DESCRIPTION
DDSI developed a proprietary scientific probe droid drone so that they would escape patent concerns when manufacturing and deploying drones in the field. Their probe droid drones are fully automated, have extensive sensor arrays, and varied communications options. The only defenses provided to the drones are ion and atmospheric shields, allowing them to navigate more safely within Ion storms and other similar interstellar anomalies. A Class 10 hyperdrive allows short jumps to nearby planets so that the probes can cover a wider area before returning to the mother ship. These probe droid drones have no weapon systems, but can be ordered to physically collide with a target in moments of extreme need.

DDSI created these drones for its own use on exploratory and research vessels, but will sell them upon request to most corporations or governments. At the time of this writing, this does not include the Dark Empire, which has been embargoed by DDSI due to restrictive and violent trade practices.
