- Mothership dependent - The Dominion-B draws a lot of power from its HAPU and requires a high amount of consumables. The ship could not be made any larger, so the ship is designed to have regular recharge and resupply whilst docked with the mothership.
The Dominion-B Advanced Escort Frigate is a potent vessel, based on the original Dominion Class, advances in miniaturisation and power generation allowed more hardware to be supported by the existing space frame. Archangel doubled up on this, fitting extra weapons, electronic systems and shielding to better suit the ship to its purpose, to protect the Ashlan Flagship. Unfortunately due to both the ambition of the designer and continued limitations in design space, the ship is now highly dependent on the mothership that it is docked with, requiring recharging of its HAPU and other consumables after relatively short independent operations. There was even the need to reduce the size of the primary hyperdrive in order to save space.
Now, once deployed, they pose a small but formidable force that can defend the flagship from unwanted attention, a ship that thinks it can perform a void strike into the rear arc of the mothership may find itself on the receiving end of multiple proton beam weapons and other assorted anti-capital weapons.
