally given birth to hundreds of thousands of texts for the millions of deities that made up the night sky, the air, the trees, the dirt, the rock and stone, the magma in the core of the world, and every other thing. From the smallest microbe to the tallest mountain to the largest cloud, the natives of Wuncania had a religion perhaps unrivaled by any other in the Galaxy. Mayhaps even the Universe entirely.

It can then go without saying that this world had become somewhat legend even amongst the Warlords of the Sith for a multitude of reasons, paramount among them being the vast cornucopia of land to build upon and subjects to manipulate with the Force. As such, a number of new Sithspawn and militarized forces had been created already on this world for use in further wars the Warlords would wage.

And that was the purpose of this day. And for the many other days that it would take. But this would be done on a more advanced and quite possibly more depraved level than it had been done previously. You see, the Sith were ever hungry. Forever starving for more. More power. More foundations. More beasts to tame and control. More forces to utilize for the toppling of the weak and the old and the opposing. And the Wuncanian natives, many they were, provided nearly endless opportunities for development and sickening inventions.

And so, on the orders of Dread Autarch Kascalion, The Hierophant Vora Kaar, and the Dark Saint of the Sith Darth Voyance, teams of Sith alchemists and sorcerers had been sent to the grounds of Wuncania. Specifically: The Turbulences. Landscapes where the planet's chaos was at its peak and were rent apart by ionic storms of unparalleled size. Yet it was here that the darkness was at its strongest, birthed into existence by the death and decay always warring against each other. And thus, here, the Sith would work in tandem or alone, manipulating the Force and cursing their selected subjects to the effects of Sith Alchemy. Forming them into winged beasts, belching forth the elements whilst leading daring assaults in the sky and on the ground. Or perhaps forged into enhanced hulks capable of lifting entire buildings out of the ground to use as battering rams.

But they would not be working alone.

Alongside these craving Sith, deployed with different orders by their commanding officers, Sith Battle Chapters had been commanded to ensure that the rituals worked as best they could, defending the focused Sith from the planet’s less sentient wildlife, such as the dreaded and incredibly rare Rusenea that once inhabited the Turbulences before roaming out into the planet’s wider lands. Large and incredibly dangerous, they would prove to be one of the greatest challenges to the Sith and the Battle Chapters if they appeared during the rituals. Another prevalent threat near these lands was the Camooqeoksa, humanoid-Ursidae with strange rune-like markings on their forearms and paws. Highly territorial and with burgeoning intelligence, they too would prove to be great threats.

Such was what awaited the Warlords on this world of Wuncania.

A world of deities.

Of warriors and beasts.

Of the Dark Side.

Of the Sith.

This thread is fully open to all FU and NFU members of the Warlords of the Sith Faction. Forge your own personal beast or beasts of legend, clash with the threats of the world drawn to the darkness, and please check out the planet's submission - linked at the top - to get a good view of what the natives and planet are like and how you can work with them. Several sections in the world sub give ideas of what can be made with Alchemy, but you can go nuts! Once this thread had been completed in full, or you simply finished your own story, a special submission in codex will be made to match what you made here!

Worlds of strife and chaos were like magnets to the Sith. Places where the line between survival and death was thin, and those who did not revel in the dark side dared step foot without a thousand more of their ilk behind him.

Wuncania was such a place.

The constant state of cataclysm had made the common folk of the world tough, but not enough so to resist the power of the dark side. They would make fantastic thralls, but Darth Vinaze saw far more value in something else the world had to offer.

Those Wuncanians who survived centuries of blistering elements and natural disasters became grand beasts ruling over the tumultuous lands. They posed a significant challenge to the Sith, but even they would succumb to the superiority of the Warlords. Throughout history, the greatest of Sith Lords had turned brutish and wild dragons into noble war machines.

As the expedition trekked the wet slopes of jagged rock, rain beat down on them with furious anger. The native guide that led the Sith up the narrow mountain trail had insisted on turning back, for the gods of wind, rain, and sky were displeased by the heinous acts that Vinaze intended to perform. The expedition's guards had not wavered at the order to place their guns in the man’s back. The draconic guide said nothing more than directions or answers to questions for the rest of the ascent.

Near the peak of the mountain was a small plateau where the expedition stopped and made camp. Preparations for the capture of the Elder Wuncanian began shortly thereafter. It was only a few more miles up the trail that Vinaze and a team of his best sorcerers would come upon the lair of the beast. The mouth of the cave was grand, indicative of the creature’s size.

The expedition’s guide had given his final plea for the elder to be left in peace. As Vinaze began up the trail, the rain muffled the man’s cries, but it did not muffle the blast bolt to his head.

He could feel the dragon in the force. Even if it knew of the approaching Sith, there was little it could do. It could fight, but the Sith had it backed into a corner. It would eventually relent and submit, as all things did to the power of the darkside.

The cave was illuminated by Lightsaber and flashlight. It was tall and wide though also shallow, taking mere minutes to reach the secluded area where the dragon rested. No one had dared brave these mountains to reach even the plateau, let alone the dragon’s lair. As the lights shined over it, it awoke. It stood to its four legs slowly, with no immediately discernible malice. That quickly changed when the lizard let forth a blood curdling roar followed by words in a deep, serpentine voice and a language Vinaze assumed could only be its native tongue.

Vinaze cautiously drew his sword from its back-sheath and stepped back as the expedition guards began to unleash a barrage of blaster fire on the beast.

If they could weaken it sufficiently they could capture it. It would be a great shame to kill such a being...

The expedition to the remote location had been arduous and something that Drako was not particularly keen on. His reliable steed and companion, an Uvak, would have not faired well on this particular task. They were supposedly on the hunt for a reclusive beast but Drako didn't put faith in rumors and gossip. As the group finally came upon the beast and it roared to action, Drako's open right hand was filled by the hilt of the ancient protosaber attached to his hip. The amber blade hummed and shown brightly in the gloom.

Drako had a healthy respect for all monsters such as this though fear would be a stretch. Every beast could be tamed without exception. True strength, through the Force, was undeniable. Then he stepped first to the side then in front of Darth Vinaze as the guards began to attack the dragon "My lord." he spoke as he saw the caution that Vinaze acted with caution. Drako's free left hand extended towards the creature and with the Darkside of the Force he attempted to begin the subjugation of it ( Monster Manipulator ). The air flickered and wavered around the outstretched hand in a series of slow pulses.

Rumors of obtaining and taming a powerful beast had drawn him to this expedition. But as he trekked up a mountain in horrible weather, he was beginning to question if it was really worth it. He wasn’t even a sorcerer, so he would be relying on the ones who came with him to handle all the monster taming. Right now, he was pretty much just a glorified guard. And while waiting to profit off of others' work was usually something that suited him; the rain, the natives, the atmosphere - everything was becoming more and more tedious.

Luckily before his thoughts could really sour, they arrived at the cave that the natives promised held a great beast. Finally. He stepped forward with his lightsaber ignited, casting a red glow across the depths of the cave. His companions wasted no time as they came up behind him. He barely got a look at the scaly thing before it was lit up, the beast’s roar and what sounded like words immediately drowned out by the sounds of blasterfire.

Well, he would let the experts do their thing. He calmly stood back and watched as hail after hail of blaster bolts rained down upon the creature. Through the fire he couldn’t tell how much damage the beast was taking. He hoped not much, it would be a shame to kill it. Not to mention these beasts were supposed to be quite strong, not the type to die to a few blasts. He ideally wondered what it had been trying to say, and if all the monsters on this planet were capable of speech. If that was the case, if he got his own he was going to have to find someone to teach him dragon-beast, or whatever language the thing spoke.

As the attack continued a knight reached out a hand and he felt the force shift as if to tame the creature. Oh? He watched on with interest. He didn’t possess any beast taming abilities but he did know how to manipulate minds, maybe it worked somewhat similar? He didn’t contribute any of his own force power to the fight yet. He only planned on stepping in if the beast got out of control or when he found one that seemed suitable for his own purposes.

"Good, Drako," he remarked as the knight raised his hand to the beast. He was a man after Vinaze's own heart. "Reach out to it. Offer this magnificent creature a place at our side in the darkness."

Vinaze focused on expanding his aura, letting his own dark energy spill out into the room so that Drako might be able to harness it. He watched as the brave knight worked his magic. If Knight could succeed on taming the Wuncanians , he might prove useful in Vinaze's future ventures.

The dragon began a slow approach, dogged of course by the hail of blasters upon it. After a few steps forward, it began to charge. Vinaze used the force to dash out of the beasts line of motion. It tore into a soldier with its razor sharp teeth and shook the body around, before chomping it clean in half and turning its gaze to another.

Vinaze readied his sword, though he was far from a combatant. Then again, he only had to outlast the beast. If it drove these Sith from its cave, they would return with as many of their warriors as it took to capture it.

The Sith deployed to the world in the forms of Darth Vinaze Darth Vinaze , Darth Mutilice, and Drako Drako had taken well to their work already. Seeking out a being of magnitude. A challenge to be sure, and one that their Master was keen on observing from afar while he worked on his own duties of the day. Would they succeed? Or fail and be shamed in either death or survival?

In the meantime, until such a result was made apparent, his skeletal visage gazed lonesomely at the dark clouds swelling with rain, standing by himself atop the lone peak, his chest filled with rage. Rage. The cloudburst exploded into existence, immediately beating down the world with the assistance of the fall night that rose unimpeded. The dying catastrophic light of the vortex enveloping the world quickly became hidden behind a veil of thunder and lightning, pitchforks of snow-white splitting open the imperceivable bastions.

It was a hell-storm that cracked open the heavens like eggshells and cast down their angels as wet mercury droplets to burst apart on the grounds below. Several hit the skeletal man in the empty sockets of his eyes, which briefly filled with an old red. Red anger of a vainglorious life coming back to memory. A life that had a terribly inglorious end, one that the man would seek to undo.

For in a world like this, the Devil felt at home. Felt that his actions could go on without the prying eyes of the Galaxy judging him and seeking to impede his plans. No, here upon this peak in the Turbulences, he would work without blockades. Without the heathens of the New Imperial Order, or the Jedi. Without the confines of the Dark Praxeum. It was his world, his time, his moment.

"Lord Giedfield," a modulated voice suddenly barked, drawing the Devil's attention from the storm and his thoughts. A Sith Battle Chapter Trooper, a Captain to be exact from the Absolvers, approached with stern professionalism and respect, his rank emblazoned upon his armor's chest plate. "We have acquired the subjects you requested from Shiarmont. We lost a few men in the process, but the Wuncanians have made no demands for their kin's return thus far. Nor have we spotted them following us."

The Devil nodded with a dark approval, and for a moment the Captain could swear that he saw the skull form a true smile. He would have been lying to himself if he ignored the fleeting shiver up his spine. "Good," the Devil said simply. "Bring them to me upon this peak and then take up defensive formations. I want no one interrupting me. Understood?"

The Captain saluted, turned sharply on his heels, and departed back down the path he had ascended to bring the prisoners to his lord. The work would commence and soon, a terrible fate would befall the foes of the Devil.

The amount of power here alone was intimidating. Lords of all kinds had come to take down these draconic beasts. It truly made the young woman wonder why she'd even come along. Wouldn't she just be in the way? Or, perhaps, it was a chance to show off just how far she'd come. Then again, these Sith weren't any that she actually knew. Didn't mean she couldn't feel their power.

She gripped the Stongsteel staff that made up her lightsaber pike. Using the actual plasma blade would prove foolish. The creature was needed alive. Didn't mean she couldn't beat it unto unconsciousness. Watching it rip through troopers was enough of a reason for her to hang back. Not from fear, but to learn. See how it fought, learn. Find the best time to strike. She found it.

With it's attention on another of the poor troopers trying not to get eaten she dashed forward. Just a blur of movement as her passion filled her body with power. She jumped right for the head of the beast, bringing her staff down in that same inhuman strength that her Matukai offered her.
