STRENGTHS

  • Allows a Wide Range of Movement: The robes offer minimal protection but compensate with freedom of movement. Vhalor can fight, cast rituals, and travel without worrying about his robes getting in the way.
  • Light Protection: While made primarily of treated fabric, the armorweave underneath the robes can stop blaster fire and mitigate other damage.
  • Concealment: Rather than broadcasting his presence, Vhalor's robes obscure his silhouette and identity. Anything beyond vague description is concealed by the layers of fabric.
  • Environmental Protection: The robes can withstand rain, dust storms, cold weather, and similar environmental effects.
  • Artifact Storage: Hidden pockets and compartments allow Vhalor to keep holocrons, Sith artifacts, ritual items, ancient writings, and anything else he finds convenient without drawing attention.
  • Ritual Garment: The robes were tailor made to allow Vhalor to perform rituals unique to the Drowned Path.

WEAKNESSES

  • Limited Protection: These robes do not provide significant protection. They are not made for heavy armor.
  • Low Kinetic Resistance: Blunt attacks, slugthrowers, punching, stabbing, and similar damage can shred through the robes.
  • Limited Lightsaber Protection: Although potentially capable of catching a grazing strike, an actively targeted attack by a lightsaber will likely get through.
  • No Heavy Armor: To make up for their limited protection, the robes sacrifice any heavy armor that would otherwise slow Vhalor down.
  • Vulnerable to Severe Environments: While the robes can protect against rain and dust storms, prolonged exposure to harsh environments will overwhelm the robes. Heat, cold, radiation, vacuum, and other extreme conditions are not covered.
  • Signature Looks: While hiding his specific appearance, the eccentric occult styling and unique sigil of the Drowned Path can identify Vhalor as a member of the cult.

DESCRIPTION

The robes worn by Darth Vhalor were tailor made to serve as his personal armor of choice. They symbolize his position not only as a Sith warlock but his rank as founder and spiritual leader of *The Drowned Path. *

These robes aren't made to make Darth Vhalor into an impenetrable fortress. They're made to remind him of who he is.

Built from several layers of black armorweave cloth, the outer garment is long and flowy. A thin layer of synth-leather is tightly sewn into the base layers to reinforce commonly targeted areas. Nearly all of the robes is black, save for accents of deep violet, muted silver, and dark crimson.

These colors symbolize the trinity of Vhalor's philosophy. *The Dark Side. The depths. And the blood you'll willingly shed to learn the secrets they keep. *

When standing still, the robe trails nearly to the floor, giving Vhalor a distinct silhouette. The interior layers are reinforced with armorweave allowing them to serve a protective purpose without hindering a warlock's need for movement.

The hood extends far past his head, casting his features in shadow. When brought up, only the glowing eyes beneath the hood can be seen.

Across the inside of the robes are sigils and symbols associated with *The Drowned Path. * Most are designed to be kept hidden from casual observers. Serving as a constant reminder of the tenets of his cult even when the robes otherwise appear bland or unassuming.

Large swathes of black fabric are embroidered with the symbol of the Drowned Path itself. Embroidered onto the under-layer of the robe it depicts the Great Old One, enveloped by the ancient circle symbol representing the boundary between the seen galaxy and *The Deep. *

Some of the sigils hidden across Vhalor's robes are explained, provided that you know the right questions to ask. Others.... are not.

Don't ask him about the crimson stains on his armor. Or why he carries bandages nowhere near sterile enough to actually wrap a wound.
Some, Vhalor claims, are nothing more than religious icons.
Others are warnings.
And a select few were drawn directly from The Tome of the Drowned Star itself.
The robes also feature several hidden pockets and storage compartments. Vhalor uses them to store relics, ritual items, holocrons, pieces of ancient texts, mystical crystals and other knick-knacks he acquires.

The sleeves are intentionally baggy, but reinforced along the forearms to allow unrestricted movement. Darth Vhalor can perform intricate hand motions while performing Sith magic without being hindered by his robes.

The gloves are reinforced as well, and hide additional markings that correspond with ritual gestures specific to the Drowned Path.

The bottom of the robes conceal boots and flexible armorweave to allow Vhalor to move at speed despite his robes dragging along the ground.

His robes may appear to be ceremonial upon first glance, but Vader opted for function over fashion.
Vhalor spends as much time adventuring in ancient ruins and forgotten temples as he does sitting on a thronerecting rituals.
His robes serve a dual purpose.

*To Protect him. *

*To Conceal him. *

*And to Showcase what he's become. *

To the average passerby they're just robes. Dark robes worn by a particularly evil Sith lord.
To an acolyte of the cult, however, his robes tell a different story.

They are the robes of a man who communes with *The Deep. *

They are the robes of the *Deep-Seer. *

The black of the fabric is the endless sea of unknown knowledge.

The violet are whispers of what lies beneath.

The crimson is Vhalor's own blood. The sacrifices he made to gain his new found power.

And woven into the robes, closest to Vhalor's skin...
Is the sigil of his God.

*The Drowned King. *

*The Great Old One waiting in The Deep. *
