On the Neutral World of Bothawui, First Secretary Aegeriid Bly 'Bass has sent an open diplomatic invitation to the galactic superpowers in order to discuss the future of the Bothan Sector in an ever changing galactic landscape.

Agents from every side of the galaxy have arrived in elegant robes, dashing suits and opulent dresses to partake in such a vital diplomatic mission although it will not be without tension.

In the magnificent council chambers of Bothawui, characterized by its elegant circular layout with tiers of seating that ascend around a central podium.

The chamber is adorned with intricate Bothan design elements such as ornate carvings and decorative motifs that reflect the cultural aesthetics of the Bothan Species. As the Bothans convene, their voices filled with passion and determination.

Dressed in opulent robes, the Bothan leaders carefully evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of aligning with different factions, their words resonating through the chamber, captivating all who listen. As fiery debates rage on, the tension in the galaxy reaches new heights.

The future of Bothawui and the Bothan Sector teeters on the edge as the moment of choosing sides approaches. Whichever Faction emerges victorious in winning the support of the Bothan Council will gain access to the notorious Bothan Spynet, a game-changing asset in the upcoming galactic conflicts.

This thread will be a diplomacy thread on Bothawui, with the OOC Intention - of convincing the Bothan Sector and its Figurehead to support a galactic faction in a future conflict and gaining access to a spy network.

  • You can come as your Faction's Representative and Plead your Case
  • Come as a Spectator of the Proceedings and even try to subtly manipulate the results
OOC NOTE: This is not a PVP or PVE Thread!

Having arrived only five minutes ago, Alistair couldn't shake the feeling of being slightly out of place at these types of events. He was more accustomed to the finer details of conflict than the nuances of diplomacy. Yet, his years in the Galaxy had taught him that events like these often unfolded like wars—starting off slow and escalating quickly.

Clad in a simple military-styled suit, albeit one that appeared somewhat outdated compared to the attire of the other attendees, Alistair couldn't help but chuckle to himself at the contrast.

"I've never felt more old," he muttered under his breath.

Straightening his suit jacket, Alistair spent the next few minutes mingling with the other patrons of the chamber.

"Council Chief - Do you believe that sending an open invitation is wise?" As the delegations from different galactic powers made their way into the Central Chamber, the voice of one of the Bothan Councilors resonated through the air, reaching the Central Podium where the First Secretary offered them a slight nod in recognition.

The inquiry was definitely rooted in logic, considering the future of the Bothan Sector was in jeopardy due to the constantly changing political environment impacting all systems in the galaxy that were not part of a single faction.

It would be up to the Galactic Representatives to present their case to the First Secretary, the overall leader of the Bothawui and the Bothan Sector as a whole on why they should align themselves with any particular faction over another, although there was hopes that they would guarantee Bothan Independence.

A golden goblet was brought to the face of the despot, as Aegeriid observed the worried faces of his peers before answering the inquiry from the podium's throne. Taking a soft sip of the wine allowed him some semblance of clarity.

"It is not wisdom that will save the Bothan People from potential extinction, Councilor. Only a superpower can protect us from hostile operatives." With a hint of disdain, he retorted, his eyes scanning the room where the bothan security forces stood as a protective shield. Although it was highly improbable for any conflict to arise within the council chamber, a tyrant never placed trust in anyone.

"May the first diplomat make your case." He exclaimed with authority from the podium.

Into the room stepped a familiar black-robed blonde-haired figure, whose smile was appropriately disarming. Onrai's avatar, the form once worn during her mortal life as Vanessa Vantai, daughter of Sith Lord Silara Vantai and onetime face of Sith-Imperial warlordism, was present to seek to bring the Bothan spy network into the fold of the Dark Empire's allegiance - into her allegiance - through more polite and tactical thoroughfare. Onrai had no desire to threaten them, to offer them promises that would inevitably be broken like the last time she had inveigled herself with other forces. That was a foolish and short-term means of maintaining influence - the best thing she could do would be to ensure longer term graces.

So it was that Onrai respectfully waited, as the second to arrive, for Alistair to go first. It was only appropriate.

Alistair's conversation with another member had veered from politics to tales of his extensive military service, capturing his attention until the host brought the event to its focal point. Originally attending as a spectator, Alistair, realizing he was currently the sole representative from the navy faction of the Alliance, decided to redirect his purpose and present a case for why the host and their sector should consider joining the Galactic Alliance.

Approaching the podium, he straightened his outfit, aiming to appear presentable. Clearing his throat, he began, "Esteemed hosts, I stand before you today to advocate for your consideration of joining the Galactic Alliance. I am not a bureaucrat, merely an old soldier, but my experiences within the Alliance Navy have shaped my perspective on the galaxy."

With conviction, Alistair continued, "I firmly believe that our collaboration would not only mutually benefit our respective factions but also safeguard the future from potential threats. Together, we can ensure a future free from the grasp of would-be conquerors and secure the well-being of generations to come."

With a respectful bow, Alistair concluded his speech and stepped away from the podium.
