Darkness emerging (Akodya and Nala)

The last ambassador fell to the ground, the lightsaber creating a gash erupting from his back. They had been sent to Tatooine at the request of that fool of a Senator, Khantor Ruu, who intended them to stop a gang uprising, they found instead the Sith Apprentice. They were very easy to defeat as they carried no weapons, intending to deal with the uprising through peaceful negotiations. The plan was going along perfectly, the Senator would begin to worry, hopefully sending a Jedi to investigate. He would then capture them and interrogate them until they revealed the location of an ancient Sith holocron which had recently been excavated by the Jedi on some Outer Rim dust ball. Hadzu'ska lazily rolled over the mangled body of one of the ambassadors to study his handy work, smirking down at the lifeless, gorging eyes. The entire plan though relied on the Jedi showing to up to defend their weak and pitiful comrades. However he was quite confident that they would show up, if he did know anything about the Jedi, he knew that they would arrive to support their friends, which is why the plan would succeed.

He set up camp at an abandoned moisture farm. The farmers must have fled many years ago as all the equipment was caked in rust and grime. He roughly laid the ambassador's bodies around one of the vaporators inside the main hut, activating the emergency beacon on one of their comlinks which would stream directly to the Senator's office warning him of their failure. He then made sure to collapse all the available exits bar one to make sure his prey wouldn't escape, infusing the destroyed structures with sorcery which would cause anything that came in contact with it to immediately boil and blister. With his trap set, he returned to his camp, where he awaited the imminent arrival of his most hated enemy, the Jedi. He slept, dreaming of the Jedi's blood covering his hands while he returned to Sith Academy with their heads. He would finally be acknowledged by the masters. He would have the honour that was earnt by the death of a Jedi.

"Son of a hutt!"

Akodya gawked down at the lifeless bodies of Khan's ambassadors, small creatures already making a meal off their white rotting flesh. The boiling tatooine heat didn't help the awful smell of the decomposing corpses, the unforgettable stench made the young padawan want to bring up her breakfast. Covering her mouth with her scarf, Akodya reluctantly leaned down next to the fallen people to inspect the wounds left behind by their murderer. The burnt flesh around the opening of the large violent gash only confirmed her suspicions.

"A lightsaber did this." She announced, her voice slightly shaking.

A mixture of sadness and guilt began to boil inside Akodya. She could have prevented this if she had arrived here earlier. She needed to notify the senate as soon as she could. The strong desert breeze tugged at Akodya's robes as if to pull her away from this horrific sight, but the damage was already done. Three souls lost...moving into the force before their time. No Jedi would have done this...

"Nala, I think we have a sith on our hands." She said calmly, turning to her best friend and fellow padawan.

Nala looked over the damage herself, almost too much to look at, while saying "Dammit. Of all things to run into out here." She walked away from the bodies, her hood on her head, and said "A part of me really wants o joke and say that maybe the suns on this damn planet did it, but I'm just not in the mood for it." She looked all about the area, asking "If it was a sith where do you think he'd have gone? Not too many places to hide. Unless...maybe underground or something." she quickly checked her feet before moving away from where she was standing.

Hadzu'ska awoke to the sound of a shuttles repulsor engines. My prey has arrived, he thought to himself. It had taken the Jedi three standard days to arrive after the deaths of the ambassadors. During that time Hadzu'ska had been preparing himself, physically and mentally for the imminent battle to come. He would not be thrown into another mindless rage where he would be vulnerable to an attack, not this time. He quickly put on his shirt and gathered his lightsaber, hiding the rest of his gear in an empty cupboard in the main hut. He leaped out of a nearby window, landing silently in the sand outside, he began to scale the farm hut until he reached the roof where he could get a closer look at the new arrivals.

Two figures walked down the boarding ramp, both wearing long cloaks with hoods covering there faces. Hadzu'ska noticed one of the figures to be taller than the other. Probably an alien he told himself. The pair had found the ambassador's rotting corpses by now and seemed to be turning their heads in disgust. How pitiful, he thought, they are so put off by this measly scene?!?! The Jedi were even weaker than he had believed them to be. Their confrontation was getting ever closer, so Hadzu'ska began his breathing exercises to steady himself and help focus his mind on what was about to happen. Reaching out in the force, he extended his awareness towards the Jedi's shuttle, searching the ship until he found what he was looking for, the fuel deposit. He took a deep breath again for focus then pushed outwards, resulting in the deposit bursting spilling the fuel throughout the interior of the ship, eventually reaching the engine where it ignited, causing the shuttle to explode. Hadzu'ska watched as the Jedi's only way of escape burst into flames and fell to pieces around them.

"Come on, Akodya." Nala said. "We should get back t the shi-"

Just then the shuttle exploded, the shockwave of it forcing Nala to shield herself. When all settled she looked back to see if her friend was fin before seeing the wreckage of the vessel. What could have done this? She looked around, not seeing any signs of anyone who'd come or gone. No tracks or bobby-traps of any kind laid around.

"What....what happened?" she asked, still looking. "How did that just...? And I finally got to fly this..." She looked back to Akodya and said "Uh-oh. I...think this may or may not be a trap."

The explosion the burst from the shuttle the two padawans arrived sent a powerful blast through the air, forcing the young woman to shield her face with her arms. Sand and flaming metal was thrown into the air, the thick fumes making Akodya cough. As she peeled her arms away from her face, she turned to see their only means of transport had turned into a huge blazing bonfire.

"Trap, undoubtedly a trap." Akodya confirmed her friend, her hand inching towards the hilt of her lightsaber that hung on her belt. Snatching the weapon she quickly activated it, the emerald green blade humming as it was set a light. Her fingers curled carefully around the grip, her head craning around the moisture farm to try an locate the source of what seemed to be a random fuel leakage. Her heart began to pound against her rib cage like a caged bird thrashing against it's prison.

She could feel...feel a darkness here, something angry and ruthless, something she had never encountered before.

"The Sith, he is still here. Be ready Nala, I sense him. He is near." She whispered under her breath to her tall friend.

Satisfied with the carnage, Hadzu'ska continued to observe the Jedi from his vantage point. He had discovered that the more you learnt from your enemy before battle, the better it could be put to use during the confrontation. He smiled as the Jedi ignited their lightsaber, the fight would soon begin, with Hadzu'ska victorious yet again. He could feel in the force, the Jedi searching for him, he knew when they felt his force presence. How it must have sent fear crawling into their hearts, to know a true Sith was so close. It was time to set his plan in motion.

Again silently leaping off the roof, he landed in the sand. He jumped back through the window and stood in the entrance of the hut, getting a good glimpse of the Jedi. They seemed not to notice him which was good, he wanted to still keep his whereabouts a mystery. Making sure the thermal detonators were securely placed around the last remaining entrance, he hurried over to his hiding spot, a pillar in the entrance hall. Now to get there attention, reaching out in the force, he extended his awareness towards a stack of transparisteel frames leaning against a nearby wall. Gesturing his hand towards himself, the panes of glass fell forward, shattering to pieces and creating a large noise that echoed throughout the farm. With the detonator in one hand and his lightsaber gripped tightly in the other, Hadzu'ska waited, knowing that any second the Jedi would walk through the door way and to their doom.

Nala jumped when he heard the crash before turning and pointing her lightsaber at the doorway. She could see the broken glass nearby and narrowed her eyes and reached out wit the force.

"He's in there." Nala said to her friend. Looking over she gave a silent nod, indicating they'd go in together.

She waited until Akodya was nearby before standing with her. Nala mimicked each of her friend's steps, trying to create the illusion to the sith that only one was approaching. Even though he could likely see him and see the truth she still wanted to stick close to Akodya when they would confront this sith together.

"He is playing with us. He wants us to fear him." She muttered as she walked towards the structure, carefully avoiding the fragments of glass. With Nala shadowing her movements Akodya tried to by careful for her friend's sake, trying to be as quiet as possible. With each step she took, the stronger the feeling of evil became. A violent shiver rushed down her spine, confirming that there was darkness here.

Upon entering the hutt, the two padawans were welcomed with the haunting glow of red and a menacing grin.

"Sith."

A young Sith stood before them, one hand curled around the hilt of his blade and the other held something that resembled a detonator. Without thinking twice Akodya slipped into battle position with her own lightsaber in front of her with a back handed grip. Calling on the living force Akodya focused on the object in his hand, willing it to be ripped from his grasp.

JEDI! There they stood in the entrance way of the hut, just within his reach. His hate for the two Jedi spread throughout his body giving him strength. Adrenaline began to pump it's way through his veins, his body tensed, his senses directed towards the two figures with their lightsabers drawn. The blue and green contrasting against the red of his ignited blade. He felt one of the Jedi call upon the force but couldn't pin point what they were trying to achieve, he was too late to react as the detonator flew out of his hands and landed in the outstretched palm of the human Jedi. A snarl appeared on the lips of Hadzu'ska's face, he didn't want to admit it but these Jedi were smart, but he would still defeat them, savouring his inevitable victory. With his detonator gone, Hadzu'ska called upon his anger and released it in the form of a fork of violet lightning. It arced up, past the Jedi, making contact with one of the thermal detonators, placed above the entrance. The wall exploded, chunks of rock falling towards the Jedi, blocking their last available exit. They had no choice but to fight him. With his blade drawn, he leaped towards them, hoping to take them by surprise after the explosion. Their only hope of escape was to defeat the Sith and Hadzu'ska wasn't about to let that happen.

Nala ducked when the Sith fired the lighting but looked in horror as it went twoards the dennator that was above them. She quickly pushed Akodya out of the way before leaping away from the debris herself. She recovered quickly and stood with her blade still at the ready. This Sith meant busniess and she needed to have every advantage she could in this battle. She removed her long hooded robe and stood with her blade at the ready. When he attacked she blocked his advance and began to fight him, moving hmim away from Akodya long enough for her to recover. At one point thier blades locked and Nala stared eye-to-eye with the sith. She held as brave a face as she could in front of him, despite being nervous as all hell inside.

The taller Jedi, Hadzu'ska recognised as a Kaminoan, was able to catch his crimson blade with her blue one. Caught up in the thrill of battle, Hadzu'ska couldn't help but laugh, the two blades casting a light upon his face making him appear almost maniacal. Remembering the human, he tried to spot the other Jedi, among the dust caused from the recent explosion. He found her still recovering from the blast, vulnerable to an attack. He pushed his blade against the Kaminoan's in an attempt to break their lock, but the Jedi's strength proved to great and the lock remained as firm as ever. Thrusting his palm towards the Kaminoan, he sent a wave of force energy hurtling towards her in an attempt to throw her back.

Akodya glared up from the ground at the Sith, dust getting caught in her eyelashes as she felt for her blade that had fallen from her hands in the blast. Nala had their new enemy occupied so the padawan could get to her feet and regain her balance, her hands clutching her lightsaber once again. Her heart began to pound once she realised the real danger they were in. With the Sith and Jedi stuck in a saber lock, blue and red spat and hissed at the two colors forced for dominance. Within a few seconds the Sith had broke the clash by sending Nala flying across the sand. Akodya's eyes widened before she charged at the man, her back handed grip ready to strike. Holding her open fist out to him as she ran, her fingers slowly curled into a fist as she willed the force to grasp the dark apprentice and in attempt to pull him towards her at alarming speed, before taking a crack at slicing his side. It she could do the same thing Nala did for her, keep him busy while she recovered.

Nala skidded against the sand as she was flung outside. A few moments after recovery and she looked to see @[member="Akodya Mune"] engaging the Sith. She gasped before lighting up her saber again....before realizing it wasn't in her hand anymore. Looking about she found it lying nearby and ran over to pick it up. Feeling the need to be at her best to handle this Sith Nala took off her hooded robe, tossing it aside before running back and trying to attack him from behind while Akodya kept him busy.

Adrenaline pumped through every vein in Hadzu'ska's body, as sweat began to pour out from his skin. He watched as the Kaminoan Jedi was pushed through the wall of the hut and into the scorching desert, however he did not have much time to study her fall, as where one Jedi fell, another would take their place. The human, now running towards him, ignited her blade and gestured her hand towards him. Before the Sith had any time to erect a mental shield, he was being thrown towards the woman, her green blade already swinging towards him. Trusting his instincts and calling upon the Force, Hadzu'ska bent backwards in mid-flight, arcing his back as the blade whisked over his body. The heat from the energy weapon scorched the tips of his loose, messy hair. His danger sense tingled again as he felt the Kaminoan Jedi, already up and recovered, sneaking up behind. In an attempt to regain the upper hand, Hadzu'ska gestured his palms towards the ceiling, using the Force to bring down the already weakened roof in a rain of rock and sand. The ceiling fell on top of them, rocks barely missing him as he nudged the ones away from his body with telekinetic shoves to avoid any harm. "Is that the best you can do Jedi?!?!" he spat, calling out to his foes through the dust and debris around them. His crimson weapon, still ignited, served as a signal, revealing his presence through the thick dust storm.

Akodya had barely enough time to shield herself with her arm as the roof caved in, the sound of screeching metal made her want to cover her ears. Nala was now next to her and unharmed, the Jedi allowed herself a inward sigh if relief. Regaining her composure the Jedi's muscles tensed as she tried to see though the red haze of sand, deactivating her saber for a moment. The burning glow of the Sith's blood colored saber gave away his location. He taunted the padawans with a voice like daggers, the barely suppressed rage shadowed each word in the form of bitter pronunciation. Akodya didn't respond. Moving her free hand in a circular motion Akodya commanded the stones and rusted pieces of metal at her feet to rise and shoot towards the Sith at the speed of blaster fire, her goal was to pelt the figure while he still couldn't see her.

Nala had run into a trap. She didn't have time to react before the rubble had fallen over her and Akodya. She was knocked out when a beam had struck her head and felt the weight of everything over her. By the time she'd recovered she found herself nearly buried and Akodya still fighting the sith. She tried to stand but everything over her was too heavy. She then thought to use her saber but found it was away from her in a corner. Too far to reach. Nala knew what she could do but was worried she might mess up being that she was never that good with the force. Still she had to try. Taking a deep breath she concentrated and reached out for her lightsaber with the force.

The interior of the ruined hut remained silent apart from the ragged breathing of Hadzu'ska. He willingly accepted the short break, building his rage in preparation for the Jedi's imminent counter-strike. A slight breeze brushed against his skin. Hadzu'ska gave no thought towards it as he was to preoccupied by trying to predict his foes next move. Before he could react a large chunk of ceiling was flung into him, knocking the wind out of him as he was thrown into the opposite wall from the collision. Through the dust cloud he could make out the silhouettes of another set of debris. Making his rage known, Hadzu'ska howled, imbuing the Force into his shriek. The resulting shockwave caused the next wave of rock and metal to be flung in the opposite direction, disappearing out into the desert. With his frustration reaching it's peak, Hadzu'ska swiftly motioned his hands upwards, the Force's power sent the lingering dust and debris up through the ceiling, out of the would-be arena. He could now make out both his enemies. Noticing the Kaminoan attempting to retrieve her fallen weapon, Hadzu'ska took advantage of the opportunity. The Apprentice sent a wave of Force energy in the direction of the floating weapon, flinging it further away from the Jedi and breaking her concentration. Before she could react to what was going on, Hadzu'ska leaped towards the weaponless Jedi, calling upon the Force to help him reach the distance. He landed right in front of her, who appeared to be startled by his sudden appearance. Grabbing her by the long neck, he swung her around to face the human woman with his deactivated lightsaber's emitter nozzle resting on her neck. "Yield Jedi" he said, spitting blood from his dusty mouth. "Or would you rather have me murder your friend? Please tell me you'd prefer the latter."

Akodya's eyes widened in panic at the sight of the Sith clutching Nala's slim neck, the emitter of his lightsaber pressed roughly against her chin. She didn't respond to the threat, her gaze quickly morphing into a blazing glare. Her whole body tensed up as he thought about what she should do. The Sith looked at her with a twisted expression on his face, a violent combination for anger, frustration, and unsatisfied blood lust. A pregnant silence well on the ruins as Akodya clenched onto her own saber hilt as she calculated the possible outcomes of this situation. The big one would be the death of Nala, but if she surrenders they would both die without anyone knowing otherwise. The Sith would walk free with blood on his hands. But what if she surrenders her weapon and he kills Nala anyway? She knew this whole thing was one big trap. It looks like she was going to have to take a deadly risk.

Without words, Akodya placed her precious weapon onto the sand to mark her surrender, her eyes not leaving the sight of her friend and the enemy that held her life in his hands. Hesitantly she stood back up again and awaited the could be fatal reaction of the Sith.

Nala had gone stiff when the saber was at her neck. She felt she'd failed and, to be fair, she had. She'd let herself be used as a tool against her friend, a means for the sith to gain a larger upper hand on both of them. She wanted to tell Akodya not to surrender but the fact of a saber at her neck made that impossible. She knew this stih would likely kill her before letting her speak. Within time Akodya made her move, Nala closing her eyes at their defeat. It felt bad, like failing a great test that can change your life forever. And wasn't that the case now? She looked back towards the sith, waiting to see what he'd do.
