Faction Darkwire | Saaaaayyyyy PIZZA!

Everyone knows what pizza is.

Everyone knows what cheese is.

Everyone knows that dads like both, but few know about the secret war between the two. Cheese vs Pizza. You know, that thing you're supposed to say to get your kids to smile at the holo-recorder. Some dads tell you to say cheese, while others like to yell out pizza, and theres probably others who get their kids to yell blaster! or coruscant or something stupid like that. But we are focusing on cheese vs pizza.

Taru's favorite type of pizza was not your normal gooey cheesy greasy slob of bread and cheese and meat, it was bread, cheese, bantha beef and that barbecue sauce that they made in-house at the Oyu'baat back on Mandalore. But Denon wasn't Mandalore, so Misery-Upon-Dream was the place for him to go to get the pies. Two plain cheese of the type that Taru wouldn't eat, two with some meat on em, and a third with veggies. Thats what the gang had ordered, and by using an auto-picker off of the holonet Taru was the chosen one to go pick up the food for the banger party.

Sure the party was with a bunch of cybernetics where even a drop of the fatty grease from a pizza would destroy/harm them, but it was a party nonetheless. And these guys helped him make connections and get some pocket money, which he didn't really need but would never refuse.

The party was in one of those party rooms up in Sakedo Tower, but this one was decked out in toys for the Darkwire agents to play around with while they ate and enjoyed some music and other small party games. After making his way up through the lift up to the room, all the while wishing that he had just used his jetpack instead, he activated the comlink to tell em to let him in. And to accompany that, he gave the door two nice solid whacks as he banged his fist on it to garner some attention from within.

Bang Bang

"Pizza" he said barely holding himself from cracking into uncontrollable laughter

When intoxicated, seeking out greasy food is a great idea. Or so intoxicated people thought. For many, ingesting all that grease was really just vomit inducing. But then drinking was vomit inducing to a point.

This was the cyclical logic Jorj was having trouble processing as he walked into Sakedo Tower. He was most definitely intoxicated when he walked through the sliding glass doors. He could smell the cheese and tomato and garlic and onion and grease from miles away. The scent of pizza reminded his stomach that he hadn't really eaten and his legs just unconsciously followed his stomach. His brain was elsewhere, spending too much time thinking about useless thoughts, spending all brainpower on distracting his heart from feelings he'd rather overwrite with thinking and booze.

And pizza.

The Leporine man stepped into the pizza parlor and stumbled over to a table where a bunch of pies were displayed. Jorj peered at them all judgingly. What savage put meat on top of all these beautiful creations? Destroyed. He finally found one that was covered in veggies and he yanked the whole box from the pizza buffet line and plopped himself at the nearest table and started going to town.

Maybe it was a good thing Aren wasn't much of one to get into drinking. At least, not to the point of getting plastered. One now and then was just fine with the young woman. She had grown up not drinking and didn't need the trouble that came with it. However...pizza, now that was something she could dig.

Not wanting to get left out of the party, she was already in the building when it arrived. Following the scent of the herbs and spices, she opened the door for the guy carrying the pizza.

"Welcome to the party."

Aren had left her droids locked up tonight and was out alone for once. Tonight, hopefully, she wasn't going to get into any form of trouble. Grabbing one of the boxes from the man, she set it on the table and opened it.

"C'mon dig in!"

The old and simple pencil travelled across one page at a time of the blue-framed notebook. She had always liked to read and write. As an orphan, it was impressive even how she had learned to do it without attending school. If you were curious enough, the galaxy could teach you about almost anything you could think of. Old books and holobooks were a common find during her salvage trips, so it was an easy trade to learn.

The music streamed through her headphones with integrated music player. Whatever conversation the others in the room had, she were only aware of their interaction and not what exactly was being said. From the booth that she was cuddled up in, it was what she wanted right now - being sunked into her own thoughts. Denon had offered her and a couple of others quite a ride, being thrown back in time or to another reality the other day. A dream. A drug trip, or something else. She still was not sure what had brought them there. She could still taste her mothers warm pancakes from that morning. Someday. Someday, she would find them.

She wore a simple black sweatshirt and light blue denim trousers. Boyish some might say, but then again what would a dress do for good when venturing across the galaxy? Her blonde hair rested on and slightly past her shoulders. She paused her writing for a second. From the corner of her eye, she saw the door open and the red and black tattooed zabrak arrived with a pile of pizza boxes. It brought a small smile to her lips as she put down the book and the pencil and pulled down the headphones around her neck, before she ventured from the booth to grab her box - a hot steaming circle of pure comfort food. A crust filled with melted cheese, ham, tomato sauce and spicy slices of salami. The spicy smell too much to not cause her mouth to water a little, as this was a luxury not available during her salvage trips from one system to another.

Putting the box down by Aren D'Shade Aren D'Shade s box on the table, opening it, it was already sliced and begging to be eaten. She took a slice with both hands and took a bite of it. This pizza joint certainly knew their craftmanship. It was perfect and it caused her to close her eyes for a second to fully savour the taste.

Lance of Dreams was an organic, this much was true.

However, as easy as it was to believe, the amount of "things" he had become was so great the simple act of eating was often an ordeal. The Iskalloni Cybernetic Surgeon had so much implanted into him he had become more of a machine than a person. Thankfully, he was perfectly okay with this eventuality. Change was the way of life, and through iBorg Lance of Dreams believed he had ascended higher than his people have ever gone with their half-measures and cruelty.

Lance of Dreams was all about full-measures and understanding. Cruelty wasn't in his equation, though he admitted, sometimes in his pursuit of understanding he could get a bit carried away beyond what others may consider being moral or right, and may even venture into the cruel... though never intentionally so.

Some consider what Lance of Dreams to be doing next, to be the forefront of all his mistakes, all his crimes against morality and what was right with the universe.

Sour fruit toppings on a savory dish of cheese, meat, bread, and sauce...

and then throwing it into a blender.

brrrrrrrrrrrrr

The sound of the blender filled the ears of all those present until suddenly they were graced with it stopping.

Lance of Dreams pulled out a straw and started sucking the pineapple pizza slurry.

As per normal for Aren, she wore a sleeveless top that showed off the tattoo she had on her shoulder. It might have been rather crude, but she was happy with the simple design and liked showing it off. Her headset was around her neck, again like normal for her. No music was playing right now though, but her head bobbed to the beat of the music playing the room.

Placing a couple of pieces of pizza on a flimsy plate, the young woman leaned against a wall and stood to eat. She really wasn't much into socializing, but yet here she was. Getting her face known wasn't entirely a bad thing and she sensed she was among friends here...maybe not friends but at least allies. These people weren't out to get her and she could be herself. Letting out a content sigh, she decided to people watch a bit.

One thing she noticed almost right away about the people around her is they were only just a little younger or older than she was. Only one person really stood out as different a much older man...? Aren wasn't entirely sure what exactly he was as she heard the sound of a blender and him reappearing with some sort of drink.

If she had known just what the drink was, she probably would have lost the few bites of pizza she had already taken. As it was, she was blissfully unaware of the contents of his cup.

Not positive just how to go about actually speaking to any of these people, it seemed Aren was tongue-tied or perhaps she was just shy. Either way, nobody was close enough for her to speak to easily.

Jorj watched a fairly cybernetic ... person (?) put pizza in a blender.

...

HRrrrp...

What had begun as a drunken internal debate of the merits of vomiting versus not vomiting in regards to being drunk was immediately put into practice and with very little choice in the matter. Jorj felt some level of regurgitation coming up and knew he needed to seek out a trash can or some other receptacle. He saw one off to a corner, far enough away from the other people enjoying their meals so as, maybe, not to disturb all of them with what would surely be a terrible wretch.

Leaving behind a paper plate with a crust and another mostly finished slice, the Leporine man hurried himself over to the trash can and let loose a rush of bile and not-yet-digested food chunks. He leaned with his forearm between his head and the wall and hovered over the trash for a moment, keeping himself steady. The puking was not a guaranteed thing, but some inherent disgust at the pizza in a blender gave no hope of saving the contents of his stomach. Jorj found himself a little disappointed that the sudden upheaval made him a little less drunk, a little more sober, and rather embarrassed about not holding it together in public.

Having had singular focus before, Jorj didn't notice a woman leaning up against the wall near the can, standing far away from the rest of the group.

Jorj wasn't sure why he felt the need to say something. What need did he have to stand up for himself? Bravado wasn't really his bag. He did feel a little apologetic though, hoping he didn't ruin the woman's meal. "Sorry. Never seen a blended pizza before."

As good or bad as her positioning was in the room when a man that was roughly her age came staggering over to vomit, Aren was witness to it all. Luckily, she didn't lose her own dinner. Kindly holding out a napkin for Jorj to take and try to clean up, she shrugged at the display.

"You should have seen me staggering around at the last party I went to...did you just say blended pizza? Oh, gods."

Placing her plate of pizza on a bookcase next to her, even in his drunken state, he might notice she had paled slightly and almost looked like she was going to get sick too. Taking a few gulps of nothing at all, Aren finally regained the control of her own flopping tummy.

"So that is what was in the blender. No wonder you came over here to do that. Humans huh?"

There were times when she wanted a castiron stomach and this was one of them. Holding a hand out to him though, she kept her few bites down.

"I'm Aren. Nice to meet you."

Pizza.

Hot disk of crisp crust, tangy sauce, melty cheese, and toppings aplenty.

Ruby peeked inside the pizza parlor. She had two very important questions – is this an all you can eat buffet? And is it free? As it turned out, there was quite the spread of pizzas from which to choose. Sliding in, she went over and picked up a plate.

Alright, pepperoni – classic. Ruby gave a small nod of approval. Combo – okay, okay. Yeah, not bad. Ham and pineapple – yeaaaaah, boi. That was a winner. She lifted two slices off the tray and put them on the plate. Next! Moving down the line, she squinted down at one that had little fish arranged on top. No. Gross. Pass. Ruby settled for a couple slices of plain cheese and moved on to grab a soda.

Seating herself – alone as usual... she started to eat.

The pizza really hit the spot. Free meals were rare, they had to be taken advantage of whenever possible. What she needed was a few pieces of plastic... maybe some little bags... to line her pockets with. Her leather jacket was her prized possession and she wasn't about to ruin it for a free meal.

Then again, it might be worth it.

He wanted to blame his social faux pas all on the blender...

So he did. "Yeah... wayyy too gross." Jorj stood back upright and sturdied himself. He stretched his no longer hunched-over-a-can back and let his stomach move back into the proper place in his gut. He was careful not to move his head too much, which still gave him the impression that his brain wasn't held particularly well in place and could jiggle out of his brain fluid if given the right leverage. The Leporine man surmised that his blood was not circulating spectacularly...

Or rather the drunk's blood was circulating just fine but with a mite too much alcohol circulating with the blood.

He ignored that thought. "Jorj," he said simply, pointing to himself. "And likewise..., despite the circumstances." He stepped in between the trash can and the conversation, putting his troubles quite literally behind him. Jorj wasn't adapting to social situations particularly well on Denon. But anything was better than standing right next to a stinking pile of his own not-quite digested stomach contents. "Care to join me at the table? I am suddenly very hungry for some reason."

'Still not here eh?' Kade thought as he looked at the time then around the room. The teen would puff out his cheeks and shake his head. He guessed that his friend wouldn't be able to make it. That wasn't too much of a problem though; there were more than a few people already eating hanging out.

This whole 'being a part of something.' Idea was new to him. He couldn't shake the feeling of being out of place. Though that was probably his nerves getting to him. Kade let it go and made himself a couple slices of pizza. He smiled at the fact that he was able to eat an actual meal. For him it had been a bit longer than he would admit to anyone. Kade looked around nervously for a seat, he didn't want to look like an idiot by just standing around.

The teen's gaze fell upon Ruby Jaxx Ruby Jaxx : a woman who sat alone at a table. Kade made his way over choosing to sit across from her. He placed his play down and offered the woman a smile.

"Hey. Waiting for a friend too?" Kade asked. Obviously trying to break the ice and not feel too out of place.

He grabbed a slice of pizza from his plate and took a bite, it was heaven. Food never tasted so good it was almost overwhelming, he guessed not eating good food would do that to you.

Kade couldn't believe how lucky he was to have found a place to call home.

Ruby shifted uncomfortably, feeling eyes upon her. She never really liked to be the center of attention. If she could, she'd have probably sunk into the booth and become part of the bench she was sitting on. But she glanced up as a teenage boy slid into the seat across from her. She opened her mouth, but he put his plate down before she could say 'take off.'

“Friend?” she canted her head to the side, brow furrowed. “I don't have any friends.”

Not that she knew of, anyways.

“I'm just here for the food,” she added, which was very true. She lifted the slice of pizza for a big bite and an errant piece of pineapple fell onto the front of her white tank, leaving a little red sauce mark. Feth. Looking down at her shirt, she plucked the pineapple bit off and popped it into her mouth. Classy as ever. But she supposed, if this kid was going to sit at her table, she figured she ought to make some kind of conversation at least.

“So, uh,” she started, her mouth already full of another bite. “Did you see any bread sticks over there?” she nodded towards the tables of food.

There was a very noticeable few moments of silence. The woman looked really really uncomfortable. When she finally spoke, a look of confusion. The woman stated that she didn't have any friends, and that she was just at the party for the food. She lifted her piece of pineapple pizza to punctuate her point, taking a sizable bite only to have a piece of pineapple fall off.

Right onto her tank top.

Kade didn't bat an eye as the woman preceeded to pick the fallen piece of food off of her white tank and pop it into her mouth. He was used to that kind of behavior, hell he even did that kind of stuff himself. why waste? Kade gazed at the tomato sauce stain for a bit before raising his eyes to meet the woman's.

To continue the conversation, the woman asked if Kade saw any breadsticks. The teen looked over to where the pizza boxes were and squinted. He had been too fixated on the pizza to even look around for anything else. Kade ran a greasy hand through his hair.

"I'll admit...I may have been too occupied with the idea of getting pizza, to even notice if there was anything else. My bad." Kade smiled sheepishly. The teen would take another bite of his pizza.

"Oh! My name's Kade. Forgot to introduce myself... probably should have.. done that before..I sat down..." Kade said as realization slowly dawned on him; he didnt even ask if he could sit by her.

"My bad." He said with a half-hearted smile.

If he had accepted her hand, she would have steady him. She might be sort of Sith but that didn't make her entirely heartless. At lease, he introduced himself after he appeared to regain some of his composure. In a situation like this, it took both of them a bit of work to accomplish this.

Nodding when he agreed it was nice to meet her as well, he offered for her to join him at a table.

"Yeah, sure!"

Grabbing her discarded plate that still had some pizza left on it, they picked a nearby spot and she led the way to the table.

"You know, I'm a little surprised there is one open. Good thing though, you seem rather dizzy."

Getting sick might have done that to him. Hopefully getting him some food would help him feel better. For just a moment, Aren was at a loss for words. In a way, this was normal for her. Especially when meeting somebody new. And that's exactly what she was doing.

"So...what do you do?"

Such a lame manner to start a conversation, but the question was already out. Letting out a sigh, she searched for a drink and came up dry.

He sat himself down on one of the bench seats in the cafeteria across from Aren. At once he was glad to take the weight off his feet. The pressure of standing dissipated and the blood seemed to start doing the proper thing again. He was less dizzy, less light-headed, less likely to hurl again. But then, not having those physical ailments to distract him started to bring his social anxieties back. Having less alcohol in his system than prior to his ejecting the contents of his stomach did not help either.

Somehow, the awkward silence between he and the girl across from him eased his tensions. Knowing that someone else was having as difficult time as he made him feel better about his inhibitions. A kindred, gawky spirit.

"That's a good question... I... don't really know. On my homeworld I was an artisan. I also did some trapping and a lot of fishing. But none of those things seem particularly useful here. So... I guess I'm without purpose." That all made Jorj less sad than it should have. He had never really cared all too much about his purpose or what he spent his time doing. After all, on his homeworld, he felt so much pressure from his obligations as the lone male in his village that he hadn't really thought about his life goals beyond that implication.

"I guess you could say I'm on an extended vacation." Jorj felt good saying that. It sounded right. He had needed a break from his people. Denon was that break, strange a place as it was. "What about you?"

Ruby merely stared when the kid across the table said he'd been too occupied by the pizza to notice anything else. She craned her neck for a moment, but she could only see the salad bar. Gross. Of course, she could always to see for herself, but that meant getting up and walking over there.

“Oh yeah,” she said, stuffing her face with more pizza. “Ruby,” she said around a mouthful, so that the words sounded more like 'woo-bee.'

After a swallowing, she drummed her fingertips on the table for a moment. Her eyes darted about the pizza parlor, too. Ruby wasn't much of a conversationalist, she wasn't good with words. And she was pretty rude sometimes, too. But maybe this was a chance to... make a friend.

“You with Darkwire, too?”
she asked. Of course, the invitation had been sent out to them... but there was always a chance he was just some guy off the street that happened to end up at the pizza parlor at that exact time. Wow, that'd be lucky, right?

Kade Kade

In a way the two of them were the same. Neither one of them really had a real purpose and couldn't seem to get social niceties down pat. If he was a droid of some kind, Aren wouldn't have any issues. He wasn't. Letting out a slight mental sigh, she listened to what he had to say.

"When I was growing up on Zakuul, I was going to get into some sort of electronics business and even went to college for it. Then the First Order came. There was no way I was going to live under their rule and get brainwashed by them. So I left. Now after a long and winding road, here I am."

Here she had at least some purpose even if she was given a ton of freedom. It was just the way she liked it. She could come and go as she wanted and not be tied down much. Even better, her master had a business on Denon and she had her own rooms within that building.

"Your life sounded nice."

On the chance a person liked nature. Aren wasn't one of them and would rather live on a world full of technology. Denon was probably one of the best places for her.

"Oh, I uh...really don't have a job. I just go and do whatever trips my fancy. Mostly work with cyborgs though."

That was a good way to put things.
