The Dark Beyond

As the threat is finally destroyed the ancient machine collapses in on itself. The shards had turned on each other and those that had tried to complete the machine had fallen.
Those who are sensitive to the Force and perhaps even those who are not feel something greater just beyond their senses.
In the blink of an eye you find yourself elsewhere.
You see a world that is familiar to you, but now it has been changed irrevocably. It is dark, frigid cold. A thick mist lingers in the air and obscures your vision. Strange crimson lights flare in the distance and moving objects cast shadowy silhouettes across the mist. Some appear to be monstrous creatures striding slowly into the distance, others scuttle across the ground quickly. There is no life here that you recognise. No technology.
There is no life left that you recognise on this world you once knew.
The vision fades. You are grounded back in your reality. Yet you can't shake the suspicion that something far worse now looms just beyond your perception.
