Djem So me the way.

Yuroic had been assigned to Lightsaber combat, specifically Djem So, part of Form V and one of the more aggressive Forms but essentially become a Force User's bread and butter in terms that most Force User's use it and knowing the Form, knowing the strengths and weaknesses of that Form were crucial if one was to combat the majority of people who used a Lightsaber. Stepping towards training grounds, Yuroic rolled his shoulders and jumped around on the spot. Warming himself as he thought through his first lesson on Djem So, the lesson was interesting in practical terms but the lecturer was not the most exciting teacher in his life.

Stretching himself, he wondered when he begun feeling old and creaky. He smirked to himself, he had a good few decades before he would think about retiring from working on the field. He was still only a Knight, though this teaching assignment was something he was hoping to push himself into chance of being promoted to Master rank. Yuroic left practice sabers around for the learners to take as part of the practical side of the lesson.

Stood tall, he waited at the front of the room for the learners to arrive and take their position.

[member="Cyrus Nova"] and @anyone else interested.

Cyrus approached the older knight at a relaxed pace. He had become more and more excited every lesson he got from the Jedi. Never had he expected to walk among Jedi. The future was looking much brighter than he had imagined. He was excelling quickly to the surprise of many of the masters. Cyrus got stronger everyday. As he had full meals regularly these days his thin frame was filling out to a more athletic build with all the training he had been receiving.

"Hi, I'm Cyrus Nova. This is the Form V lesson?"

He stood in front of the knight wearing tattered desert garb with a training saber slung next to his real lightsaber, looking utterly unspectacular next to the decorated Jedi veteran.

Drystan was stretching nearby, warming up her body for activity. Djem-So was a deeply physically demanding Form, requiring a constant outpouring of energy, and focused on aggression to overwhelm one's opponent.

The Senior Jedi Knight was a Master in Forms 1 & 2, utilizing speed & precision as well as great skill in Soresu to defend & attack; however, she understood that if her enemies were sufficiently aggressive enough, they might overwhelm her. So, at Yuroic's mention of his class, she'd jumped at the chance to practice her skills in one of the more powerful & physical forms available.

Not only did Djem-So focus on power, but the use of unarmed attacks were also within its purview - in preparation of this, she'd wrapped her fists with a small layer of tape to prevent splitting her knuckles. She waited for others to arrive, curious who might show.

A class on a saber form she rarely got to really use in a mission... it was rather nice when you got to practice as Lorna moved into the area. Standing in the green jedi cloak as it radiated the lightside fo the force and her saber was on her hip. Almost a beacon of the force as it was designed to absorb and contain large quantities of force energy itself like the crystal in her palm and the golden bands. Her eyes looking around though to see some of the others when she stepped in wearing the sleeveless training gi robes.

Djem-So was a lightsaber form that Reggie originally believed wouldn't suit him, but it was long overdo for him to learn and practice something other than Shii-Cho. While Reggie was someone that relied on his speed more than his strength, he could still see the usefulness of learning the lightsaber form. Besides, it wasn't like he wouldn't be excited about learning more and improving his skills.

When Reggie arrived to the training area he bowed to [member="Yuroic Xeraic"], greeting the Knight. Enthusiastic as always, Reggie bore a smile on his face and a fire in his eyes at the opportunity to further his skills.

"It's nice to see you again Knight Xeraic. I am grateful to be learning from you this day."

The young Padawan spotted the training sabers and went over to grab one of them. on his way to get a saber, he took notice of the others that were in the training area.

It had been a while since she'd seen Yuroic teaching anything, her old master had...changed recently, no longer the same man that he had been before he vanished into the galaxy. But...there were times when the padawan could still see him, and when he was teaching a class was one of those times. So there was little doubt she'd be here for the class. Hopefully, though, this time wouldn't end with her being stabbed through the leg.

As it was, Djem So was one of the forms of lightsaber combat she was most at home with, but it never hurt to refresh and practice your techniques or to help others learn new ones. The girl span her lightsaber idly in one hand, her back pressed up against a wall as her blue eyes flicked over the room that was slowly starting to fill. This should be interesting.

Yuroic studied the various students that decided to come. Some surprised him, others were unfamiliar faces but he could tell were eager learners. The most surprising person to see at this training session was Drystan, a fellow Knight and a very capable Knight at that. Yuroic wondered if she was there to observe and see how others taught, he was surprised for another reason. The last time they met, Drystan disagreed heavily with his tactics and decisions in a mission. He hoped things would be water under the bridge as they would have to work together in the future, there was little doubt there.

Asaraa was an interesting face to see, he recognised her as Master DragonsFlame's Padawan, there was little else he knew about her bar that she was a very capable and strong Padawan who should be doing her trials from what others have said. Yuroic looked at the others and gave each person a firm nod of his head as he thought on what to say. The Form he was teaching was aggressive and one needed care when learning this Form.

"Djem So and Shien make up Form V, this Form is tricky to master for a Jedi as the user of this Form has to harness the aggression, using more aggressive attacks to overwhelm your enemy." Yuroic stated as he looked them over. "For now, I will show you the Form, then you will copy. Later we will practice with partners." Turning his back to them, Yuroic slowly demonstrated the different moves and stances. "The aim is to not let your opponent get the chance to attack so realistically this Form is done much faster but for now do it in your own pace to get the right attacks."

Drystan had lined up with the rest of the class, fully attentive; saying nothing really to anyone. She seemed wholly focused on @Yuroic Xeriac's instruction. She followed along, finding much of the basics of the class to be a simple refresher - but still, her experience in Djem So & Shien was somewhat limited.

Her prior experience with Yuroic was, indeed, water under the bridge - she'd attended the class out of interest in her fellow Knight's teaching style, as well as for her own capabilities. She was a skilled Bladeswoman, and possessed a significant amount of combat experience against a wide array of opponents - she'd utilized techniques of Djem-So in the past, though she was more experienced in the system known as Shien. Shien provided a Jedi with the ability to deflect blasterfire back into one's opponents, rather than simply away from them.

Around her, her fellow students each joined in the training in their own way.

Knight Xeraic had Reggie's undivided attention, taking in the stance and moves that Yuroic demonstrated. The young Padawan tried to imitate the instructors moves, making sure his stances and moves were correct.

Reggie kept in mind that the moves would be performed faster, picturing in his mind how fast the form would be when he gained a better grip on the technique. He then made a image of how efficient the form would be against another opponent, seeing how he would prevent the enemy from getting the chance to strike him. With the image in his head, Reggie's efficiency in practicing the form improving because of it.

There was a world of difference between using a form of lightsaber combat in combat and practising it in training. Combat was all speed and distraction, a million things all going on at once that you had to keep in mind, it was the time when muscle memory and instinct came to the fore. But now, in the silence of the training room there wasn't any such pressure, it was a chance to perfect your forms, letting the movements sink into your memory until they were like second nature.

The pink-haired Jedi watched Yuroic run through the forms before she pushed off the wall, her lightsaber flipping up off her belt into her outstretched hand. With the flick of a button she ignited the blade, the silver energy streaming forward with the familiar hiss-thrum as she closed her eyes, bringing her saber up into guard as she ran through the forms. Her motions slow, as if she was pushing through a thick treacle. She ran through the motions slowly, 3 or 4 times slower than normal, focusing on each muscle as she tried to perfect her pose before moving.

Yuroic watched as the students of his class practiced the technique slowly, following his footing and movements. It was the most ideal way to remember the precision and understand the importance of where one's body must be placed. His next part would provide the practical use and the need to be fast and aggressive with this Form in particular. Yuroic turned and faced the students and crossed his arms, his eyes studied them all, figuring out partners best suited for one another.

"Pair up, [member="Drystan Marakos"] partner with [member="Lorna Halcyon"] , [member="Reggie Faayare"] pair with [member="Cyrus Nova"] and [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] seems you have the sorry task of being my partner." Yuroic gave a small chuckle and smile to the young girl as he waited for the others to move into position. "This is where our real training in the Form begins, before was important in understanding the Form and knowing what moves are part of Djem So, now you must use the moves but one side will be attacking while the other will defend, I want Asaraa, Lorna and Cyrus to be attacking while the rest of us defend."

"When attacking, remember that Djem So is aggressive Form, do not use your anger however, aggression in the case of Djem So is overwhelming your opponent with attacks so that they are on the backfoot, unable to attack. You are at first testing their defenses and ensuring that you locate a weakness to then overpower them through that crack in their defense. Now begin in your own time." Yuroic instructed as he faced Asaraa with the training saber held defensively.

So...she was going to be taking on the teacher now, well she couldn't say she didn't like a challenge. The girl bounced on her feet, one hand going to her waist, uncoupling her lightsaber as she flicked the switch, the blade coming to life with a familiar thrum. She remembered the last time they'd fought, the unstoppable advance of those arrows. This time though, this was a combat style she was much more comfortable with.

Taking a deep breath Asaraa stepped forward, her blade coming above her head at a 45 degree angle as she let her blue eyes flick over Yuroic's form. Reaching out to the force the girl pulled in the energy, letting her saber come crashing down in a force assisted blow.

Reggie faced his partner, ready for the aggressive onslaught that the form presents. The young Padawan was quite confident in his defense, but he was never overconfident. The strategist in him made sure that he wasn't overconfident, making himself believe that everyone here was more skilled than him. Whether it was true or not didn't matter. Overconfidence breeds mistakes.

"Ready whenever you are [member="Cyrus Nova"]"

Cyrus twirled his lightsaber eagerly watching his partner. The other boy was slightly smaller than Cyrus, but he didn't let his guard down as he had seen many make the mistake of underestimating their opponent.

"Lets do this." Nova said with a smirk.

He used the techniques demonstrated by [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] and swung his blade with a powerful strike towards [member="Reggie Faayare"].

Joury watched and listened closely. Form V was about balancing aggression with defensiveness, as much as Force with athleticism. She was intrigued by the subtle, nuanced techniques which at first appeared to be hacking and slashing but upon closer inspection used delicate slight turns and twists, ever so surreptitiously throwing an enemy's defenses aside and opening them for Force techniques. She had not yet built her own lightsaber, and was forced to use one of the training models kept by the academy. Nonetheless, the sensation of it was exhilarating.

She felt, as quit trying to force the techniques but rather simply let them be guided by instinct for timing and nuance, letting the Force flow through her as she was, that her ability to properly perform them and also her confidence grew.
