The holorecording crackles to life showing the central tower of upcity
The grand balcony of Ayumi's Tower. Azure dome light. Waterfalls threading between levels. Crowds filling every plaza from the depths to the spires. Holo-images of her ripple upward through the city. Ayumi steps forward in flowing gold-threaded crimson robes. Long honeyed hair catches the light. She spreads both arms in warm welcome.
"My fellow Denonites…
When I first arrived here from Coruscant, I was an outsider. A stranger carrying old names and older scars. Many of you looked at me with suspicion and rightfully so. Time, and shared work, changed that. You let me prove myself not with words, but with results. Today I stand before you once more, not as a visitor, not as a reformer from afar, but as your Senator reinstated by your will and by the trust we have built together.
Look at what we have already done.
Clean air flows through every level again. Waterways sparkle and invite families to swim where once only runoff collected. Food is no longer rationed or imported at ruinous cost decentralized production now ensures every district, every street, every table has what it needs. These are not luxuries. They are the foundation of life. And they are here because we refused to accept anything less.
Denon has always understood one truth above all: credits are made when people thrive.
Strong workers build towering spires, brilliant innovations, record profits.
Starving workers build little.
Broken workers build nothing at all.
That is why the Ascendancy reforms never pitted prosperity against people. They were designed to do the opposite: raise one, raise all.
When workers breathe clean air, drink safe water, eat nourishing food, when their children can play in open zoos and their families can rest without fear of the next shift breaking them productivity rises. Loyalty rises. Creativity rises. And when those things rise, so do the balance sheets of every corporation on this planet.
I stand here today straddling that beautiful in-between space we all share:
Yes we want every business to make credits. Healthy, growing, record-breaking credits. That is the Denon spirit.
And yes we want every worker to be safe, valued, and well. Not because it is sentimental, but because it is smart. A workforce that is cared for stays. A workforce that is trained, supported, and rewarded builds the future instead of merely surviving the present.
That is why new retention programs and long-term contracts are already in place across the districts.
Not worker replacement worker investment.
Not short-term labor long-term partnership.
Incentives that reward companies for keeping skilled Denonites year after year. Benefits that make staying more profitable than churning through people. Medical care, family support, skill advancement, fair wages tied to rising profits these are not charity. They are the smartest investment any boardroom on Denon can make.
And none of this would be where it is today without the woman who turned our shared blueprint into steel and light.
Dominique Vexx.
She stood with me in the earliest days when these ideas were fragile sketches on a holopad and the galaxy still doubted Denon could change. She brought the partnerships, the resolve, the unrelenting clarity that turned vision into reality securing the resources, negotiating the frameworks, defending our sovereignty when others tried to limit it. Every clean breath we take now, every waterway that sparkles, every family that no longer fears tomorrow carries her signature.
Now she steps onto a far larger stage as Supreme Chancellor of the High Republic.
I have no doubt none that she will carry the same fierce intelligence, the same commitment to practical prosperity, the same refusal to let anyone be left behind. Denon has already seen what happens when Dominique Vexx sets her mind to lifting an entire world. The galaxy is about to witness it on a scale we can scarcely imagine. And because she learned those lessons here among us I know the prosperity she will champion will echo back to every level of this planet in ways that make us all stronger, wealthier, and prouder.
Because when the people who power this world are strong, this world becomes unstoppable.
We have only begun.
The streets are cleaner.
The levels are stronger.
The future is brighter.
And we did not get here by choosing sides.
We got here by choosing each other.
So let this be our renewed compact:
Businesses thrive.
Workers thrive.
Denon thrives.
Together.
Always together.
Thank you."
She lowers her hands. A heartbeat of silence then the roar rises from every level at once, a single tide of sound rolling upward through clean air and new light. Ayumi smiles warm, fierce, playful fire in her honeyed eyes and raises one hand in quiet salute.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Recorded for the records after the Tapani incident and Naboo Riots. The celebration for one of theirr more popular senators ascending to the position of supreme chancellor merited from the people of Denon a grand speech and party. Aayumi leading the efforts as Dominique made it possible for her efforts to reform and improve much of Denon. With the speech being seen as the start of a new era hopefully as Dominique brought many of the boards in line across the planet, brought about the means to get the water clean, the air scrubbed and the foundation of Denon reinforced and improved. The Denon quarterly being designed from several news groups that were failing or would close. Ayumi bought them up and combined them into a singular entity that would be able to deliver news to Denon and show the improvements that were being done widespread.
