Name: Dajini Beldon
Designation: Non-sentient
Homeworld: Dajin
Language: None
Average height of adults: 100m
Skin color: Orange
Hair color: None
Breathes: Does not require an atmosphere

Strengths:
Fething massive: Dajini beldons are... huge, much like the Space Beldons they evolved from. Starship huge.
Eletrical field: All Beldons generate an eletrical field around them to sense predators, but for unknown reasons Dajini Beldons have developed a paticularly strong electrical field. Strong enough to completely short out electronics, and kill sentients. Due to this, mining the Tibanna gas on Dajin would be extremely difficult without the proper measures taken. Kutaan documentations predict that it would take only a small amount (fourty-fifty, small compared to the usual massive herds) to negitively effect small technologies much the way a average Beldon herd would do, although more then three hundred individuALs at close enough proximity for their electric fields to merge would be able to disable most forms of machinery, including tibanna mining droids and hovering platforms. Direct exposure to a herd this size, without protective suits or gears, are known to greviously injure a Kutaan- and probably kill a human.

Weaknesses:
Brainless: They're basically jellyfish. If you attack them, they won't really do anything. They'll just hover.
Slow moving: They move about as fast as a baby toddles.

Distinctions: The Dajini Beldon looks much like the average space Beldon, a massive air-filled bag trailiing tentacles that secrete acid as well as absorb minerals from stones, metals, and even starship hulls. It's sheer size make it an obstacle, although it's extremely thin skin makes it very easy to kill.

Average Lifespan: 10 GSY
Races: This is a subspecies of the Space Beldon
Estimated Population: 1,000,000 on Dajin only
Communication: None

Technology level: None

General behavior: The Dajini Beldons typically spend their time at the surface of Dajin, their long trailing tenttacles collecting nutrients from the minerals of the planet, while they in turn secrete Tibanna gas into the atmosphere. As Dajini Beldons have no natural predators on Dajin, and are almost never killed by anything other then natural means, they live in amazingly high numbers on the planet, which has transformed it's atmosphere into one comprised of huge amounts of Tibanna gas, despite it's not being a gas giant itself.

History: Dajini Beldons are believed to be evolved from Space Beldons, who made trips to the surface of Dajni from it's upper orbit to feast on it's nutrient rich minerals, only to eventually adapt to live within the atmosphere of the planet itself.

Notable Player-Characters: None
Intent: To provide the reason Dajin's atmosphere is comprised of mostly tibanna gas, and to pouplate the Nidaam system

My, you are prolific in the creation of species. Well, that's what keeps us in business, isn't it? Alright, onward!

So, there's a couple of things.

1) According to the file on the original Beldons, a sufficiently effective field to disrupt electronics, etc, required a herd of them. The electrical field of the Dajini Beldons being 'particularly strong' isn't something I have an issue with, but I would like you to clarify how many of them it takes to...

  • Disrupt electronics.
  • Kill the average human.

It is worth taking into consideration that they are quite a bit smaller than their predecessors.

2) Could you link the species on which this is based into the submission? That'd be great.

That should be all I require. :)

I apologize for taking so long to get to this.

1.) Added to the strength section, about the electrical field
2.) There is no seperate wookieepedia page for space beldons, they are mentioned under the normal beldon page. "Some rare species of beldon could actually survive in space, drifting in interstellar nebulae or gas clouds. They could also consume minerals in small planetoids and asteroids by secreting acid on their tentacles to bore into rock and metal. They were known to even latch onto crippled starships for their mineral content. Like the beldons on Bespin, these "space beldons" also excreted tibanna gas."
3.) I made them a bit larger

Ty for judging. :)
