Disclaimer on the Gen move vs companies.

Hello chaos,

I am sorry to bring the news here but the actions of important major faction NPCs are not dictated by a single faction member or even a couple of them.

The order to seize all non republic company assets inside GR space was never carried out by the bulk of the GR bureaucracy.

The actions of the former GR prime minister was treason to the republic and while there is totally fine to RP nervousness or even that some confused gr administrator wrote a strange letter to your company no real efforts by GR officials.

However, If any company called the GR to check in they would be told that even though the pm has gone mad no companies will be seized.

Folks reacted by spamming threads on this without checking in.

Its the holidays folk, time to open presents, digest food and blow things up. This went to fast for the GR to react properly on.
If anyone had bothered checking in (which still surprises me considering the many site vets involved) - they could have been told the facts on day one.

Gen was given a clone npc army by the GR staff, no other authority. In time her coup might have spread but the whole plot was interrupted and Gens plans broken.

And as things unwrapped the clones barely climbed out of their tubes before they were being gunned down.

Gens power base is on chazwa alone and she is currently even facing the grand master of the jedi order.

Her reign lasted a couple of terrible days, but hardly enough to get much wind anout anything except an awesome showdown on Chazwa.

Thats where we are now.

Alright, now lots of folk will say, we dont give a darn, we will rp this out because we ran with it and we want it to happen.

I guess that is fine and in the spirit of chaos.

But - fact!
The GR government, that foremost is controlled by faction staff and a majority of active faction members, does not support Gens order.

If someone objects outside if the active GR writers to this I guess I will have to ask for a role play judge to handle this.

The fact that people are posting quicker then lightning around this does not/should not remove the general consequences on these boards that major faction actions of this magnitude should, or even must, have a faction administrational backing.

Speed posting should not overshadow time to collect facts and get things straight.

Just consider the consequences if we just go rampart on these things.

Now, since I know there is lots of effort in these many, many posts I assume folks wont just abandon them. But maybe you can adapt from here on.

Folks have rushed to conclusions too fast here. It happens, no sweat but it was the wrong conclusion.

You can shout - "you are ruining s good story" as many times as you will.
You all claim to react on IC events.
Well IC - Gen never got out of her cradle in this one. She never had time to establish herself as the dictator that she had in mind.
Deal with that IC as well.

One can argue that if she had been given time, yes, things could have ended up differently, but she was not. Deal with it IC.

I repeat -
The GR government, that foremost is controlled by faction staff or a majority of active faction members, does not support Gens order.

Make the most of it but you can stop RPing that rep officials are carrying out Gens order.
Tone it down folks, its not as a big ic thing as you are making it.
In fact the poor clerks are just looking around with big blue eyes wondering what you folk are doing.

Cheers!

Oh, and happy new year!

This character barely reacted, but honestly the RPs that I've seen that resulted from this, all done IC, were perfectly normal reactions to the situation that unfolded. Again, this character isn't involved so this is an impartial observation.

Geneviève Lasedri said:
State of emergency: Corporatism had threatened the Republic to trigger all of this. Garter was relocated and investigations into the dealings of Spaarti would be initiated, though there would not be much change to the order of things besides a jumbling of management. The clone armies had been provided free of charge as any good Republic citizen would have done for the war effort.

This was no Techno Union. This was a Repulic--working together for the sake of the nation in times of need. Sadly, such values had been lacking for the majority of the past decade. And so Geneviève ordered what she must.

Arceneau Trade Company (and all subsidiaries, including but not limited to: Browncoat Arms & Industrial, Haven Shipyards, and Mara TibX & Fuels) would be seized within hours, small segments of the fleets concentrated in interception and blockade sectors (particularly concentrated around Brentaal IV, though there were some offices and distribution centers found scattered across the Republic worlds) to nab any attempts at escape or to pick up jettisoned technology while ground forces swept into the physical locations. Perhaps there was not much established by the monstrous corporation within Republic territory, but it helped send a message that they were going to have none of that galaxy-spanning corruption.

The mines and production facilities of those companies who abandoned--the likes of Tenloss--were immediately secured by Republic forces and evaluated for recovery to save funds and manpower. They would be refurbished and reopened soon enough to the public workforce and actually put to use, unlike the products that most assuredly sat in factories for years waiting to be purchased because the owner expected all assets to be in high demand because of a single tank so highly touted by self-same owner who, though he may not have been known to be criminal, was criminal enough to have shuttled the Republic into its initial state of decay.

ECHO Esprit was consolidated and integrated into various institutions of the medical and wartime arts. It would not do to have a hypocrite running a business for profit in a revamped infrastructure. Future charge of operations were handed off to a certain albino, however.

Those companies faithful to the Republic's vitality were left alone, but reevaluations were to be made at frequent intervals.

Sadly, most companies overestimated the strength of their undocumented 'elite' forces in the face of truly elite, documented classes of clone troopers, and underestimated the Republic's access to precious materials--such as phrik ore that could be found on Alderaan. For individual companies to have the ability to go up against an entire government was absurd. And even if struggles were put up, fleet bombardments could take care of that with a snap of a finger.

There was plenty of technology in the Republic's pockets, besides. This would be proven presently.

Lasedri leaned back and watched the multiplying reports of successfully seized assets.

This here, from the thread here -- clearly states what this massive clone army along with republic military that are with the Prime Minister has done, and has seized assets.

I'm sorry, but this already has massive IC consequences on a galactic scale here. There is no taking this back.

Well it has certainly been an interesting 24 Hours!

Let's recap:

The burden of politics [GR dominion for Tholatin] - Prime Minister Genevieve has staged a coup using a Spaarti Creations grown clone army to do her bidding and bring forth the Republic she wishes to form.

The Republic: Red Dawn [ooc/info]

As one of the writers on site who enjoy the Corporate game, this is an interesting bit of Corporate roleplay few ever get to do, much less against a Major Faction's IC leader and what would be a civil war of sorts within the Republic itself; both political and military.

Cutting Ties & Severance - CEC, Tenloss Corporation, AEL, Silk Holdings have all denounced the Prime Minister's agenda and have cut ties with the Republic, seeking to help relocate employees and assets of those affected.

Danger, Will Robinson - Prime Minster has utilized her clone army to start the nationalization of all independent corporations within Republic Territory. Notable affected Companies with locations in Republic Space are:
  1. Tenloss Corporation
  2. Mandal Hypernautics
  3. Salacia Consoildated
  4. Arceneau Trade Company,
  5. Adasca BioMechanical Corporation of Arkania (ADASCORP)
  6. Sasori Research
  7. Damorian Manufacturing
  8. Quill Industries
  9. KSLH Corporation
  10. Justice Shipping Ltd
  11. Aurora Industries
  12. Thaxis Frontiers
  13. Eshan Industrial Corporation
  14. Reardon Metalworks
  15. Apoleia Inc
  16. Mon Calamari Shipyards
  17. Blith-Tech
  18. Xieng corporation
  19. Wisdom Tree Knowledge-Store
  20. BidPac Mining Co.
  21. Johari Mining
  22. iBorg Prosthetic Augments
  23. Arctis Genetics
  24. InterGalactic Exports
  25. Eridium Industrial
  26. Spaarti Creations [Canon]

As a result, Danger has pulled as many connections and favors as she has on hand for an emergency Holo-Conference to come to an accord on how to deal with the situation, for this is sure to cause a stirring around the corporate world one way or another either through primary or secondary effects.

Currently, priority is on evacuating and protecting the lives of all independence corporate entities affected within the area against the Republic Clone Army's unprovoked assault. All means of aide in helping in this endeavor along with the removal of any assets are welcomed.

Corporate Warfare Against the Republic Clone Army - Bounty up and live.

Danger has currently placed a bounty on the Republic Clone Army and to ensure the protection and defense of all evacuating personnel as well as giving additional monies for the reclamation of any seized assets to their respective rightful owner.

The neutralization of the Republic army is another addition to the bounty, and AEL has offered to add onto the rewards by offering custom made technology for those who provide the most aide.

The bounty on Spaarti Creations facilities and production plants are tentatively on hold until verification of the proposed method of neutralizing the clone army is complete. As it is that the CEO of Spaarti Creations supplied the clone army, this is held in suspect and one can only hope for her sake that this is not another form of treachery.

Could this perhaps be the catalyst for Corporate Warfare... or the creation of the largest Corporate Alliance that spans beyond Major Faction lines? Anything could happen!

Not all corporations are expected to join, but at the very least this will make for fantastic Corporate role-play as we interact with each other. I aim to involve the Republic Senate through the Senator of Brentaal IV [member="Ordon Trozky"] and even spin a political twist into this!

The holo-conference will be posted shortly so stay tune!

All that is left is seeing what happens, which has been awesome as seen in the respective threads:

Sorry, but her post and handling anything outside of the clone army was never sanctioned or discussed.

Deal with the facts

The cat's out of the bag now. I doubt that writers will want to stop a story arc that they've spent days and countless posts on. And nor should they. You don't have to acknowledge it, but their RP shouldn't be dismissed or retconned just because you're the new FO and you or your new admins don't agree with the story.

Some faction admins on this board have had to inherited their factions in the middle of an invasion. They didn't try to stop the Invasion and all the RP contained within just because it wasn't sanctioned by or discussed with the new administration.

You probably don't want my advice, but here it comes anyway. As a new FO, the best thing you could do right now to help the community better get along with your new faction administration OOC, is to roll with this storyline as you inherited it and don't try and force people to retcon.

I'm not sure why you're trying to control what other people are writing. If they're reacting IC in a way that's consistent with their character, they should be able to have at it. If they're overreacting, let them figure it out. Bridges are being burned. New bridges are being built. Lots of fantastic posts are being made, and the story has been gripping so far. Instead of trying to control the direction of the river, it might be more fun to try following it to see where it leads.

It.. doesn't matter.

We can play "your reality isn't my reality" and that's cool

But this is the "reality" of almost 20 pc companies and the other five major factions on the board who are reacting to it.

So if you like to say that -- nope this didn't happen! Go ahead!

We will do the same and continue that it did. :)

The plot was launched the same day I was made FO.

Speed posting does not overrule facts.

Deal with the facts.

Alndys

Mercenary, Artist.
Then ICly disavow her actions and make an IC apology for what happened, and I'm sure this will be wrapped up ICly and we won't have to deal with it OOC again?

I mean, you can say she doesn't have the authority OOC and that's all good, but she did it ICly - and if she doesn't have the authority ICly, then we need to address that. If she does have the authority to do this ICly, then it isn't us who need to deal with the facts.

"Speed posting" is also very subjective. There are lots of different posting speeds on Chaos. It's not something one person can control.

Also if the old FAs didn't clue you into this story ahead of time, I really question the communication and collaboration going on inside the GR right now.

Since she never had time to establish herself (as explained sbove). She did not have the IC authority either.
Fact.

Its the holidays, I believe a few days off chaos should not be held against anyone. Especially since this thing is blown out of proportions and was very hard to grasp.

Mantic... none of this is speed posting.

But I won't argue with you on what you want to consider your "reality" of Rp.

We have no broken any rules. The board has events that no one has to acknowledge, much like netherworld and other things. Roleplayers have every right to not acknowledge anything happened at all. That is the amazing thing about SWRP Chaos.

But we also have a right to roleplay what we ourselves want to acknowledge in our own roleplays based on IC actions committed to us.

As it is, consider this my final post on the matter.

Happy rping :)

Deal with it IC, as it should have been dealt with all along. Position as admin or owner of a major faction doesn't give purview to control the story line of others. Even in your own neck of the woods, major factions can't dictate how people should react to things.

Long and short, keep it IC.

I then hope you wont continue to ignore The facts. IC or ooc ones.
Tone this blob of mish mesh down.
