STRENGTHS
- Light Obfuscating - The Sarrassion Iron used to alloy the armor was quenched in blood—often a Jedi's—while forged, part of an alchemical process which hardened the resulting steel to light sided force attacks to the point even Force Light often yielded weakening results, rather than sever the wearer's connection to the Force.
- Strength Enhancing - A thin Exo-muscle underlay afforded the wearer increased strength using powered micro-hydraulics to mimic a second layer of muscles which responded to the Sith's nerve signals using electrodes embedded in the body glove. They could strike harder, crush through a Jedi's defenses and even march longer than the soldiers they fought beside.
- Imperfect Obfuscation - The alchemical process which diffused light side force powers wielded against the armor was imperfect, achieved through cost efficient alloying of Sarrassian Iron and Durasteel, crafted by warsmiths of varying experience. The result was an armor which could only dampen the effects of abilities such as Force Light, which still weakened the wearer's connection to the dark side.
- Eelectrical Overcharge - Electric exposure had troublesome effects on the armor, causing the Exo-muscle to seize or spasm uncontrollably, sometimes overloading the internal components to the point of melting.
- Force Suppression - Protection from the light ceased under the influence of a force suppressive field, rendering the alchemical properties of the steel inert until removed from the field.
Armor worn by the Acolytes and Apprentices of the Sith Covenant, named for their academy on Desevro. Every mask bears different engravings and no two are alike. The Covenant sometimes scavenged them from their own fallen, passing them down to new Acolytes. Some believed it an ill-omen to inherit one, that it passed the fallen's bad luck from one wearer to the next.
Desevro-Type armor was named after the Sith Covenant's first academy, nestled into the tundra's of Desevro. The first to wear it were Acolytes trained there, those who had proven their commitment to the Sith and been allowed onto the frontlines.
They were made by artisans from the House of Iron who collected blood from slain Jedi to be used to quench the steel, alchemizing it.
It became tradition to have them forged for Acolytes who were deemed worthy of joining the frontlines, a sort of first-deployment ceremony, and a great honor. When supplies dwindled on certain fronts however, it was not uncommon for newer Acolytes to instead "inherit" armor in their size, taken from the covenant's fallen.
During the Great Hunt it was not uncommon to see a dozen or more Acolytes clad in this armor.
