Diplomacy is a dish best served... steamy.

@[member="Alachei Mnemenos"]

The Mnenchei Monarchy were growing into an ample galactic power, but despite their sound industrial and economic base, they were lacking a navy. Conveniently enough, Grand Admiral Aken Bosch, Supreme Commander of the Imperial Navy, was preparing an official declaration of decommissioning for particular vessels in the Imperial navy. The much-abused Invictus-class Star Destroyers, Captivitas-class Interdictors, and Ravenous-class Corvettes were to be replaced with more modern and powerful ships capable of taking their roles.

And this left an issue of what to do with the decommissioned ships, already being stripped of weapons and systems at Mon Calamari. As a result, Bosch had come to visit a new friend of his, the leader of the Mnenchei, in order to perhaps work out a deal over some of the ships destined for the scrapyard.

__Just days before, Alachei - secretly now High Queen proper of the Mnenchei Dominion -- received a message via holonet from a recent acquaintance. When she opened it, a familiar face revealed itself. She recognized the sender as a man she had briefly met and talked with in a cantina back on Naboo. He mentioned he was an Admiral back then, it seems his claims were valid and he had business to discuss with the noblewoman. Always interested in a potential new ally or resource, the girl gladly obliged to meet him and departed for Kad V as soon as possible. The next day Alachei's personally commandeered vessel, the Crown-class cruiser loaded to the brim with Solace fighters and escorted by a SEWACS frigate and two Indoctrination-class escort frigates, arrived out of hyperspace in the Kad system.
__The escort fleet didn't dock at Kad V, but it did hover low in the upper atmosphere to an extent where it could be visually seen in the air above. A modernized MAAT docked at the research station, escorted by a flight of heavy fighters. The corpsmen went first, rifles and blades in hand, and lead her out into the station in formation. From there, the group was guided to a room where presumably the Admiral and her would meet.
"It's been too long..." said Alachei jokingly, as the doors opened.

"Indeed it has been." The Admiral chuckled. It had been a significant amount of time since the Admiral had seen the Mnenchei woman, someone who intrigued him significantly. And now, she was here. A following group of Galactic Marines were Bosch's escort, and outside, Bosch's new command ship, the Dzu'ari, flanked the area, along with a pair of XoXaans. The Admiral smiled as Alachei took a seat, eager to begin discussion.

"Well... I assume you received my initial communique about why I was here and wished to meet with you, correct?"

__The man couldn't catch the facetious tone behind her comment. Appearing not to be a Force adept, he probably never would. Ah, politics. They were always the same. As expected, the man didn't come alone. The two small fleets must have been very weary of each other, and to an extent likewise with each's marines. If only diplomats and important figures would meet in utter silence one-to-one, half of the world's assassinations would be rid of before their employer even knew to write a contract. To be fair, he was an Admiral and as such would not be expected to be far from a capital ship; and Alachei... well, she just thought it as good a time as any to show the Dominion did have some form of military might. Even though it probably wasn't nearly as grand in scale as it lead off to be. They did have a common concern; the Mandolorians just systems away, who she even knew so very little about.
__"Of course, Admiral. Your Empire has some vessels they would like to do away with, and no convenient way to do it." she said, sitting down sideways in metal chair, getting completely comfortable. "It is not like you summoned me here to tell me you've missed me." Alachei added, still in a completely serious tone.
She was never fond of the Sith or the Empire... but then again, so too was it with the Jedi and Republic whom she believed to be lost in their politicking and distorted zealous views.

"Perhaps I have." He said with a completely straight face. Whether it was a joke or not she likely wouldn't know. Not for a significant period of time. "Well... Let's start the discussion. Of the list of ships I sent you that the Empire intends to scrap, which ones would you like to purchase and have refitted for use under the Mnenchei flag?" Likely the Invictus would be. The Captivitas hopefully would be. And likely many other ships that were currently on transport to a Subach holding yard. The company was purchasing significant amounts of the stripped ships, and intended to refit them for clients - but the Empire would be handling these ships for the time being. Circe would be sulking at the fact that the ships hadn't hooked her other fleet vessels at Serpena.

"I'm curious as to your methodology. It intrigues me."

"You summon me here, ask me which ships I would like from the lot," Alachei said completely straight faced, serious and monotone, straightening her body out properly on the chair and waving her wrist for a corpsman to come over. "And, truthfully, I will tell you 'all of them'.... There is little I do not need," she paused, grabbing a datapad from the corpsman, "and nothing I cannot use." The young queen humbly smiled, betraying the appearance of her rough pearl teeth and jagged bottom canines to the admiral momentarily. "I am always in the market of buying new military wares. The Confederate shipwrights have been more than generous enough to part with a small fleet for next to nothing. However, one cannot build a castle on sand. While I am sure that these ships you offer are in fit working shape and perfectly capable of warfare, they are clearly being discarded in lieu of something better." Alachei paused. She turned the datapad to the side and folded her hands on the edge of the table. "And survival demands nothing lesser than the best."
In concept, everything she said was accurate. Ships that were being decommissioned were not simply so because of the whim of their owners. Yet in truth, she simply wanted to see how well the man would promote his case, likely gaining some insight as to why in the process.

"To Imperial service, these ships are no longer needed. They've expired, ended up replaced by other types of starship. In the Invictus's case, it could be refitted for modernization, but the Empire already has newer, more powerful Star Destroyers capable of taking their roles over. The same goes for ships like the Captivitas, the Dalek, and the Ravenous. They've been replaced by superior starships already." He paused, considering the current situation. "Some of the ships we're decommissioning are rather modern. XoXaan-class Star Destroyers. But again, the rest will be modernized and brought up to proper, modern specifications as to remain competitive. Once we make a deal for these ships, services, new ships not purchased, refittings, etc. will be handled by a third party company who'll be purchasing the remainder of the ships we're scrapping and refit them."

Such a smile situation for ships of this type.

"Hmm...." Alachei uttered. "Then you admit that the vessels you offer are of inferior grade to their successors. While I'm sure that is fine and well since we are not on hostile terms... if you do not trust these ships with the defense of your people - and assuredly you don't to spend such an exorbitant cost replacing them - then how can I be asked to entrust them with mine?" she pointed out. "I may take them... but only for a reduced cost per bulkhead. Three hundred per frigate, four-fifty per cruiser and six hundred per star destroyer. For all of them."
There was no telling whether the Admiral would agree to such cut-rate prices, but then again, she only valued them oh so much and for a bulk order of older ships, it seemed reasonable enough. Part of her offer mocked them, but she was a woman of her word; if she decided to buy them, she eventually would.

(sorry invading the thread for fun, don't mind me I won't talk, because slaves are seen not heard.)
Lyra remained silent and still behind Alachei. She smiled and was glad to be here for her mistress. It was so refreshing to be treated nicely again. Alachei was a way better mistress than Her old ones ever were. She took pleasure serving her mistress and thus didn't mind sitting in meetings with her. She was here to make sure that she wanted for nothing. That was her job and one she happily performed for her.

"That depends on whether you're talking in thousands of credits, or just credits. Rest assured the ships you'll receive will be fully restored to combat-ready capabilities. They won't be simple hulks like you're expecting. Each vessel presented will be refitted above and beyong the Empire's original combat capabilities for it. Your worries of receiving inadequate or outdated vessels are unfounded - I expect Subach to restore them to splendid status, superior weaponry and all. They did develop the Ranator-class Star Destroyer for us, after all." It was then that Bosch noticed the human slave that Alachei had with her.

"A personal question. How much is your servant there worth?" Bosch's intentions were to free this helpless slave who had found herself in the service of an alien, then train her to be a pilot, a communications officer, or something of that sort.

Alachei giggled lightly at the part where he questioned whether she meant singles or thousands.
"Unfortunately the servant is not for sale. She is not a slave - as I have outlawed the practice - only an indentured servant, so I am not at liberty to sell someone who is not my property. Likewise, we of the Dominion and the Mnenchei value blood over currency." Alachei rose from the seat to offer her hand, held down in a dainty position rather than as a handshake. "If we have come to an agreement, shall we call our business concluded?" She smiled. "Lyra, would you please bring the datapad to me again and show this fine man the credits ready for transfer?"
Pressing only a couple of buttons, it would reveal an account transfer pending a target and authentication, showing figures over a billion credits large.

Lyra brought over the datapad as asked and smiled at Alachei's answer. She had been worried for a little bit on if she would be sold, but it seems not.She stayed silent and only assisted Alachei in whatever duty she needed. She was here to serve after all. Lyra was really starting to like her new master. She didn't mind serving her at all. @[member="Alachei Mnemenos"]@[member="Aken Bosch"]

"Then what would it take to acquire her indenturement? I merely wish to train her as a pilot, give her a proper position in my navy. Useful skills and whatnot." He sighed, but stood up and properly clasped Alachei's hand. "I'd consider our business concluded, yes." Taking the datapad from Lyra's hand, he typed in his information, and seconds after the submission was done, more credits flowed to the Empire's banks. "The rest of our scrapped ships are being sold to Subach-Innes. If you require any more vessels from our surplus, check with them."

He turned, moving to sit behind his desk again, and as he did, he smiled at Alachei. "A pleasure meeting you again."
