Darth Exter constructed this lightsaber as a part of his Sith training on Exegol. Before building it, he designed most of its parts digitally, and used advanced 3D printing technology to create the parts, including a synthetic red kyber crystal. Notably, it has some transparisteel segments, meaning that the red blade can be seen within the handle itself. He trained almost exclusively in Form II of lightsaber combat, so he designed this saber with a one-handed grip.
When Darth Exter was banished to Hyperspace, his lightsaber went with him. When he discovered the ability of manifesting an avatar in realspace, he managed to figure out how to manifest his lightsaber as a part of it. As this avatar is entirely unable to use the force, this lightsaber is his only tool for combat through his avatar.
