  • Description: Death Squadron is the personal battlefleet of Warmaster Imperius, an iron phalanx of dread purpose and cleansing fire. It is not a patchwork armada of salvaged hulls and exiled warships, but a singular, purpose-forged battle group, comprised entirely of Imperial I-class Star Destroyers, modernized, reforged, and reborn in the foundries of the Iron Empire. At its center stands the Imperator Rex, a towering Imperator-class Battlecruiser, a mobile fortress-temple and throne of war from which Imperius commands his campaigns.

    This fleet is the spearhead of the Iron Crusade, an instrument of annihilation, enforcement, and divine judgment. The crews are handpicked, loyal, and above all, true Imperials, forming a fleet where error is punishable and hesitation is treason. It is a hyper-professional, indoctrinated, and purpose-forged fleet, combining ancient Imperial naval doctrine with the ruthless innovation of the Iron Empire.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Death Squadron's legacy begins in the fires of the Galactic Civil War, as the elite battlefleet commanded by Darth Vader himself. Formed by the Galactic Empire as a mobile strike force to pursue and destroy the Rebel Alliance, the original Death Squadron was composed of multiple Imperial-class Star Destroyers, Interdictors, and the Super Star Destroyer Executor. It gained infamy for its relentless campaigns, including the Battle of Hoth and the pursuit that led to the ambush in the asteroid field above Bespin. Under Vader's direct command, the fleet operated with terrifying precision, utilizing hyperspace interdiction, overwhelming firepower, and psychological pressure to crush dissent. Even after the destruction of the Executor at Endor, the name endured as a symbol of the Empire's uncompromising will to dominate the stars.

The modern incarnation of Death Squadron was established centuries later by Warmaster Imperius, not as a symbolic gesture, but as a strategic cornerstone of the Iron Crusade's military doctrine. Recognizing the enduring power of the name and the lessons of its past, Imperius forged a new fleet composed entirely of modernized Imperial I-class Star Destroyers and led by the Imperator Rex, a custom-built Imperator-class Battlecruiser. Each vessel was either reclaimed from fallen Empires or newly constructed in the Crusade' shipyards. Originally reconstituted in the remote margins of Imperial collapse, Death Squadron now serves as the Iron Crusade's premier warfleet in former Imperial space, executing strategic dominance, enforcing compliance, and projecting overwhelming force across contested territories. It has spearheaded the suppression of breakaway sectors, executed planetary decapitation strikes against hostile regimes, and ensured the Iron Crusade's ascendancy through methodical shock and awe. No longer bound by superstition or ideology, Death Squadron exists solely to impose the will of its high command through cold, calculated military supremacy.

Death Squadron operates in service of a singular, uncompromising objective: the restoration of absolute Imperial hegemony across the Galaxy. Its campaigns are not acts of conquest for conquest's sake, but calculated steps toward enforced unity under centralized command. Fragmentation, independence movements, and ideological divergence are treated as existential threats to order and dealt with accordingly. Where Death Squadron arrives, disunity ends.
