Description: The Pirate Lord named Qarai developed a fascination with historical pirates, namely those from planets with large bodies of water. Invariably in the evolution of societies on planets with large bodies of water, it was found that waterways were the fastest mode of transporting goods from one place to another until sufficiently advanced technology became available at inexpensive prices. Likewise, nautical pirates were always a scourge in these environs. The nature of several human/near-human societies’ nautical pirates seemed sufficiently close to each other as to develop a theme. This theme was one that Qarai readily took to, being the theatrical sort.
In his travels, Qarai has met many people with a variety of skills. One of these was a man who made custom firearms for any who could pay. These firearms were mostly standard, firing the normal blaster bolt unless the customer was able to supply the parts for ionic weaponry or maser based weaponry, neither of which the man could produce by himself. Where the man’s artistry thrived, however, was in shaping the gun to the customer’s wishes. For Qarai, this meant an anachronistic design made of hardy Wroshyr wood from Kashyyk, Durasteel, and gold for the inlaid designs. The design had the powercell or gas canister sitting in the pommel of the weapon, the durasteel cap on the end could be removed to reveal the cell/canister for removal or replacing. What had been the firing hammer on the old flintlock design, was now the selector for semi-automatic and fully automatic firing. The masterwork design, when put together completely, was sturdy enough for the weapon to be used in melee combat with little chance of damage to the mechanisms or fuel source, though the wood may dent and the inlay may chip is used in such a way.
