Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Fringes of Nathema System

The Ablution cruised around the edge of the Nathema system, well away from the complex in orbit over the only life-giving planet in the system. Vanessa Vantai had information she wanted to provide to a certain group of people. The unfortunate issue, however, was that as it currently stood, most of the contacts for said group were unavailable. Thus she was now going to approach a new agent, one she had not had a conversation with before.

As usual, there were multiple copies of the information stored and spread across her region of space, intended for long-term preservation in the event the original was lost. Vanessa would not lose said information. Not now, not ever.

Information served the greatest ally to those that so desperately required it. It allowed conquerers to triumph, and defenders to prosper. The Sith, of both denominations, sought conflict and any inkling of information may desperately edge the favour in a specific direction; to a particular force. The Saaraishash certainly knew this more than most, and an attempt to remain inconspicuous had left Agent Harper momentarily departing Bastion in favour of Nathema. Hardly a hospitable location, historically. But, Kole never really had much of a choice; he did as he was told, and left it at that.

An Imperial shuttle had recently arrived in the system, alerting the Sith of their presence, presenting the authorisation codes, and making their descent towards the planet, or the orbital stations that remained above. Either way, they were entirely aware that it were an Inquisition Agent who had arrived. The HRD soon departed the shuttle, glancing back and forth with an indifferent expression as he waited.

Hell, he already missed Bastion.

The shuttle would be redirected to the hangar of the Ablution, where Vanessa Vantai was already waiting. Once the HRD exited the shuttle, he would see the Sith Lord standing before him, flanked by a pair of bloodtroopers. Vanessa was holding within her hand a data storage device made of phrik, intended to survive even the harshest of conditions and capable of being recovered were something to happen to Kole while in transit.

"Ah, Agent Harper. Good to see you were able to make it." Vanessa said. "Come with me." She motioned for the Inquisitorial agent to travel with her as the bloodtroopers moved further away from Vanessa, giving the two of them space. "Once we're in a more private environment, I will elaborate on what's inside this data storage device. Suffice to say, it's something... intriguing."

Intriguing indeed.

The Droid managed to offer the slightest of subtle nods in acknowledgement as he moved forwards, casting an instinctively cautious gaze to the Bloodtroopers that flanked either side Vanessa Vantai; it'd been for no apparent reason, either. Harper had nothing to fear, but he had always been rather untrusting of those-- and a series of armoured killers were never entirely comforting. Kole didn't exactly get informed as to why he was present, too. They sent a meagre Agent in the event something had gone awry, but luck certainly enforced the notion everything were to be perfectly fine.

The Agent moved alongside the Sith Lord, and listened intently to the few words that she spoke-- intrigued, as she so claimed it would be, as to the answer. Yet, he held his own silent reservations. "Understood." He commented, dipping his head in response.

Upon reaching a private room within the complex, Vanessa would motion for the Bloodtroopers to leave the duo, setting the data storage device down upon a table and sitting down. She would motion for Kole to sit down across from her as she began to elaborate on the reason she had summoned the Inquisitorial agent to her region of space.

"A former associate of mine contacted me recently." Vanessa said. "Her name is Darth Ayra, and she gave up on the actual Sith Empire cause long ago - hence why we parted ways. She recently showed up and attempted to persuade me to harm the Sith Empire during any future incursions against the Jen'ari, ostensibly as a means of taking power from Emperor Zambrano. She also confided in me her hidden identity as Ella Nova, a Jedi Knight assumedly in the New Republic or some other faction those sorts of people ran off to. Evidently an offer like this was also made to a 'Grond,' someone else within the Empire as well."

Vanessa locked her fingers. "I have made it as unequivocally clear as I can that the Maldrood and my operations in this sector are for use in preservation of the Empire should something go catastrophically wrong. I have also made it clear that I have no intentions of sabotaging Emperor Zambrano's goals, or attempting to usurp him with the assets I possess. This woman, however... she is evidently approaching multiple individuals within the Empire, seeking to find the chink in someone's loyalty so she can worm her way in. Given my past association with her prior to her scorning of the Empire for the failed concept of the Rule of Two, I do not desire to be falsely implicated should she succeed and turn individuals, Sith or Imperial, to her cause."

She leaned back in her chair. "All information I have regarding Ayra is on this data storage device. In the event something happens to you, the device's phrik casing will protect it from harm. I also have multiple duplicates extant at locations around my territory in order to ensure at least one copy of the information will survive. On the device is a hologram of her current appearance as well as all information I was able to scrounge from her and on her during and after our conversation. Please take this to the appropriate individuals so this issue can be dealt with accordingly."

Kole idly observed every location that the two, along with the escort, seemed to venture-- his synthetic orbs absorbed each sight, and his artificial mind processed everything rather rapidly at a speed far faster than any organic brain could possibly intend. He seemed particularly indifferent throughout their brief travel, as the HRD often displayed blank expressions that had hardly been capable of telling anything. Perhaps a blessing, and possibly a curse. He never truthfully knew, nor bothered to ask such questions. Things had always been easier that way.

The Agent briefly averted his eyes to the Bloodtroopers as they vacated the room, of course, but then returned his attention towards the Sith Lord before settling himself down in the seat opposite of herself. He remained seemingly indifferent, still, but intently listened whilst unintentionally concealing his own curiosities. Ultimately, at her conclusion, he questioned, "Is that all?"

"Do you have any questions?" Vanessa was rather surprised by the agent's response - she at least figured he would have more inquiries regarding the Maldrood, Vanessa's past connections with Ayra, or generally anything else. That he did not was... a bit disconcerting. Vanessa did not know Kole was a human replica droid, nor was there currently a way for her to find out, though the lack of a Force signature was certainly unusual. Perhaps he had been altered by the Vong, or been part of some experimental program. Whatever the reasoning, Vanessa had no issues with him so long as he served the Empire faithfully.

"If not..." She motioned to the doorway.

It might've been far from his place to question that of a Sith Lord, especially one that requested the presence of an Agent. He hadn't necessarily thought of any questions, either, and merely existed as a messenger as of now. The HRD, despite it never being answered, received his answer rather promptly. He, or it, whichever one truly preferred, offered another subtle and slight nod of acknowledgement. "Thank you for your time." He softly responded alongside the movement of his head, accompanied by a fleeting, polite grin. He had only arrived for one thing, and with it in his possession, he could leave.

The Droid motioned to stand, disappearing through the doorway in his venture back towards the shuttle he arrived on with the datapad now cemented in his possession. Soon to return to Bastion where he'd turn this into a superior where it would eventually rise, and rise, and rise all the way to the very top.
