SPECIAL FEATURES

    • Powerful sensors : night, thermal and infrared vision, built-in sonar, holo-tactical display of the perceived environement

STRENGTHS
  • Surprising speed : Although the B1 seems to be an ungainly and slow tank, his engine allows it in fact able to progress at good speed, surprising the unaware enemy combattant, who is expecting the B1 to move as slowly as his older brother the 2C Super-heavy Tank. As such, the B1 companies are able to flank and break through enemy lines much quicker than it would be expected.

WEAKNESSES
  • Mortal engine : With the more powerful engines reserved for the hulking 2Cs, the B1 were left with weaker, underpowered engines. As such, and while the speed is still good, the B1 lack the autonomy it should have had. The engine knows many mechanical issues, and can often stops suddenly, almost every time an imposing slope is crossed, for instance. Furthrmore, the complicated design of the engine means field repairs are extremely difficult to perform, with the tank needng to go back to the factory for extensive repairs and even replacement of the engine. The most dangerous aspect of this treacherous material is its flammability. When hit with force, the engine is subject to cable breaking which lead to an instananeous fire, trapping the crew in the hull, and most effectively killing it. While these fires can be avoided in cases of extreme cold, they are as deadly as anything the enemy would throw at the tank.
  • Fragile tracks : Such a hulking monster is exceptionally vulnerable when it comes to maneuvrability. In this particular instance, the tracks are the true weak point of the Heavy Tank. If one of the tracks is damaged or broken, the crew would have to exit the safety of the hull to try and repair the vehicle in the midst of the battle, or choose to stay immobilised for an extended period of time, vulnerable to infantry and artillery attacks.

DESCRIPTION
Designed by Brutus's team as part of the effort for an armoured regiment, the B1 was a less successful tank. WIth the good-quality material requested for the 2C, the engineers were forced to molecularly bond the hull to make it more resistant to enemy fire, and used the engines they were given, less powerful and much more dangerous. On the ice fields of Carlac, the B1 was admirable, fending off every attack sent, and effectively constituting the main battle tank of the Anaxsi. However, the flaws of the engine were quickly discovered on hotter worlds, and led to a massive rethinking of the B1 project. As the armoured regiment was waiting his tanks, it was decided to launch full production of the B1 Heavy Tank, but to prepare a successor as quickly as possible, launching the D1 project.
