Rash did not think about the logistics or anything like that.

His mind didn't operate in those kind of terms, instead he was wondering about the challenges, about the scope and about the greatness of the technology that was involved in the creation of this ship. Oh, the Echani had already explored it a touch and found some very interesting readings, but there was still so much to discover about this ship and how to best restore it.

Purkis did not seem to share his enthusiasm too much though.

Which was disappointing. Rash had hoped she would be equally excited about it, but he guessed they all had their different passions.

"Oh, oh, oh, you will! Soon enough, yes." Rash finally responded, while rubbing his hands in glee and anticipation of what would be to come. "I first want your thoughts on some of the preliminary readings and scans we have acquired though, after that we can go inside and see what is happening from up-close."

There was already a happy grin tugging at the edge of his scarred face.

This was his passion.

Hadleigh nods, "of course."

Her passion? She is a shipwright, not an engineer proper. The two had their similarities but also their differences. A shipwright had to look at the big picture: What does the ship do? What will it need to accomplish that task? How can its effectiveness be maximized? How can its risks be minimized?

There were countless more questions of course, but she didn't arrive to quiz him on any of them.

"Well, let's see those readings then," Hadleigh remains eager but still shows no signs of excitement. Certainly the ship itself brought awe to her, but when your entire line of business is the design and manufacturing of starships the whole ordeal loses its charm.

So to answer the very first question, her passion is seeing the flawless execution of a starship's operations.

Different passions indeed.

Rash simply nodded swiftly and then silenced himself.

It was clear that Purkis was less than interested in enjoying a fine talk about the merits of engineering, but that was completely fine in the Echani's book. Not everyone could find their hearts thumping harder while observing the sight of a finely tuned machine or finding their schematic to be working efficiently and perfectly.

There was no judgement to be had, he had learned a long time ago there were few individuals who could match his passion in engineering.

The Verpine were one of them. It was no surprise, then, that Rash kept up fine ties with some of their researches at the University of Roche.

"Here we are then!" He stepped through the door and it hissed closed behind them. The room had been spacious once, but now every table and corner was filled with contraptions, beeping computer screens and other assorted technological commodities, but it seemed not to bother Rash.

He walked amidst them as if they were family, knowing exactly where to go and per extension Hadleigh would know the same once she followed him through the heaps of scrap and whirring machinery.

The screen was already projecting the scans Rash had been talking about.

They seemed to signify erratic power surges within the frame of the Chrysalide. Every single time they had powered up the engines those surges appeared, forcing them to shut the Battlecruiser down again, before the capital guns could burn out or other advanced systems would explode.

"Take your time." Rash left her with the scans and started hunting for the coffee machine he had constructed the other week. It was far better at pressing coffee than the usual machines.

Hadleigh remained quiet when he did.

After following him in the room she took a gander for herself and began to familiarize as best she could with her new surroundings.

Some of it she understood quite well, but there were plenty foreign devices and readings. Things she either didn't understand nor care to try, but of course that was neither here nor there. When Rash produced scans for her analyze, she quickly walked over to the screen and began her examinations.

"Will do," was her only response to his departing statement.

Her eyes remained locked upon the screen, and a single hand navigated through the various files visuals.

The design, in fact, is quite old. Most things of such sizes were. New systems were either too expensive or beyond technological know how to construct for ships of such a scale. That is why battlecruisers and their larger cousins proved disastrous in the wrong hands. "What do we have here?" She mutters to herself in discovery of some obvious concerns.

However, she had yet to define a solution.
