Private Dance the Night

He recognized it for what it was. The label of "Sith" put on talents he already possessed. The Academy's rigidity beaten by his recusancy. A way to be a Sith without discrediting Calyx Sundrift.

But most importantly, a path forward. Access to the secrets of the dark side. A way to master his murderous instincts, to gain information on the Dyad. It was all within reach. And perhaps, even...

He studied the source of his desire as the waves gently brushed past her.

A genuine ally.

Time would tell whether he could trust her with secrets. But it gave him a sense of security, knowing she'd work toward the same goals, and not as a rival, for once. Then there was the promise of intimacy without commitment. Somebody among the Sith to be close with, without giving up his independence.

Still, something within him clawed for the light. Begged him to mirror Acier's choices.

He smothered it under the alcohol burning in his chest, the desire for Anet, and the step closer to admission among the Sith.

He kicked off his shoes. Dropped his shirt. The water was pleasant, almost more comfortable in its warmth than the night air. "There's worse ways to go, I imagine." He laughed softly, joining her in the moonlight. He laughed softly, joining her in the moonlight. "Please, like I'd offer you the couch after this. That wouldn't be very collegial, now would it." Calyx beckoned, leaned in. "No, Anet. I'll offer you my very best."
