  • Modified AA-1 VerboBrain Processor - Contains a program suite that includes multiple scenarios and combat tactics that are constantly running in the background to aid the Danica series in executing its assigned mission as efficiently as possible.

  • Command Protocols - The Danica series contain a series of protocols to prevent them from turning on friendly forces; as well as a self destruct protocol that would otherwise destroy the unit rather than permitting it to be reprogrammed.

  • Self Destruct Device - Each Danica HRD have a small explosive device installed inside the unit that activates in the event of tampering by an enemy or attempt at reprogramming the unit. This device is powerful enough to destroy a single room and cause damage to adjoining rooms - though is incapable of bringing down a building by itself.

  • Tactical Adaptability - The Danica series is capable of learning from its combat experiences and the tactics enemy units utilize against them.

  • Durability - The Danica series is constructed from materials often utilized in the construction of Starfighters, thus making them a more formidable force than the mass produced B1 Battle Droids utilized by the CIS. They are capable of withstanding fire from nearly all forms of firepower save for the following.
Specialty Slugthrower Rounds - (i.e. Armor Piercing, Explosive)
  • High Yield Blaster Bolts
  • Heavy Ordnance

  • Non-Shielded - EMP and Ion Weapons have proven effective in shutting down the Danica series.

  • Shut-Off Switch - The Diatium power cell is located at the base of the skull; and though a small target, if struck by a well placed blaster bolt of a melee weapon strike, would deprive the unit of power, putting it out of action.

  • "Inhumanity" - Its lack of Positronic Behavioral Programming causes it to come off as cold, and is otherwise incapable of acting "Human". This causes it to lack the capability of understanding "human" based thoughts, or other emotions often associated with being "human".

  • Joint Failure - While these sections are more durable than the predecessor model, they are still vulnerable to damage. The potential loss of limbs could leave the unit at a disadvantage in combat capabilities or otherwise render it incapable of completing its objective.

While considered an updated variant to its predecessor, there is actually very little to differentiate the Danica series from the DX series Human Replica Droids. The primary difference is that the newer Danica series is installed with a self destruct device that activates if there is an attempt made to reprogram a captured unit, as well as a more heavily reinforced torso to ensure that the unit is capable of operating on a battlefield for a longer period. Each unit is likewise installed with an up to date series of combat techniques, tactics and experiences from recent conflicts that the Confederacy of Independent Systems had been engaged.

These units, with their programming and intent to fill a combat role, are capable of being folded into a standing unit without causing any disruption or disturbance. Additionally each specific unit is often programmed to meet a specific need within the unit it is being assigned - with some serving as Combat Medics, Specialist, Mechanics, etc etc.

While they do not have an integrated weapon systems, they are capable of utilizing nearly any weapon placed in their hands due to their programming. However; it is not without its flaws, predominately that the units are not shielded to withstand Ion or EMP based weapons - which are capable of shutting down the unit with a single blast. Additionally its primary power pack is in a rather exposed area, located at the base of the skull, unless the unit is wearing a helmet; it is a relatively easy target, even if small.

Their greatest strength remains their capability of learning from their experiences on a battlefield - with even destroyed units being capable of aiding in this endeavor, as their data can be recovered and shared with other units.

Hey, [member="Amelia von Sorenn"]!

Excellent HRD, with some nice updates from the previous model. Also very clear and thorough application overall. That said, I just wanted to bring up 3 points (2 are optional) that I think need a second look:

  1. Currently the durability sounds very, very powerful. There is a very limited list of damaging items, and the wording ("withstanding fire from nearly all forms of firepower") sounds more appropriate to a less mass-produced model of HRD; my suggestion is to tone it down, or increase the production value.
  2. Optional: Since this is a combat unit, perhaps consider adding a resistances entry, so damage types are more readily available and obvious?
  3. Optional: Due to the reinforced torso region compared to the older model, the weight of the units overall would be higher, perhaps consider increasing it?
Overall, a really solid addition to the CIS line-up, and a nice upgrade.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

  • Resistances (For each category choose from: None, Very Low, Low, Average, High, Very High, Extreme Ratings of High, Very High, and Extreme will need to be added as strengths with elaboration. We recommend using this spreadsheet tool to maintain general balance, but its use is not mandatory.Increasing weight, lowering production levels, or reducing resistances gives more room to increase resistance ratings elsewhere, typically on a one-for-one tradeoff basis.)
- Blasters (And other plasma type weapons): How much protection does the armor provide against this type of damage?
- Kinetic: How much protection does the armor provide against this type of damage?
- Lightsabers: How much protection does the armor provide against this type of damage?
- Slugthrowers: How much protection does the armor provide against this type of damage?
- Ion/EMP: How much protection does the armor provide against this type of damage?
- Other: How much protection does the armor provide against this type of damage? (Examples: Sonic, Elemental, etc. You must disclose each specific type that applies to this submission with its own rating.)
