OOC: This sub is a WIP and I expect it will take me at least a week or two to complete. Anyone is welcome to provide feedback at any stage ♥

Still a WIP, no time-related promises.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To enjoy the ban lift on dragons and create a new and unique dragon shifting species.
  • Canon: No
  • Links: [ Provide links to any relevant threads, characters, companies, locations, equipment, etc here. ]
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Diragoni
    Males: Diragonnno
  • Females: Diragonna
  • Others: Diragi

[*]Designation: Sentient
[*]Origins: Niri (Planetary submission to be created in the future)
[*]Average Lifespan:
  • Males: 150 years
  • Females: 200 years

[*]Estimated Population: Rare
[*]Description: The Diragoni are a shifting species, going between dragon and near-human. In dragon form, they are gigantic, regal, and beautiful to behold, harnessing one of four abilities (fire, ice, air, and healing). In human forms, they stand very tall and have softly pointed ears. The Diragoni live in small clusters called colonies, which hold anywhere between three and thirty members. Colonies with a male will usually have more members in them, and each colony will strive to have at least one male. Male births are rare, and the vast majority of this species is female. As such, having a male, either by birth or by purchase, is considered important, and males are treated as prizes. The females of a Diragoni colony, called the Diragonna, are tasked with taking care of the colony; upkeep, education, protection, financial wellness, mental wellness, and more, where as the males, called Diragonno, are tasked with emotional wellness and fertilizing the eggs. More sex-based differences exist between the Diragonna and the Diragonno.

[*]Diragonna
  • Dragon Form: 100 meters
    Tail: 40 meters

[*]Near-Human Form: n/a

[*]Skin color: [ Their commons skin colors. ]
[*]Hair color: [ Their common hair colors, if any. ]
[*]Distinctions: [ Describe the unique physical traits that define what they are and set them apart from more common species like humans. Be sure to include any differences between male and female, as well variations between differing regional groups if any, and characteristics that denote a matured or aging specimen. ]
[*]Races:
  • Akara – the Akara are Diragonna colonies who are absent of a male, and can therefore not have their eggs fertilized. While it is perfectly normal for some of the colonies to be male-less for a few years, the Akara are those who have been stamped as male-less, and both other colonies and they themselves do not believe that the situation would ever change for their colony. Young Akara colonies will often attempt to disband in the hopes of being separated and accepted into other colonies. However, aging Akara members will often find themselves grouping together to keep each other company due to lack of being desired or wanted in other colonies unless they are exceptionally wealthy. They are forgotten females, old females, and females deemed useless and no longer important by their own kind.
  • More to be added

[*]Force Sensitivity: Standard
Strengths:
  • [ Provide, in list format, some strengths of this submission. 2 recommended. ]
Weaknesses:

  • You May Only Have One – A Diragoni may only have one single power (fire, water, air, healing). Once that power emerges, all hope for the other powers is completely snuffed out. No exceptions.

  • As You Shift – while a Diragoni shifts from dragon to near-human form, they are completely vulnerable. They cannot fight, they cannot defend themselves, they cannot use their racial powers, and if they are Force Users, they cannot use the Force.

  • The Lone Dirakoni Does Not Survive – Dirakoni are social creatures who live in close colonies and have very little personal space (by their own choice). A Dirakoni who is separated from others will have their life expectancy cut down by half (on average). Dirakoni who find companionship with non-Dirakoni will also experience a shortened life span, but the shortening will be at a reduced rate.
CULTURE
  • Diet: [ Herbivore, Omnivore, Carnivore, Other (please explain). Note down common foods and preferences, what is poisonous, etc. ]
  • Communication: In their near-human form, the Diragoni communicate as most near-human species, using language and words. The specific language would depend on where they are, as there is no special Diragoni-language. In their dragon form, the Diragoni communicate through body language. Baring teeth and spreading their wings out would indicate intimidation or threatening, and different facial expressions hold the power to express anything from concern to hatred.
  • Technology level: [ Describe their societal technology level if it differs from Galactic Standard. ]
  • Religion/Beliefs: [ If this species has a prominent religion or set of beliefs, describe them here. ]
  • General behavior: [ Describe general behaviors such as: family life, values, how they raise their young, how they find mates, how they interact with the world and other species around them. Do they hunt? Do they build? Are they inventors? Are they explorers? Are they nocturnal or diurnal? Do they attend schools? Etc, etc. ]
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
[ Include a description of the species history here. If your species is genetically engineered or Sithspawn please describe the process through which they were created, by who, and why. Explain the various challenges encountered during their creation. Most galactic species will be quite old - include major events relevant to the species in how they evolved and developed into what they are today where appropriate. Including Chaos canon events, where they impacted the history of this species, is a plus. ]

infinitely curious
I absolutely like the idea and their matriarchal society.

Regarding strengths and weaknesses, I would suggest to add their shapeshifting ability there.
A possible weakness could be that their abilities are mutually exclusive: if you are connected to fire, you cannot in any way handle ice and are bad with air and healing. If you are connected with ice, you are unable to perform healing and are bad with fire and air. If you are connected to healing, you cannot in any way handle air and are bad with fire and ice. If you are connected with air, you are unable to handle fire and are bad with healing and ice. This enforces specialisation among the species and their jobs.
