- High Tech: Each card comes packed with a high-capacity storage device and state-of-the-art encryption. Functions as a discreet communications device, allowing them to contact Arris Windrun from any kind of datapad or holoterminal. The card also comes packed with a handful of slicing tools that can bypass rudimentary security on the fly, and more advanced systems in time.
- Resistant: Every card is coated in a multilayer material which protects against ionic damage and environmental hazards such as water, extreme temperatures, and acidic substances.
- Discreet: The cards are very discreet. At a glance, they can easily be mistaken for a business holocard. They are also protected against detection from even advanced electronics scanners and other security-minded sensors.
- Force Link: Arris Windrun, a mechu-deru master and technopath, has left an impression of herself into every card. With a little meditation and focus, the Sith Lord can extend her reach through each card, allowing her to sense and possibly influence any system the cards are connected to.
- Physical Security: While the software integrity and data security of each card is highly assured, the datacards are still a physical device at the end of the day. There are no biometric security features. That is to say, anyone who physically has a card can use it.
- Force Detectable: The presence of Arris Windrun embedded onto every card makes them detectable in the Force. A well-trained Force User can very well discern the presence of these devices in a room or on any person. However, they are still discreet enough to go unnoticed unless you’re really looking for something that way.
- Force Suppression: Any force-suppressive materials or techniques will render the technopathic link inoperable until said conditions no longer apply.
Arris Windrun, leader of the Dead Shens, is used to dealing with problems via proxy. At her discretion, close agents and syndicate associates may be given a special datacard. At a glance, these devices appear to be little more than some fancy business holocards. In reality, however, each one is a state-of-the-art device capable of accessing computer systems for the purposes of contacting Arris Windrun, breaching security, or linking the technopathic Sith Lord directly into the system herself.
Each card is a marvel of engineering - pushing the boundaries of microarchitecture, data encryption, and hardware resiliency. This is one of the reasons only a handful of these cards exist, alongside the fact that Arris doesn’t want these devices just floating out there for anyone to find. Physically, every card comes coated in multiple layers to protect against everything from ionic interference to submersion in water and exposure to extreme elements.
