APPEARANCE:
Messy, brown hair clings to his typically sweaty face, his mouth twitching as words flow from it. His body movements are erratic, his arms and legs seemingly moving under their own volition. His skin, pallid and stretched, is cold to the touch, should you ever get close enough to him. Vates usually dresses in dark robes that hang over his body, concealing the sickened, malnourished creature within. Only letting his hood down in front of those he deems absolutely worthy, Vates keeps his appearance a private matter.
BIOGRAPHY:
Rumors swirl and dance around the background of the mysterious and enigmatic Darth Vates. The dark cloaked man and his abilities are shrouded in secrecy. When asked, Vates only smiles and lies. He has stated many different origin stories, ranging from him being a clone brought back from before the Plague, to him being the second coming of an Immortal from ancient times. At this point, most give up trying to figure out where he came from, or how long he has been this addled. It is not known if Vates has always been insane or if it is just a complete act.
What is known about Vates is his belief in his title and the fact that he carries a lightsaber. A dark crimson blade, Vates calls himself Darth even though he has not been officially trained by a Sith or dark Jedi. Even still, his abilities are remarkable if not odd. Unable to fully control his force abilities, the few he has, Vates attempts to train himself daily in them. His lightsaber is also an odd feat, as the weapon itself is crudely constructed, with the beam erratically falling out of the hilt. Its obvious the weapon was crafted by Vates himself, and he takes great pride in the weapon.
Many have openly stated that Vates looks older then he claims, his skin taut and his eyes murky and white indicating his age. This may be due to the wear and tear on his body, but others claim he has somehow artificially lengthened his life to astronomical amounts. During his rousing speeches and impassioned sermons, Vates talks like he really was there when the plague officially ran amok throughout the galaxy, and because of this, he has gained followers. Whether this is just passionate charisma at work or powerful dark magic is a point of debate among many.
Vates is passionate about his visions he receives and many call him the Doomsayer. Vates claims that he received a great vision while traveling on the dark moon of Dyspeth, a vision that foretold the destruction of the galaxy itself. Believing it his duty to protect the galaxy itself and its billions of people, Vates has claimed the title of the Prophet and is gathering followers. Vates believes that the constant warring and fighting will lead to more destruction, and the countless killing has destroyed the galaxy prior already. Believing in a supernatural force called the Balance, only special people are called to wield the Balance.
Vates believes the Jedi have twisted the very nature of the Balance, claiming to use it for good when really, they use it for evil and to further their own goals. Vates believes the Sith are a destructive force with no end, only taking what they can get until nothing is left. Other factions are only respective heathens or heretics to the major factions. Fully believing he has come to bring Balance to the galaxy, Vates will go to many lengths to bring others into his ideology, where he hopes to train more of his kind.
