DEVASTATION: Codex Contest

Dev.gif

On August 24th the TSE and ORC will begin a campaign being facilitated with the approval of Staff in an effort to test a new opportunity for “Micro” Events based around existing Faction Rivalries.

For this campaign, The Sith Empire will be deploying a Planet Killing Superweapon and unleashing its deadly potential upon their bitter rivals, the Outer Rim Coalition.

The Codex will be hosting a competition to determine which Custom Planet will find itself in the crosshairs of the Sith Superweapon. The ORC Leadership will select a few submissions from those the Community provides, one of which will be selected to be the planet on the chopping block.

To submit a planet to this competition, simply provide a link in this thread to declare its candidacy. Existing Submissions that fit the criteria are allowed.

Competition will start on today and last until August 12th, 2019.

JUDGMENT CATEGORIES

 • Effort: Is the submission well written, providing opportunities for stories for attackers, defenders, and bystanders to tell a story about its ultimate fate? That’s the main goal and so more opportunities for these stories will factor in.

 • Importance: Why is the planet important enough to warrant such an attack? What makes this planet a strategic target for a world-destroying weapon?

 • Creativity: What creative story elements does the submission provide?

ELIGIBILITY

[member="Makai Dashiell"] they made a new map, and added planets in waves. Custom planets have to be requested by their owners/people who use it to be re-added to the map, they still exist there even if they are no displayed :)

Yes, they made a new map, and didn't go back through the codex to readd all the old submissions. Instead they allowed for Custom planets to be resubmitted to the new Map.

But the planet doesn't HAVE to currently be on the map itself to be viable. So long as the planet does reside in ORC Space, we can always add it to the map later!

So if you'd like to nominate an old submission that hasn't been re-added to the Map, that is fine.

Contest or no, if you or anyone else has a planet submission that exists somewhere in ORC's cloud I heartily encourage you request it be added to the map. I've reached out to the folks I can find who are still around, but its easy for a submission to slip between the cracks or omissions in my amateur detective work connecting old alts to current names.

The Event Judges have reviewed the submissions, both of which were phenomenal entries and we were excited to have the opportunity to read them. Both were detailed and fun. Everyone give [member="Yula Perl"] and [member="Judah Dashiell"] a round of likes for their submissions!

Without further ado,

Sisio has been selected as the winner of the Devastation: Codex Contest!
[member="Yula Perl"] your fancy Bling and Bragging rights await!
