STRENGTHS
+Desert Born: Having lived in an arid environment for a large portion of his life, he knows how to survive in such environs. Additonally, this applies to nearly any situation where one needs to conserve water and food.
+Unorthodox Makashi: Asaru prefers the usage of Form II in lightsaber combat, yet he does not follow it strictly. He combines standard Makashi with elements of khopesh swordmanship from his homeworld, giving him an edge over duelists unused to unorthodoxy.
WEAKNESSES
-Abolitionist: Having been born under the whip of slavery, the now emancipated Asaru is a strong voice for anti-slavery legislation within the Sith Empire. This frequently puts him at odds with his fellow Sith, sometimes coming to duels.
-Bigot: In tandem with his hatred of slavery, he holds high levels of anger and prejudice against species who have a strong slaver culture. Namely, he despises Anubians, Zygerrians, and Hutts. Such is his bias that it would make it hard for him to work with individuals of such species.
PERSONALITY
If anything, Asaru is a very polite man to deal with. While a warrior, he abides by a code of honor. Yet, he has his trigger points. Conditions that remind him of his former life as a slave tend to create visible anger in him. He tends to use to the Dark Side to exact pain upon those he deems worthy of such punishment.
BIOGRAPHY
In the desert of Ankhypt, a son was born to a slave mother. He was named Shenoudi, in the slaves' dialect of Ankhyptian, "Slave of the Gods". Such was expected for his life. His mother and him were under the roof of a cruel Anubian master. One who frequently abused and beat both of them. Yet, both mother and son had each other to endure the harshness of their station.
That was, until their master's cruelty overreached. When the boy was ten years of age, their master saw little use for the mother anymore, and sent her to the Priests to be sacrificed to tue gods. Shenoudi protested violently and tearfully as his mother was stripped from him, and for his protest, was locked away in isolation for later punishment in the morning. That night, the boy dreamt dark, hateful nightmares. He saw dark hands extend outwards to his master and strangle him. The next morn, news came that his master died in his sleep, omniously asphyxiated.
When the Priest came to perform funerary rites, he sensed the darkness within Shenoudi, labelling the boy a demon. Rather thab killing him and letting his dark blood spill on their grounds, the boy was sold to Zygerrian slavers. For ten years, he lived on Zygerria as a cupbearer. While not as abusive, he was still disrespected as a slave under their lash.
However, fate changed as a man in dark clothes came to Zygerria and took interest in him. He was surpised when this man wanted him not as a slave but as an apprentice. Over the next fifteen years, he was trained in the ways of the Sith and graduated to the rank of Knight of the Sith. Now reborn as Darth Asaru, the once slave is among the Empire's fierce warriors. With his chains broken, he now seeks set free his peers in slavery.
