Defense of Oneself (Silver Jedi)

Kashyyyk; Jedi Temple
Well. Kahlil was nervous.

Standing alone in one of the various classrooms within Kashyyyk's Jedi Temple the young man paced nervously. Today, he was planning on hosting a class, the first time on his own for multiple people. He, a son of the Sith Emperor. Teaching a bunch of Jedi. He'd been part of the Order for years now, but actually teaching filled him with a sense of worry. What if people didn't like him?

What if he wasn't a good teacher?

Still, no turning back now. He let out a sigh and stopped pacing long enough to glance to the door. Who would even show up to his class?

It was the longest time Thora had ever been away from home, already a week had passed, and it was way to hot. She doesn’t complain about much normally, but she did about the heat, but her Papa had told her that the Temple would be cooler, the Silver Rest it is called, and she supposed that is where people go to cool off and well… rest. And it wasn’t silver it was white, you would think adults would know their colours by now.

It was the most amazing place she had ever seen, filled with all sorts of people although they were odd to her. Walking around in robes of many layers which to her, would not keep them cool at all. Never had she seen so strange a people and like any child would point and ask questions, to which her Papa would try and answer. She never seen anyone with tentacles on their heads before, or purple or pink or what looked like a lizard. It was fascinating and scary all that the same time!

But today she was alone, her Papa had shown her the way to the training room the day before, and Thora was nervous. He had told her ‘it will be good for you’, like oatmeal she thought and there was nothing in the galaxy that would convince Thora oatmeal was a good thing. She made her way along the corridor dressed in her loose leather trousers and cotton shirt which was not tucked in, soft leather boots and her hair pulled back in the Valkyri way with plaits and braids.

‘Be polite’, that was the other instruction from her Papa before she kissed her on the head and left her at the steps. She had frowned at him, her mind thinking of all the times he had trained with Valkyri with his sword and he was never polite, in fact the worst kind of language would come out of his mouth when he thought Thora was not there to watch. And with that thought in her mind, Thora entered the room and did not see the man pacing until he turned. She did not know who he was, most likely someone else here because ‘it will be good for him’.

Thora slipped her bottom on the bench to sit and gripped the edge with her fingers, her eyes darting around the walls wondering why there were no shields or swords or maces or any form of weapon on display, although there where some things which she did not recognise. After discovering there was nothing of interest to look at, Thora watched the white-haired man, he was tall and lean and looked worried. I guess he is nervous too.

“Hi”, that was polite wasn’t it?

Sigyn had been With the Silver Jedi for some time now. How long, she didn't know. Months, at least, though it felt longer. Although she was only a padawan, she had been part of many missions already, even without her master. And it all started because of an encounter With a jedi up in the Mountains back on Midvinter, who saw that she could use the force. She still recalls that day often, thinking about all that happened because of it, and all that could have been different. She missed her Family, her home, but she wouldn't have changed the past if she could. This was where she was meant to be, With the jedi.

But even though she had been With the jedi for some time, she had never learned their fighting styles. Nor had she wanted to get a lightsaber yet. The weapon she had always used was her spear, which she had recieved from her father when she had come of age. She brought it With her almost everywhere. It was a symbol of where she came from. And currently, the only real Connection to her old home.

But today, she would take up a different weapon, though only for Learning. There was going to be held a training lesson in one of the jedi's fighting styles, and Sigyn had of course signed on. She loved fighting, and Learning New ways to do it.

Relax, this will be fine, she thought as she walked the hall to where the lesson would be held. Though she had walked these halls, she was still nervous. She didn't know too many People here in the Silver Rest, only a few she had trained With, or been With on missions. Please let the teacher be someone I know.

She entered the room, and to her relief, the teacher wasn't a Complete stranger to her. [member="Kahlil Zambrano"] had lead a Group she was part on to get their Crystals one time earlier. Sigyn hadn't spoken directly to him, but at least she knew who he was. And from what she knew, he could be be a good teacher. She nodded to him, and said "Good day, teacher."

There was only one other person in the room, and Sigyn hoped there would come more, so she sat Down by the other person there while they waited. The other person was a very Young girl. When Sigyn took a closer look at her, she saw the way her hair was braided: in a way only the Valkyri did. This girl was also a Valkyri. It wasn't often that Sigyn met one of her own species here in Kashyyyk, but this girl was one. "Hey there," she opened, and smiled at her. "I'm Sigyn Vanir. Are you also here for the training?"

[SIZE=11pt]Vattas was old, at least by human standards. 211 years, to be specific. And yet, he was still a padawan since 150 years ago. He was not particularly inept in either combat or studies, being a Hutt, which led Vattas to a theory of his own stagnant career in the Order: they forgot about him. At the beginning there was hesitation for many Masters to take up a Hutt apprentice, both fear of his kind’s lure toward the Dark Side and the fact that his immense size made practical lightsaber training rather awkward and unorthodox. Vattas quickly forgave the Order for these setbacks, understanding their hesitance, and instead took to many decades of self-study instead. His repulsorlift implants made him near-silent as he floated amidst the shelves of the archives, so few heard him. When he would go to train his lightsaber skills, he would always go when it was least busy in the halls in consideration of the traffic and obstacle his size might cause the smaller creatures, so few saw him. After a century, he had outlived most masters and padawans who had been around when he was first initiated, so nobody remembered him.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]The Hutt was quite content meditating and training on his own, though the lack of practical experience had largely held back his furthering of his lightsaber skills and the lack of formal training made his force abilities quite underdeveloped. However, as far as the texts go, he had confidence few else in the order could match him.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Recently, though, Vattas came to the epiphany that he could not let himself continue to close himself off in the shelves. To do so is to deny his presence and abilities in support of the greater good, and thus such passivity was a lure to the Dark Side. Upon this, Vattas slithered out of his corner in the library and signed up for open-roster training classes, intent to re-connect with the personnel of the Order.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Arriving to the classroom, Vattas bowed his head down slightly, the doors made wide and tall enough for most sizeable species such as himself. From his low stance, Vattas floated in, his repulsorlifts plates maintaining his tail remained about 3 inches from the floor, and then rose up to his usual vertical height of 3 meters, though it took a few more seconds before all of his tail had made it inside as well. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Scanning his fellow occupants, he spied the teacher and two young girls. Well, they were all young in comparison, but relatively young for their species. The girls, he presumed, were padawans like Vattas due to their respectful distance from the male and their grouping up, as is usual for students to flock to students. With quick consideration, Vattas bowed to the teacher with no modesty withheld as either a Hutt and elder. “Greetings, Teacher.”[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Then the Hutt moved toward the desks, positioning himself directly behind the two girls. There were two reasons for this placement, first was that he did not wish to become an obstacle for their learning by sitting in front of them and blocking their vision of the instructor. The second was that there was value in getting along with his fellow padawans. They were quite young, and the Hutt had been quite isolated over the years, so he wasn’t quite sure how intelligent these humanlets were yet, but theorized that, based on their youth and small brains, they may also be ignorant of the development of other species and may accept him as one of their own should he present himself as a youth. “[/SIZE][SIZE=11pt]How do you do, fellow kids?[/SIZE][SIZE=11pt]”[/SIZE]

Jasper Candos was looking forward to this class a little too much in his case. He hand’nt looked forward to something like this class since he went to his first class inside the temple. He actually, for the first time in a long time, smiled, not caring who seen him walking smiling or who was around him at all as he headed toward the place where he would get his first lesson in Form lll of lightsaber combat.

“Soresu..” Were the words he silently said to himself as he walks down the halls of the temple while thinking about the third form of lightsaber combat and how he could use it. He was more interested in learning about the force and how to use to help him in the future hence why he came to this temple, but he knew getting information on how to use the different forms of lightsaber combat would help him as well. He wants to learn about all forms of lightsaber combat but he had to be realistic. He knew he wasn’t going to be able to fully learn and master EVERY form of lightsaber combat. But he could at least understand all of the forms basic skills and in terms of Soresu, be an expert at the form.

Finally walking into the area where the Soresu class is taking place. His smile quickly disappears and is replace with a neutral look on his face that no one could use against him. He observe the area and then looked over to the teacher of the class Kahlil Zambrano. He didn’t know him very well other than the fact that he has tires with the sith in a way which did made him interested in him. Maybe he knew force techniques that he could learn from. The Jedi cube he gotten a while back told him a bit about the Sith and while he can’t say he condone the things they did, he did thought that some of the techniques they had could be useful to him.

“I’m here for the class on Soresu.” Where the first words to come out of his mouth. He looks over to the other people in the class and made some notes on each of them. Two girls and a hut. He was a bit surprised that more people didn’t shown up to the class considering how useful the form is with history of it being used as proof to it.

There was something about the anticipation of a lesson about to start, the unknown purity of knowledge about to arrive. You had no idea what you were actually going to learn, what new wonders you'd uncover. It was that sense of anticipation that kept bringing Asaraa back to class after class. She was a more than competent lightsaber combatant, she'd fought against Sith Lords and Mandalorians, stood firm against the best of the galaxy and survived. Her problem had always been that her combat style was aggressive, always pushing and pressing her opponent till they made an error she could capitalise on. Defensive play though, that had always been her weakness, a glaring deficiency in her abilities, something she hoped to start correcting today.

Hands slipped into the pockets of her light Jacket the Jedi padded down the corridor, working more on autopilot than anything else as she navigated the temple, weaving through the never-ending crowd that seemed to constantly throng that seemed to always be flowing through the temple, almost dancing as she span on one foot, almost pirouetting through as the crowd swept by her the flick of a finger swinging the door open as she slipped inside. Made it in time.

"Hi." That was a surprise. Kahlil blinked down at [member="Thora Heavenshield"] curiously, though he kept a kind smile. That's right. Jedi trained younglings as much as they trained teenagers and even adults. Still, she didn't have a lightsaber. How was she going to lea- Oh someone else. Oh. Someone else without a weapon. [member="Sigyn Vanir"] would receive a nod in return. He should of thought about having some training sabers in the room. Did they have any?

He glanced over his shoulder and saw a rack with them. Thankfully.

And then a Hutt. He visibly gulped at the sight of a Hutt coming to a Soresu class. [member="Vattas the Hutt"] was going to have a hard time learning this lightsaber form given it's emphases on dodging. Or maybe Kahlil was just assuming too much? The last two thankfully seemed to have their own lightsabers. But with the training sabers close by it should be fine. Speaking of though, the young man pulled out his own and began fiddling with the settings. He had to turn it down to a level that wasn't going to actually hurt people after all.

"Right, so. We'll get started. Soresu is a form that emphasizes defense, and only defense. You won't be attacking really at all in a battle, instead wearing down your foes through endurance. As such, you want to use as little movements as you can. Place yourself in the eye of the storm and let the Force guide you through it. Make sense so far?" He glanced up once he finished changing his saber around, then motioned to the rack behind him. "If you don't have a lightsaber, go ahead and grab one of the training sabers here. If you do, please set it to it's non-lethal setting. I'd like to avoid any accidents. Once everyone is ready, we'll jump right in to practicing the form. It's easier to learn in the moment, right?" Kahlil gave a nervous and kind smile, glancing between them all. He hoped he'd do a good enough job teaching them.

A young girl come into the room with long red hair, which reminded Thora of her mama, she was pretty too just like her mama and had a kind face. When she spoke, there was something familiar in her words, not the words themselves but in her accent. Thora nodded, yes she was here for the training, "Did your papa tell you this would be good for you too?". But Thora did not get time to hear the answer to her question, not that she would have noticed if she did, for Thora's mouth dropped open the moment the next student entered the room, floated into the room! She had never seen a Hutt before, did not know what they were and her eyes did not leave the Hutt, she even turned her body when the Hutt positioned behind them.

Thora was pulled from her staring when the Hutt spoke to her and the young girl beside her, she realised she had been rude in staring at him and smiled coyly to cover it up. "Hello", it was just audible. As more people entered the training room, her head snapped around taking all of them in, a young man, a girl with white hair like the teacher but each one of them looked nice, there was nothing about them that suggested they weren't. That innate feeling she gets when meeting people for the first time told her so.

The lesson started and Thora did not understand a single word of what the trainer was saying. She remembered this lesson was about sword play so she equated what the trainer said to that. Watching her papa practice with his long sword with other warriors in the Northmark, how he would block a strike before hitting them hard on the legs or upper body. It made sense when she thought of it that way.. and this was about defense. "So we make them tired before we kill them?". Valkryi is Valkyri.

She could not see swords on the wall, only short metal things much like the one her papa has clipped on his belt. Thora had never in her life seen her papa use it, and she had always wondered what it was. Now she was about to find out. Sliding off her seat, she choose one of the metal things and looked at it with confusion. It was cold which was nice, that felt nice in her hand, but how would such a small thing help protect you?

"Are we going outside? It don't look very stormy".

The young girl was adorable. And it seemed she had a father who knew a bit about the jedi, since he wanted his daugther to go here. That was not true for Sigyn, though. She had come here by chance, when she was found to be force sensitive, by a jedi that was visiting Midvinter. This jedi had spoken with Sigyn's parents, and they had come to the agreement that Sigyn was to be trained by the jedi. "Not exactly, no," she answered, just as another being arrived.

This being was huge, and of a species Sigyn was completly unfamiliar With. He, if it was a he, it was hard to tell but sounded like a he, claimed to be a kid himself. Based on the size, he certainly didn't look like a kid, but maybe his species was like that. Anyway, he sounded Nice, and if one looked away from the strangeness of his species, and the metal attachments to his lower body, he looked Nice too. "I'm doing fine," Sigyn answered With excitement in her voice. "I'm Sigyn Vanir, from Reykjaa on Midvinter. I've never seen anyone of you species before."

She didn't get to say anymore, because the teacher was taking the Word. While Sigyn had sat and waited, a couple familiar faces had arrived to the lesson. The other kid, With dark skin, had been on another lesson With Sigyn before, where they learned telekinesis. She still struggled With that a bit. The other one who had come in to the lesson was Asaraa, who Sigyn had first met on a Beach day the Silver Jedi had had some time ago, and later been on missions With.

Khalil explained well, but the fighting style sounded strange. Only defending yourself, and never attacking? How would you win then? She preffered a more aggresive style when fighting an opponent, and get a quick victory. But she'd have to at least try out this form, before dismissing it completly. She went over to the well where the training sabers were, and picked one. It felt weird to hold, and not like the swords she was used to. So this is how the jedi's weapon feels like, she thought, after she had activated it With non-lethal settings. "Are we going to be practicing in pairs, after you've demonstrated how the form goes?"

"A Jedi should never kill someone unless they have no other choice. When your foes are tired, it will be easier to subdue them without the need to take their life." That was something a teacher would say, right? It was certainly the young man's belief on the subject when it came to the peace the Jedi bring the galaxy. "Grant it, you're not going to do much with just a hilt. Here." Kahlil lifted the hilt of his own saber in clear view for [member="Thora Heavenshield"] , and thummed on the switch. His blue blade erupted, humming faintly.

"We'll stay inside for now, as we won't be pairing up." His gaze went to [member="Sigyn Vanir"] , where he'd give a small nod. "Soresu doesn't offer much for attack at all, as I stated before. It won't do any good to try and spar one another with such a form. Instead, we'll cover the main reason why the form was made." A click of a button on his wrist, and the wobbling noise of small, floating droids filled the air. One for each student.

"Blaster defense."

[member="Asaraa Vaashe"] [member="Jasper Candos"] [member="Vattas the Hutt"]

[SIZE=11pt]Vattas, having successfully infiltrated the clique of young’uns, felt a great pride which, with a few meditative breaths, he dispersed through and out of himself. Pride was the folly of his species, a crack in one’s discipline which led quickly to hubris. With a smile toward his new peers, Vattas listened and heard the questions and answers being exchanged through the classroom until the drones appeared. A standard training regimen that the Hutt was quite familiar with, though he hadn’t quite used them as much as he should have. Blaster fire was rarely dangerous enough to a Hutt as is, so the need to defend against such never quite made sense. Now, in his greater perspective, Vattas saw that it was once again pride which had pushed him away from learning and there would be some weapons that Vattas could not simply allow to strike him.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Unhooking his lightclub from his necklace, more than half a meter long, the Hutt activated the silver cylinder, a yellow plasma blade shooting out. 3 meters in length with red lightning wrapped around it, it was quite an intimidating tool to behold, but made for some awkward movements when dealing with the little blaster droids. The first time Vattas had attempted such, he had nearly broken a little padawan, another reason why he had decided against learning much Soresu for so long.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=11pt]Finding himself a corner of the room that gave all others a wide berth of the Hutt, he allowed the droid to fly about him, attempting some of the maneuvers he’d been shown before… but, ultimately, his lightclub ended up cleaving into a wall or two… or three. In normal circumstances, he could not avoid being in tight spaces, which was true for any combatant but especially himself. With a bit of thought, Vattas adjusted, using tighter movements in his inner ring of defense to deflect blasts close to his body, allowing him to avoid destroying his environment without meaning to.[/SIZE]

[member="Asaraa Vaashe"]

Jasper stayed slient throughout the whole conversions that were taking place around him since He figured that, since this is a class on form lll, that some of the other students would ask questions that he was going to as himself. He mades glances to the some of the other students around him in an attempt to better understand them by looking that their clothes and their actions. He tried to make a profile of each person here for the future just in case things go bad for him involving the person in the area.

He first looked over to the little girl ([member="Thora Heavenshield"]) and honestly didn’t think much of her since she was a girl as bad as it might sound but he took notice of Intelligence through her being able to understand the core basic of form lll with the question she asked about making an opponent tired.

He next looked over to the hunt and quickly through about Jabba the hunt as he was the most well know hunt for a time. He thought to himself if the hunt near him was like Jabba but quickly took those out of him. He wasn’t a fan of judging someone based on another person but figured he had some traits that Jabba and his species had. Plus, he was in the Jedi order so he had to be a good being or else he wouldn’t allowed here. This fact was only back up when he saw the Hutt spoke with the little girl.

Next was the woman that looked to be around her age ([member="Sigyn Vanir"]). He overheard her say her name: Sigyn Vanir, and where she was from which he made a note to keep in mind. He soon remembered that Jasper and Signy were in the same telekinesis class together albeit vaguely. He didn’t see much of her since he was looking at other people and he stop looking all together once he started to focus on using telekinesis in the that class. Never the less, Jasper knew that she had some form of skill with the force.

The second he heard the teacher voice he turned his attention to him. Feeling a bit more comfortable know he has a profile on the other students. He hears the man words and see drone being activated causing the young force user to put two and two together. He was glad that he would be learning the form this way. He didn’t like to think about one of the other students using their lightsaber on him or heck one of the training lightsabers that were to given to those who didn’t have one because he didn’t trust anyone of them enough without worry. They were here to learn after all and even through the class was designed to be safe he didn’t want to take any chances unless he had to.

Moving over to the set of lightsabers he grab one randomly and turned it on to make sure it works. After which he turns it off. He quickly looks over the Hutt ([member="Vattas the Hutt"]) and see him using his lightsaber. After watching a wall being cleaved up from the Hutt’s saber, Jasper realized that he was better off he open areas and not closed space.

He went over to the teacher of this class ([member="Kahlil Zambrano"]) and asked him a question: What Soresu technique should I focus on first when dealing with blasters?”

She nearly jumped out of her skin when the metal object erupted in a blade made of light and it hissed at her. The reflection of the light in her eyes, as she stared in wonder before looking down at the saber hilt in her hand. Thora was sudden very excited and afraid at the same time and she found the button Kahlil had shown her, her thumb gently caressed it, willing herself to push passed her fear and ignite the thing. She made sure to point it away from her, this one is not silly and as she applied pressure the blade of green shot out in a loud hum, she almost dropped it.

So that's what that is, she thought of her father now. It was mesmerising, the colour and sound, and gently she moved it and was taken with how is looked and felt in her hand. A large smile pulled at her lips and she turned to the teacher, it was then she noticed the balls floating in the air, spinning and darting about the place. Thora did not hear what they were and had no clue what they were for until the closest one sent a flash of light toward her which struck her on the leg. "Ouch!", and rubbed her upper thigh. It was spinning again following her every movement and it did it again! This time she managed to jump out of the way, and looked around to see what the others were doing. The Hutt was smashing the walls, did that ball send him crazy? or where they supposed to do that.

The quiet guy didn't smash the walls, but used the saber to block the light coming from these thing. Thora turned her attention back to her ball twitching again to have a go at her. Everything was running through her mind, images of her papa with his sword blocking another sword, the words of the teacher and .. "Ouch!". The pain was starting to make Thora loose her temper. The damned thing would not stay still, she tried to jump up and hit the ball and it just dodged her with ease. She knew that was not the point of the lesson but she wanted to smash it, not the walls.

She was watching the ball more closely, focusing on it movement, and was a pattern, at least for now and on the third twitch it fired the light and Thora was ready, her green blade moved, her hands raising the saber hilt upward and the blade fell to block the flash of light. It hit and a burst of pride ran through her body .. just for a second before the ball changed it's pattern and double fired, the second hitting her upper arm and pain ran through her body. "Odiir's hairy ass", she spat out .. words of the father visits the daughter.

The training droid shooting out of the ground was a big surprise. What the force are those for, Sigyn thought when they jumped out. They only looked like small orbs With spots on. It was first when the one in front of her began floating ominously in front of her, and making a strange sound when it moved, that she understood it was what they were training With. She raised her lightsaber in anticipation of what was to come.

But the shot came unexpected anyway. It hit her in her arm, and it felt like she was stung by an insect. And it hurt. She exclaimed something in the Valkyri's Language, Runian, which only the Young girl could understand. But the others could no doubt understand that it wasn't pretty. Even though the shot hadn't hurt too bad, it was the unexpected pain that annoyed her. And before she could react, another shot came, hitting her leg this time.

This robot will learn why you shouldn't anger a Valkyri, she thought as she raised her lightsaber again. But this time, she acted before the droid could attack. She swung her blade towards it, but it dodged it. She attacked again, and again the droid dodged. Sigyn wasn't easy to anger, but this droid was asking for it when it teased her in this way.

After the seventh failed attempt to strike the droid, Sigyn stopped. Calm Down, there is no emotion, there is Peace. She tried to think of what Khalil had said about the form they would learn. Tire out the foe, only defense. The exact opposite of what she had done so far. This was certainly not a form for the Valkyri. But she would try it anyway. She placed herself opposite the drone, holdign her lightsaber high, and focusing on the force. It had helped her feel danger many times before, and would probably do it now too. And it surely did. Almost as a reflex, she blocked the Next shot that came towards her.

She went on trying to Block the Next few shots. But she had thought of something: what if the opponent doesn't tire out, or it takes a long time? Then this form would be Dangerous for the user. It would only prolong the fight, and if you don't attack, "Um, teacher? Won't this form be very Dangerous if facing an opponent With high stamina? And since they are the attacker, then Our chance of victory will be smaller in prolonged fights?

"U- n- Wait." Kahlil watched the group immediately go into practicing the form. He wasn't planning on them using the droids just yet, he just wanted them to understand what they'd be forking with. Well. No matter. [member="Vattas the Hutt"] seemed to understand the need to keep his center tight, though that would just make more effort on the larger being. He stepped over to him first, watching for a moment.

"You have a lot of body to hit. A main focus of Soresu is to use as little movement as you can to conserve your own energy. If you can, dodge a blast rather then bring your lightsaber around to knock it away. But for you, well. Tiny movements won't help against everything." He scratched his chin, pondering an idea. "Do you know how to make a barrier? Perhaps you could mix that in. Instead of dodging, you use small bursts of a barrier to block the shots you can't dodge to better conserve your stamina."

That brought his attention to [member="Jasper Candos"] . Oh dear, there would be a number of attention splitting he'd have to do. He gave the young man a nervous smile. "Have you heard the term eye of the storm? This will actually answer your question too, [member="Sigyn Vanir"] . " He clicked a button on his wrist, and the droids around Jasper and Signyr returned to Kahlil and started their own attack run against him. His attention went to [member="Thora Heavenshield"] who seemed hell bent on breaking the droid, so he nabbed that one too to get her attention as well.

"As I said, you're only goal is to outlast your opponent. The best way is to put in as little effort as you can." He took a deep breath and pressed one last button on his wrist, and the droids activated. Several blasts immediately went off, but rather then use his saber the young man made small adjustments in his stance. Minimal effort, and the shots went by harmlessly. His eyes had closed as he let the Force guide him, and he continued for a moment, only rarely knocking a bolt away with his blade.

After a moment he stopped, hitting the button on his wrist to end the program and send them back to the students. "Feel the Force, let it guide you. It takes some getting use to, but it can be really handy even if you don't end up dedicated hours upon hours to it."

For all her effort of trying to smack the ball, Thora was running out of breath. She gave a look over to the teacher knowing full well she had failed the lesson so far, but how are you suppose to make a ball tired? She cursed her own temper, and was about to set herself again when she heard the young girl swearing in Runian?! Thora looked at her with surprise and equal measure amusement, cause it is fun when adults swear, cause they have lost control of themselves which for a brief moment, brings them back to childhood. But finally she had met someone on the same level as herself, a fellow Valkyri among so many different types of people, she liked Sigyn at the start of the lesson now she liked her even more and she flashed Sigyn a smile.

Which vanished immediately as Kahlil stood before her with her ball in his hand. She was in trouble now, she just knew it and she looked up to his face with sheepish eyes. But he wasn't mad, in fact he was very patient with her regardless of her outbursts and .. and well.. he was kinda cute. Her cheeks flushed, realising she was staring at him.

Thora watched Kahlil move with ease away from each of the flashes of light, he even seemed to know the shift in the pattern and while doing so was able to speak. She tried to mirror his movements, taking notices of his feet and where he placed them each time, which meant she was not watching the ball which when he reactivated it for her, it zapped her forthwith. Thora gritted her teeth determine not to loose her temper once again. She readied herself, this time trying to use the force which she did not do very well but the senses were working and now that the sensation she had always felt as a child had a name, she was able to focus that feeling more.

The ball fired and she side stepped it, and again and once more, before the patterned changed.

"Owwa". It hurt but she kept her cool and the next bolt from the ball, she landed the blade.

Gnost entered the room a little late, having only recently joined the Silver Jedi Order he was still learning a great deal about the layout of the large temple and had gotten himself lost after losing track of time in the archives. Gnost loved the archives and the Archives of the Silver Order were a miraculous thing to behold. When Gnost walked in, he was immediately struck by....chaos.

In one corner of a room a Hutt was redecorating a wall and a smaller padawan appeared to be angry at the small training remote. The other two seemed to be making inquiries of the instructor. It took every ounce of willpower from Gnost to not turn and flee the room in that moment. He wasn't a particularly sociable individual when it came to people of his own age. His time abroad training with his uncle Kian Karr and the Jedi Shadows had taught him a great many things and he'd interacted often with older Jedi....but younger Jedi were far and few between.

"Hello." Gnost said sheepishly and had his face not been masked by the anti-ox mask and goggles, they would see a confused and slightly amused expression on his face. "I hope I'm not to late to join in." Gnost removed his outer robe as he spoke, leaving him in his tunic and pants. He removed his lightsaber from his belt and turned down the power setting, leaving the blade inactive for now.

"My name is Gnost Karr. It's nice to meet you all." He said, attempting to be heard over the commotion and nodding his head to [member="Kahlil Zambrano"] who had recently agreed to take him on as an apprentice.

It was Nice to have a break from being shot at from the droid, when Khalil brought them in. What he said did make some sense. That it would take less energy to make small movements than to Block or deflect every attack. At least it seemed to be working for Khalil when he demonstrated how it was supposed to be done. But she had still not recieved an answer to her question that made sense to her. If the only goal With this form was to outlast Your opponent, it would take a long time before the fight ended, and it would be Dangerous for the defender. And you would have to use some form of attack sooner or later to win the fight. The longer the figth went on, the more chances you would have at being killed if you only defended yourself. Very little of this form made any sense to her. But Khalil was the teacher, so he probably knew best.

"Alright master, I will try. I still have some questions about this form, but I can come With them later."

Sigyn went back to where she had stood before, and activated her weapon again. The drone flew around a little, while Sigyn observed it. Where would the shot come from? When would it come? The second was answered fast, when the shot came a second after she had asked herself about it in her head. It hit her in the foot, but she was prepared for the sting this time, so it didn't hurt so bad. Alright, feel the force, feel where the shot is comign from. She closed her eyes, knowing she felt the force best when they were closed. Feel where it will come from. As if she didn't do it herself, she leant to the left, dodging a shot coming towards her, then she moved her left leg, dodging a second shot.

But her attention was taken away by a New voice in the room. It was like nothing she had heard before, sounding a bit muffled as if the person had his mouth covered. She opened her eyes, and looked to where it came from. "What is that?" she heard herself say out loud. The newly-arrived person was of a species she had never seen anything like. He had Brown skin that looked a bit scaly, and his eyes and mouth were really weird. They looked like some kind of mask, or did he wear masks over his eyes and mouth? And what was that on the sides of his head? "Hello Gnost," she said, but looked away and blushed because she had asked what he was right before. "Nice to meet you," she continued sheepishly.

Listening to the words of Zambrano's answer to his question, Jasper nods to the man in a form of thanks and when back to his previous position where he silently whispered to himself the answer he was given, "Eye of the storm...Eye of the storm" He repeated, hoping to memorize it more better. He felt that he knew what it meant but also thought that there was different meaning to it. Most people tend to think of one thing that they see being simple and straightforward now thinking deeper about it, or that what Jasper seen back at his home planet before he left it. He thought about what the sentence meant first. Now, when inside the storm or the eye of it, that one must stay clam no matter how bad it gets.

He attempts to think about other meanings of the sentence but to no avail. He didn't fell bad about trying though as he always believed that it never hurt look deeper and think deeper. His attention soon shifted over the teacher once again as he spoke once more. The droid that were assigned to him and his classmates were then recalled over the man himself and what happened next was something that Jasper was not about to miss seeing for the sake of his knowledge on the form.

His eyes were practically clue to one area. The area that housed the Jedi Knight using the for of Soresu himself against the drones. Jasper was impressed at what he was seeing. He some solace into knowing that the person whose is teaching this class knows what he talking about and was willing to demonstrate it itself by putting himself in harms way. He wondered how long he been using the form and if that length were the reason he did the moves that he was using. A part of him knew the answer to it but the other half still wanted to ask.

The drone quickly came back to Jasper after the man finished using it to show form lll. Jasper took a deep breath and waited for the first shot to come. Soon enough it did and Jasper quickly reacted by deflecting the blot after making the necessary changes to his form. Putting his training lightsaber to another angle while think his body the same. As he waited for the next bolt to come his way another person enter the room([member="Gnost Karr"]).

Jasper kept his attention onto the drone however, as the drone could still hit him. Deflecting another bolt, he turns his head over the new student that entered the room then back at the drone. All he needed was his ears to hear the man but he needed everything else on the drone. Then, as fast as a bolt of lighting, a new though quickly came into his mind that dealt with the thoughts of what the teacher told him. He thought that the eye of the storm meant to stay clam no matter what and it's still true. But he didn't asked the question that, now that he did and didn't sooner, made him cursed inside. He thought that he would be in the eye of the storm when he is getting attacked and dealing with people that wish to do him harm. To stay clam when it happens and use the form lll to protect himself. But he then thought of a new meaning to it.

"What is the eye of the storm could also be the people who don't want to do harm?"

When the classmate came into the room, Jasper focused some of his attention to him and his words but he focus everything else on the droid. He started to interpret the meaning of the sentences and thought about the idea of the clamminess while inside the storm. He thought the storm would be the people wishing to to harm. But could the storm also be the people who don't want to..

"Ahh..." He winced, one of the bolt from the drone managed to his him causing him to be stunned for a second. He looked over to the wound and examined it. He didn't think it was bad and decided to continue and not say anything. He was sure this happen before to other people and continued on while training and he was gonna do the same.

Kahlil had to stifle a laugh at [member="Sigyn Vanir"] 's sudden question on what [member="Gnost Karr"] was. Not because he found it funny, but the bluntness of her question had caught him off guard. After a moment to recollect himself, he returned the nod to his Padawan. "I'm glad you were able to make it. It's ah, well. Certainly going." Well or not was still up in the air. [member="Thora Heavenshield"] , [member="Jasper Candos"] , and Sigyn seemed to be getting a better hang of it. Sigyn had even went so far as to close her eyes.

Right, he should of explained that a bit more. Whoops.

"You've all shown an improvement already, which is wonderful. Remember, trust the Force. You are the eye of the storm, calm even while the winds and rain are chaotic around you. Trust your instincts. They will not lead you wrong." That was wise, right? Kahlil clicked his tongue as he ran a hand through his hair, trying to seem calm and in control of the lesson as a Jedi should be.

"Though, you're right Sigyn." Right, he hadn't actually answered her question. He was about to, then got completely distracted by something else. "Simply waiting out a storm is dangerous. If the storm rages longer, you will eventually be overwhelmed. With such an emphasis on defense, you play a passive role in combat, taking attacks from your enemy. But that does not mean you can't strike back. I haven't been able to get a hang of it myself, but as your opponent strikes you, openings for counter attacks can be found. Don't rush for it. Study your opponent, learn their moves, their tells. And when you see the moment, you strike." It was something he was going to have to try, now that he actually said it aloud. If he never struck out, he would eventually loose.

"Try it on the droids. I can alter their movements enough to replicate it. If you strike too soon or too late, you'll be hit with a bolt. Remember, you are the calm of the storm. The battle will end, when it will end. There is no need to rush."
