DESCRIPTION

The CZ-V3 Cirrus Skyfighter is a rather ambitious project undertaken by Czerka Mining and Industrial. With the growth of nations about the Galaxy, coupled with military action becoming commonplace, a concern was raised regarding the defense of a world when faced with invasion from above. As drop pods and dropships are common methods of troop delivery (which are typically escorted by starfighters), the corporation's design teams decided to create a vessel poised to address these potential threats. To this end, the Cirrus Skyfighter was born: a Combat Cloud Car with the heart of a starfighter. With a Classic starfighter design to work with as a basis, Czerka began the development process by combining two types of propulsion: Ion Drive and Repulsorlift. Through this combination, the Cirrus Skyfighter was granted a top speed of Mach 2.5, in addition to a maneuverability that could match the average starfighter. In essence, the Cirrus Skyfighter is a starfighter simply lacking the capacity to exit a planet's atmosphere. However, with a combat ceiling that is several kilometers skyward, the vessel can effectively engage starfighters, dropships, and drop pods at any altitude within a planet's atmosphere.

However, due to the fact that the vessel lacks the components required for exit/re-entry, the Cirrus Skyfighter absolutely cannot leave a planet's atmosphere. Otherwise, it will incinerate; much akin to a meteorite streaking across the heavens. This aside, the vessel has an optional configuration that customers may choose between. The default design of the Skyfighter is such that a single pilot may fit in the cockpit and effectively operate the ship. This setup is complete with emergency countermeasures in the event that the Skyfighter is shot down, such as an ejector seat and a distress beacon. With the default configuration, the potential ingenuity of an organic pilot is in play, thereby allowing for on-the-fly stratagem that an integrated droid brain cannot pull off. On the other hand, the secondary configuration sacrifices the pilot's space and emergency countermeasures in favor of an integrated droid brain. With this setup, the Skyfighter can pull off maneuvers that would normally result in pilot injury due to exposure to ridiculous G-Forces. However, as aforementioned, spontaneous, on-the-fly stratagem cannot be achieved.

This aside, the Cirrus Skyfighter is a durable, reliable vessel that is poised to greatly bolster efforts to defend worlds from invasion from above.

[member="Tyri Lsu"] - A little faster than the other approved combat cloud car, but a touch less maneuverable and unable to survive atmospheric entry. Seems a fair enough trade. Approved pending secondary.
