Divinal Divide

For hours the servants and staff of the Blue Palace cooking elegant foods and decorating the dining hall. Although normally this hall could fit a banquet of well over a hundred guests, tonight it would only entertain around half a dozen. Despite the lack of quantity, the group was some of the most influential figures in the Cyrstall Dynasty, and tonight was an important night. With the rise of a new religious faction it was time to begin the council of Chaleydonia, to prepare the consolidation of power between the two theocratic factions. On one end of the spectrum Petrovska had to deal with the Jen'Quo, the state religion of the Crystall Dynasty, it's strict hierarchy aimed at appeasing their Deity, Jen'Tevas, in his eternal dreams, or some sort of none sense he had last heard at their most recent state mass. One the other hand, there was the Crysts, a splinter faction of the Jen'Quo who were intent on Galactic peace in the xenophobic eradication of force users, mainly witches, in direct contrast to their mother faction which it's clergy comprised of many force users, especially the Jen'Quo's spiritual leader [member="Etheriud Yvvera"]. What led to the rise in power of the Crysts was the devout leadership of their Archdeacon @Judge Cornelius Cromwell, who had managed to marry into the Crystall family, no doubt at an attempt to further the growth of the Crysts. Petrovska, seeing no other choice, decided to include Archdeacon Cromwell into his court of advisors and other such roles. Now, both religious sects having large amounts of power in the Crystall Dynasty Petrovska had no other choice then to seek out a meeting between the two to soften relations, and prevent a civil war on a scale not seen before in Christophsis in hundreds of years.

The king himself took his time in preparation for the event. His whole day was devoted to this, being bathed and groomed by some of his most trusted servants, his clothes being fitted to give the king an appearance of superiority with his plump body, a side affect of many such occasions such as tonight. Memorization of facts from both theologies, especially of his own religion amongst the Jen'Quo. Even his entrance was prepared for when all the guests had arrived. Today was a very busy day for the king.

At 1900 hours the guests began to arrive, both theological leaders and what counselors and advisors they wished to be accompanied by. His own daughter, Princess [member="Catrina Crystall"] and the family caregiver who would wait as an attendant near the door, @BR-T3 "Zen". Finally would come some parliamentary witnesses, such as a count, and a few barons such as Baron [member="Klesta"], an ambassador of the Crystall Dynasty. Following would come a various amount of soldiers, some to act as guards standing at strict attention at any wall one might glance, and the rest as the entertainment until the arrival of his highness King Petrovska Crystall. All was according to plan, so far.

Klesta

The King of Ergonomic Assessments
By now Klesta drifted in and out of office. He lost re-election as Senator of Hosnian Prime so he had to accept this new commission on Christophsis, where the Crystall Dynasty was offering him to become an ambassador. He worked for the Third and Fourth Republics, and knew them better, than he did the Crystall Dynasty's closest neighbor, the Third Confederacy. They promised not to interfere with the Dynasty's religious squabbles or its draconian laws. Plus the Dynasty's presence in this area of space is a welcome ally for the Confederates as they have fallen through hard times lately, especially because of one Herr Vanderhing causing mayhem and the Sith to riot. Dressed in the finest fineries he had used while he was Senator of Hosnian Prime, Klesta arrived in front of the main gate where the opening ball was to be held, alongside the rest of the Crystall Dynasty court, or whoever in the court could come on Christophsis.

Zen had been assigned to greet the guest, a mundane task but one that need to be done. Earlier that day zen had been preparing for this, he downloaded most important guest's files to better help him in greetings. Knowing who was who was key on this world as most people who held rank were family. Zen was wearing fine clothing made in blacks with hints of gold elegant in its own way, though he hating wearing clothing he preferred to be as someone had said before "nude" non senthics he would never understand them. It didn't take long before the guest came all dressed in finery, counts, barons, ambassadors anyone with rank came in the doors. Their purpose was mainly to see the squabble between the religious factions, religion of what it was held no hold over zen like it did some members of the court. If anything he valued logic and pragmatism then religion they never let him down.

As the guest came Zen would announce them speaking their rank followed by who they were. As zen would do this he'd point them out to princess [member="Catrina Crystall"]. He would run down who they were, if she needed to regard them in anyway, and their motives for being here tonight. He did this pretty fast so if she missed anything she would have to speak up. Zen had been with the princess for awhile now seeing to most of her needs during daily life and doing things she herself didn't feel like doing. Spoiled would be the key word for the princess she had everything and denied nothing, but zen also doted on her in his own way one could also blame him in her behaviors.

As the guest's entered, a jawa came in zen was about to announce him until it spoke up on it's own.

Even in her original time, records on the Earldom of Rosedge's origin were fuzzy. Still, Nefertari was always glad to find a relative, even though the search usually wound up fruitless. Today though, she found that king [member="Petrovska Chystall "] and herself shared a common ancestor. Still, she was here in part to help her distant cousin prevent a civil war. As a guardian of peace and justice, she was glad to do so. Dressed in a fitting fashion of a noblewoman, she arrived at the blue palace. She knew little of the Jen'Quo or the Crysts, but knew enough to keep a low profile with her use of the force around the latter.

The lady entered, getting a strange feeling about the greeter.

The Judge arrived at the party with a scolding frown embedded on his elderly face, he knew that the Jen'Quo and force users would be there. He hoped to burn them all in his lord's divine flame and exterminate the pests from the Galaxy. He immediately went to a far corner of the celebration, folded his arms, and held his head high above others. He wore black buttoned up high collar garments that covered the entirety of his neck, a black overcoat, white very long gloves, black belt, and long black boots. His curly grey hair snarled upon itself slightly, and his gold buttons and gold belt buckle shined in the light.

Catrina would stand to the side of the doors next to Zen. As he pointed out the people she would listen somewhat noting the people and she would be slightly annoyed that no cute guys her age had come in, of course she didn't expect any but it would be nice to have someone to talk to that wasn't Zen or her father. She would listen closely until the Jawa came in, she would be very surprised. She would edge forward somewhat but not too close. She would then step back into line

"Duobe'kaskatul", "Dream Well"

Etheriud stated this greeting to his followers upon leaving their ship. Since the establishment of their faith, the Jen'Qo had drawn many followers from Christophsis and from around the galaxy. On the ship with Etheriud and his two companions were 3 men who were part of a caste of warriors known as the "Virmasi", or "Crusaders", who acted as the guarding and warrior force of the faith. While not necessary, Etheriud preferred always to be safe than sorry. The group made their way to the banquet hall; Etheriud had chosen his finest red robes to give him the elegant appearance of a high priest rather than the simple robes he wore during masses or in public. A grand banquet had been convened to discuss matter of theology, or so Etheriud had been told. This was a trap to get him to compromise with the fanatics that had split off and attempted to purge the ranks of the Jen'Qo from all force users. Fools, Etheriud often called them. They spurned the gifts of The Almighty. No matter, this pointless affair would soon be over and Etheriud could return to more pressing matters. A ways away from the entrance, Etheriud stopped and turned to his followers,

"Remember, when speaking to each other, speak only in the Holy Tongue. Speak in whispers. Mingle with the others and make conversation. Do not let heresy corrupt this system. This is our chance."

With that, Etheriud took the lead and introduced himself to the guards stationed at the doors. His red robes flowed behind him as he took his first steps into the banquet hall, scouting out the room. His lightsaber was hidden in a pouch underneath the robes he was wearing; ready to be deployed whenever. Should the need arise, Etheriud was ready.

Pain.

Pain was all that Korogum could feel as he awoke from a short nap during their trip to the crystal world of Christophsis, as his head throbbed even now. He knew he had dreamed, but could not recall what about. As he followed just behind Etheriud, he recounted his dreams within the past year as being increasingly vivid, all returning back to the events he had experienced deep within the recesses of their establishment on Alzoc III. Shaking his head, and stepping into the lights cast from outside onto the banquet hall's floor, he absentmindedly pored over his attire, brushing off some dust he had accumulated on his clothing, either from the nap, or from the dusty module he pulled it out from on their ship. A sleek, dark fabric accented with tarnished gold colored trim, he had never actually worn it before, but the tailor that had made it for him clearly did an excellent job. Korogum could feel a slight familiarity with the formal wear, regardless of only wearing it now.

As they passed a group of gossipers, he glanced across their party and returned to glaring ahead. A heavy voice in his mind remarked on the setting.

"This place is permeated by a facade of elegance, do not let it fool you."

Korogum was unsure of whether this was his own thoughts, or perhaps the effect of his learnings, gleaning information on his surroundings.

As Petrovska was preparing his information for speaking a major apart of the royal guard, in full dress uniform, marched with long strides towards Petrovska and snapped a salute, "Imperator, your guests have arrived and are awaiting your arrival." Petrovska took in a deep breath and nodded to the major, "I thank thee major, prepare my entrance guard." The major snapped his feet together and saluted before he retreating to set up a royal guard complement. Two servants, both who had served him since he was but a young boy, approached him. one carrying a velvet pillow, his own crone resting atop it. The other took the crown and placed it upon Petrovska's head. Bowing, they backed away as his own royal guard approached, dressed in their finest uniforms. Petrovska swept his fine coat as he turned to follow his own guard exiting his personal quarters.

Doors the height of two men, and the width of five opened into the dining hall, trumpets blared as the royal guard marched into the dining hall. Unlike the drab dress uniforms of the regular army division from whence the dancers had originated, these guards wore elegant uniforms with fancy ribbon and golden epaulettes. Their leader, not the major from earlier, but one rank his superior, a chevalier. All guards and other military personnel already present in the dining hall snapped to attention at their sight. The chevalier halted, as did Petrosvka and the surrounding guard unit, he announced with a booming voice, "All hear to the arrival of his highness, Imperator Petrovska Herkos Slava Ostro Kovsko Crystall, sovereign of the Crystall Dynasty, rightful descendent of the Crystall family." The guards departed and allowed Petrovska to stride forward toward his seat, "Now, please. All be seated as we begin the feast. Those who wish to speak with me are free to do so."

The banquet. Klesta's diminutive stature meant that he couldn't eat as much as even Catrina, let alone Nefertari or Petrovska. As a baron, he was but a simple lordling that like some measure of diplomacy or other social functions his job entailed. He had a taste of that on Dosuun, and later on Alexandria, during the aborted attempt to get the Third and Fourth Republics, to at least be on neutral terms with the First Order. He was next to the aforementionned Nefertari, knowing that he gets along with other Force-users, better than with people who do not respect Force-users. He has seen his share of Force-users in his lifetime, like Jessica (but at the time she didn't strike him as a Force-user), Jack, and they were mostly nice so long as they weren't provoked, and he would expect the same out of Nefertari. Treat Force-users with respect and they will treat you with respect, he thought. But he preferred the simplicity of one knife and one fork: here there were several of them apiece.

"After all I heard about Cornelius, it's a good thing I'm seated next to you: at least I can respect Force-users like you"

As the king enters the room all eyes fall on him and the guards flanking him. he spoke as he reached his seat "Now, please. All be seated as we begin the feast. Those who wish to speak with me are free to do so.". Zen not one for food, would instead just take a seat near the princess and the king or at least as close as he could get. The guest took their seats as the king commanded, zen noticed who sat with who they grouped to make it easy to guess who they favored. If zen could breath he would choke on the smug air of the nobles, they where here to see the struggles of the religious factions and what the king would say on this matter.

The table itself was richly decorated, silks and gold trim covered it. Zen began chatting up some nobles around him, serving as the royal family's personal aide left him privy to knowledge most common nobles would not know. Zen used this as a means of control he would tell a few nobles some secrets that wouldn't cause the royal family harm. The noble's who acted on the things zen would tell them would wind up trapped in a corner, as he would set them up to fail in their attempts to do harm in anyway to the family weeding out the threats to the house.

After he was done speaking he turned his attention elsewhere.

His majesty arrived, and everybody took their places.

"After all I heard about Cornelius, it's a good thing I'm seated next to you: at least I can respect Force-users like you"

"Thank you for the compliment. Indeed, mister Cornelius is one of the more fiery characters I have seen. It would be best to not wind him up."
The Jedi thought of the hilt hidden under her dress as a bit of security. She hoped she wouldn't have to reveal or use it.

Nefertari had found Jawas strange when she'd first been to Tatooine. Now though, she usually found them friendly. The one sitting next to her seemed okay, although confused about the formal setting.

"Start from the outside and work your way in." She whispered to him

"There is one other Force-user I like, that is more like you than most Force-users I've known in my lifetime. Jessica Med-Beq. Last I heard about her, she was serving the Confederacy of Independent Systems, on Geonosis" he told [member="Nefertari Sovint"] next to him.

All too many among Jawas and, for that matter, all too many NFUs in the galaxy, thought of Force-users as people who fought each other for sport using magic. But by far the one he liked most was Jessica, now the lead Jedi in Confederate service. She had brains in abundance, and to him it was a lot easier to get than stunningly good looks. And her vast internal memory made her a highly attractive target for people looking to practice Drain Knowledge on. Then again, would local dark-siders consider Nefertari an attractive practice target for Drain Knowledge? If so, how attractive was she from that standpoint? Yet the words Start from the outside and work your way in may be referring to the order in which the knives-and-forks are used when banquets are held with multiple sets of knives-and-forks for each guest. Or so Klesta would think. But he did not know what to expect: to him, the [Third] Confederacy of Independent Systems was a faction that promised freedom of cult in exchange of which all cults must be corporate-funded. Much like the Silver Jedi are rumored to be.

The judge took long strides as he walked towards the seats and gave a fiery hateful glare to many of the force users of the room. He walked by the two chatting about him, [member="Nefertari Sovint"] and [member="Klesta"], hearing bits and pieces of their conversation he immediately stopped and gave a particularly hateful glare down to them.

"I fear you two have already begun to 'wind up' this 'fiery character'! You're both lucky to be under the protection of the king..... Else I'd call for it that you both be put to the stake! But the lord will bless his merciful soul, while you blasphemous heretics..... Well let's just say he doesn't award those who partake in such disgusting practices as you!..... Now, I recommend that if you are to partake in mindless gossip..... You do so quiet enough so that whomever you speak of cannot hear!....."

Harco Slav adorned his armor and prepared to make way to the banquet hall. It was rare to catch the man outside of his armor in public. Which was why he rarely came to occasions such as this one. His body was adorned head to toe with massive burns, thus making something nice such as a noble's cloak and silk rather... Unappealing. But still with so many religious Zealots of both caste around he trusted the Monarch's safety to no one, but himself. He had heard the whispers. The jeers. The Kings Murderous Hand he had been called. Ever by his side waiting to be unleashed like a feral dog. The truth though.. The truth was Harco was an Errant Knight seeking only to bring honor back to his family's sullied name. He hoped through a life of servitude to the one true King he would be able to hold his head high again someday.

Now he wandered through the palace halls, his armor clanking with every step. His war hammer by his side. Harco was not here to eat, gossip, or plot. Only to protect. He rounded the last curve into the banquet hall just as King Chystall made his entrance. The knight dropped to a knee and waited for the king to seat himself. As he did Harco rose and walked to stand by the Kings side. He let the metal end of his hammer rest on the floor while the handle itself sat in his palms. He stood as a warning to any who would menace the King and his Holy right. A silent, subtle, threat Step out of line and I will cave your skull in.

He watched the nobles eat, gossip, and conspire. He held no animosity to these men and women. For now they were the Kings people and as such warranted his protection.

Mikhail Crystall

Guest
"Dodge!" The man in front of Mikhail yelled. The prince jumped back, barely avoiding the blow. The teen let out a small breath of relief before quickly bringing up his sword again. Of course using swords was outdated on the battlefield ever since the dynasty's military had been slowly becoming more modern. There was a certain refinement of learning how to fight with the sword. Mikhail was quickly pulled out of thought when another strike quickly rushed towards him. The teen quickly blocked the blow. The blades clashed.

"Good...it would be even better you later attention." The trainer said. Mikhail smiled as he jumped back. The boy looked at his trainer and smiled.

"Terribly sorry teacher." The price said as he sheathed his sword. The teacher frowned.

"Sorry?"

"Father's banquet has already started...I shouldn't dally any longer." The teen said as he walked towards his horse. The only thing the teacher did was shake his head slightly in disappointment. Mikhail climbed onto his horse and took its reins. The teen tapped the horse's side with his heels.

"Yah!" The teen said, the horse began to head off for the Blue Palace. Aperantly there was a conflict between the Jen'Quo and the Crysts,...as far as Mikhail knew the Crysts were complete nutcases, their leader [member="Judge Cornelius Cromwell "]had married into the family, this irritated Mikhail, but if father didn't do anything about it neither would he.

The prince's cape flapped in the wind, the teen grew closer to the palace. "Woah there..." Mikhail said to the horse. The horse slowed down to a trot, then to a stop. The boy dismounted and fixed his cape before walking towards the ballroom's door. The guard opened it, he then made his way to the dining area, upon entering the room, he would notice people have began to sit. Mikhail noticed a knight by his father's side... [member="Harco Slav"] ... The King's Murderous Right Hand, Mikhail never took kindly to the knight, but he respected him for wanting to redeem himself.

'Never without your protection father.' the teen though to himself as he walked towards a seat. The price sat across his younger sister [member="Catrina Crystall"]. He nodded to @BR-T3 "Zen"

"Catrina...Zen..." The boy said before turning to his father [member="Petrovska Crystall"].

"Deepest apologies father, I should have been here for your arrival." The price said nervously. He glanced around. Right off the back he noticed an older man[member="Judge Cornelius Cromwell "]no doubt, the permanent scowl burned into his face. Mikhail sighed as he continued to look around.

[member="Nefertari Sovint"] and [member="Klesta"] were having a conversation which Mikhail didn't hear...[member="Korogum"] seemed a shady type. Mikhail kept himself from drawing his blade. A smile plastered his face.

Last but not least was [member="Etheriud Yvvera"] the Jen'Quo leader.... Mikhail didn't know much about the Crysts ..only that they hated "witches" as for the Jen'Quo, it was the dynasty's religion, the family attended mass...mostly for appearance reasons. He listened, but didn't openly admit to it.

Etheriud and his fellows quickly found an area of the room to gather upon entrance. For a few minutes they discussed matters in their holy language, avoiding the rest of the party in order to keep things as calm as possible before the true fun began. Etheriud carried with him a worn book of rites and passages written in a hooked, sharp looking script which Etheriud could often be heard reading in the guttoral and harsh language used in mass. Just a few moments before the king entered, Etheriud recited a short prayer from the book and placed it back in his robes. As the King and his entourage entered the banquet hall, Etheriud gave a courtesy bow and motioned for Korogum and Xhinx to find their seats and for his guards to stand in the corners of the room. Etheriud had requested to be seated near one of the far corners of the table in order to emphasize that he had no wishes to kiss up to His Majesty as many had expected. Etheriud led his group to their seats and sat them down while he pulled his old book once again out of his robes, opening it to a specific page bookmarked for these kinds of occaisions. Before starting, he gave a look around the room to those that had taken their seats already and courtesy nods towards the two children of the King that had recently arrived. He cleared his throat and opened the book,

"Labintias nuyak dolegas. Tikyabajontu nazetoksh tym. Let us pray before we begin. Those that do not know the words or are unknowing of our ways, please stay silent.

Xisad kuskut, nwuloksha.
Aras mes tave sergetiyas,

Dazektouz O'Ari nuo naturasis,
Nuo savakaoksh mes Zhol fasona,
Kristiatul mus.*

Thank you, and I would like to thank His Majesty for hosting this banquet. Dazektouz."

With that, Etheriud took his seat between Xhinx and Korogum, putting his book back in his robe. Etheriud hoped those that were there would be inspired by this common prayer to stand with the Jen'Qo against the heretical fools that stood before him, but Etheriud was not looking for recognition; only faith.

As he joined Etheriud and Xhinx at the corner of the table, whispering the prayer more to himself than to anyone following in it, he glanced across the masterfully set banquet.

The Royal family at the head of the table, with the King at the pinnacle, and his children to his sides. He noticed the son glaring at him with a crude smirk, to which he dismissed it as his attempt to size Korogum up. Even now, his head pains had subsided, but not dissipated as the usual elaborations that go on within it have remained quiet for the time being. He continued glancing across the table, noticing the unusual menagerie of individuals before their holy party.

A Jawa, a Synthetic, and a Jedi. Topping off the oddities was the leader of the Heresy, and the hulk of iron that Korogum surmised was the King's personal guard, and a powerful guard at that. Korogum thought back to the words he had heard in his mind earlier, beginning to wonder what exactly they meant in a room full of people with such clear intentions. He turned to glance at Xhinx and Etheriud, wondering how the events of the banquet would transpire, now that the table was set, like a chess game, all so masterfully.

Catrina's face would light up as she saw her brother, she loved him more than anything else. She would smile a stunning white single dimpled smile. She would smile at Zen. She would look around at the people and notice how many had turned out to see her father. It kind of did her heart proud, she loved her family more than anything in the world. Xhinx entered the flashy and less practical ballroom only with disdain. He preferred to remain silent, and remain watchful over Korogum and Etheriud. This black tower wears an embedded set of dark armor with no clear exit, all enshrouded in thick teared robes covering his head in darkness. Underneath his robes he hides his large hilted lightsaber that looks like a weapon of its own. His gauntlets appear to protrude outward as if the figure has claws, thought no one is sure. Xhinx's armor is that of an oath, it hints at this constant feeling of pain, as some pieces appear to be rather sharp and unforgiving. As the tower entered he saw only those he deemed petty and would not take kindly to those who have broken of off the most holy Jen'Qo.

Xhinx gathered with his group and decided he would not sit, much like Harco he is a warrior knight, after all he must be a vigilant blade for his allies. So he stood in the corner by his congregation. He witnessed all of the other people gathered here and simply watched them. He waited for the King to address his people, so that Xhinx may give offering to the Jen'Qo.
