Utilizing the resources of the Sith Empire, Darth Callidus crafted his own lightsaber through Force channeling and intricate adjustments with telekinesis. Not one to delve into the murky and dangerous dark arts, this weapon hasn't been steeped in excessive corruption and despair, like other Sith items, and therefore doesn't give an evil aura. To increase usefulness in various situations, Callidus added [background=transparent]non-dimetris circuitry[/background] components, as well as a locking activator, ensuring his weapon would block cortosis and remain activated when he desired it.
The most prized component, by far, was the rare Ghostfire crystal used for the blade. It took Callidus almost a decade to seek one out, to which he killed the owner and claimed it for himself. Once activated, the colorless blade became near translucent, had barely the faintest glow perceivable to most standard vision and did not thrum but was effectively silent. The innate power of the crystal was realized as using the weapon created an illusory afterimage of Callidus and the saber, making direct combat more difficult for his opponents to focus on his form and movements.
It was the perfect weapon for an Anzat who sought to avoid attention.
Strengths:
- Can cut through many materials with relative ease.
- Allows resistance to cortosis, and instead of shorting out the blade, it blocks.
- Ghostfire crystal provides near invisible blade, near silent activation state, and causes Callidus to appear as an illusory afterimage during combat.
- Some materials, like Phrik and Beskar, are resistant to the blade of a lightsaber.
- Due to the translucent and silent properties of the blade, Callidus must take extreme care to know when his weapon is activated or not.
- Lightsaber blades are weaker at blocking solid projectiles (slug rounds, etc).
- Cannot function underwater.
