  • Weight: 1.2 kg
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Dual Phase
  • Trapped Hilt
  • Force Activated
  • Bifurcating Cyclical-Ignition Pulse
DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Dual Phase: The weapon utilizes a dual phase mechanic to extend the normal, average length blade to nearly twice its length in an instant.
  • Trapped Hilt: When the ignition button is pressed, an energy discharge is released to harm and debilitate the attempted user. This discharge continues until the trap is disarmed properly with the force.
  • Force Activated: The true switch is inside the weapon, accessible only with the Force. The entire ignition stud is a decoy. This prevents anyone unable to use the force from even attempting to wield the weapon.
  • Bifurcating Cyclical-Ignition Pulse: To prevent the weapon from being useless in the event of submersion, the Bifurcating Cyclical-Ignition Pulse utilizes two crystals to prevent the weapon from shorting out.

Strengths:
  • Can be used in water, or survive being submerged in water.
  • The trapped hilt means anyone not able to realize the real mechanism for activation cannot use the weapon.
  • The Force activated ignition means only a force user can activate the weapon.
  • The dual phase mechanic allows the weapon to extend greatly for an impressively long reach
Weaknesses :
  • The weapon will be deactivated when making contact with cortosis
  • The extended form is very difficult to use, and increasingly difficult to wield as the space becomes more and more enclosed.
  • Due to the nature of the weapon's ignition, it cannot be activated while inside a force nullification bubble, though it can be activate before entering and remain so.
DESCRIPTION

Darlyn's personal weapon, his lightsaber, was originally constructed with very minimal guidance from his at the time Sith Master. Beyond the essentials, he was provided only the most basic, bent, rusted, broken pieces of scrap to construct his weapon. Despite this, he found usable, suitable pieces among the spare parts to hold the weapon's essential parts in place, and constructed a sturdy hilt for his weapon. He was able to rely on this weapon, constructed out of spare parts and his father's prized yellow kyber crystal, for the majority of his life, and the yellow blade became a symbol of sorts of his hunter days.

However, after several duels and adventures wherein the weapon was disarmed and used against him, or the weapon was made useless due to submersion in liquid, Darlyn concluded his weapon needed an upgrade. With the assistance of his soon-to-be-king and Master of Commenor's new force order, the weapon's interior was redesigned with several features to further prevent the situations Darlyn had come to dread as a hunter and force user.

The first additions came in the form of the Bifurcation Cyclical-Ignition Pulse (BC-IP) and dual phase mechanics, both of which were added together to figure the most useful spending of the hilt's confined space. A second crystal was installed with the BC-IP to allow the weapon to not only survive submersion in water, but to be able to be ignited while submerged. Though Commenor wasn't a world known for vast lakes or sprawling oceans such as Mannan or Naboo, his tendency to travel and the practicality of the addition was a welcome comfort.

The dual-phase switch was very traditional, added to provide a weapon with great reach. The blade can, with a flick of the switch, extend to nearly twice its length, and provides dramatically increased reach at the cost of making the weapon more difficult to use. In enclosed spaces, such as a hallway, the use of the lengthened form is even more difficult to use effectively.

The last two segments, the trapped grip and force activation ignition were actually utilized together. The weapon's activation stud was re-purposed to a complete, dedicated trap. When the button would be pressed, the weapon would begin to create an electrical discharge, and lock the weapon's blade from activating. The actual method to activate the weapon was the use of the force, activating the switch on the inside. After the trap is initiated, only by use of the force can the discharge be disabled, and the blade ignited again.

The unique disadvantage to this is, if the user were aware of it, the trapped hilt's deactivation mechanism is simple. However, non-force users are completely incapable of deactivating the weapon, and most trapped hilts utilize a knob or switch, and seeing as the weapon is made of spare parts there are may potential candidates.
