The pain was a white haze in her awareness. And yet, through her affinity with Prejudice, Quintessa registered the impact of her lightchakram’s electrified plasma blade as it bit deep into the Cathar’s flesh, nearly severing her leg in the process. A rush of sensation came over her at that point—anger, relief, and satisfaction.
Then, victory.
On cue, something clicked in her awareness. Then, an alert manifested in her helmet’s HUD. Download complete. So focused was she on slaying her opponent that It took more than a few milliseconds for Quintessa to come back to her senses, before realizing the notification’s purpose. The superweapon schematics she had come for had been downloaded to her OmniLink in full.
It was only moments later that the Cathar unloaded her blaster on the supercomputer, the shots rendering the machine into a burning husk and destroying the ancient, priceless data stored within.
The very last copy of which Quintessa now possessed.
By the time the Jedi was done, the speedster was gone from the complex, leaving only her twitching arm and a high-pitched, yet distinctly pained series of giggles that seemed to echo and bounce around the walls, before fading into nothingness.
