OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
• Name: Cythrax Cat
• Designation: Non-sentient
• Homeworld: Veradune
• Language: Cat noises
• Average Lifespan: 130 years
• Estimated Population: Planetary
• Description: Amphibious in nature, the long eared Cythrax Cat’s body is made to slip easily through the waters, using its finned tail to steer it while its webbed paws propel it through the water. When threatened or hunting, the creature opens its mouth to reveal a prominent set of venomous fangs which it uses to kill its meals and its threats alike. Similar purposes, there is also a small hole at the back of the tongue, capable of shooting a narrow stream of water with enough force to pierce flesh at up to three meters using the hydraulic needle effect. If one shines a light in the dark by Veradune's waters, it is possible to see the glowing eyes of a Cythrax Cat staring back at them, though this does tend to enrage the cat as it is sensitive to light.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
• Breathes: Type 1, Water and air
• Average height of adults: .76 meters
• Average length of adults: 2 meters
• Skin color: Light Blue
• Hair color: Blues, greys, brows, blacks, white belly
• Distinctions: The Cythrax cat is an amphibious mammal equipped both with lungs and gills which allow it to breath both above and below the water. These creatures are often seen at night via the glowing eyes caused by the photoreceptors which allow them to track their prey more easily in the night. When threatened, they either attack with their venomous fanged jaws, a hydraulic needle stream of water, or their claws.
Young do not possess fangs or hydraulic jets until they are matured(seven months)
• Males sport a set of horns on their foreheads
• Venom: An effective Cardiotoxin, the bite of a Cythrax works to shut down its targets heart. While potent, the Cythrax usually delivers its venom in smaller doses, preferring to keep a reserve of venom for emergencies. As such, most Cythrax bites are survivable if medical attention is received within a few hours of the bite. Should a Cythrax be goaded into delivering a fully lethal bite, the victim may be looking at only a few minutes before their heart shuts down.

[*]Races: No different races
[*]Strengths:
• Venomous bite
• Sharp Claws
• Hydraulic jet in mouth
• Sees well in the dark
• Superb hearing and smell
• Amphibious

[*]Weaknesses:
• Sensitive to bright light
• No natural armor
• Short range on Hydraulic jet (then its just water)
• While amphibious, the Cythrax cat will become sick after a day outside of the water, given it is in a temperate environment. If not hydrated(submersion or a significantly dousing shower) within three days, the Cythrax cat will die from dehydration This time is greatly shortened in hot and dry environments.

CULTURE
• Diet: Carnivore, mostly Fish and Smaller animals
• Communication: Cat Noises
• Technology level: None
• Religion/Beliefs: Fish are tasty
• General behavior: Nocturnal creatures, the Cythrax cat prowls through the night, hunting smaller animals that it quickly kills with its fangs or water jet. When threatened, the Cythrax cat will lower itself to the ground, letting out an angry hiss. If the threat continued to approach, the Cythrax will compress a gland within its belly, unleashing a reservoir of water through a hydraulic jet in the back of its mouth. This jet of water is thin and pressured enough to pierce flesh at up to 3 meters though it is useless against harder materials such as chitin or bone.
• Young: Cythrax Cats give live birth and watch over their young until they are mature enough to live on their own(seven months) at this time, they are pushed away from the adult’s territory since Cythrax live solitary lives.
• While the hydraulic jet is capable of being used in controlled doses, there is only room in the Cythrax's reservoir for it to hold about ten seconds of continuous spray before it must drink more water to refill the reservoir.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Cythrax evolved on Veradune and have lived there for much of their lives. Occasionally domesticated and turned into guard animals for Veran households, it is recommended that their fangs been removed, and that they have access to a large amount of water, such as a large swimming pool. During the Bandit encroachment on Veradune, many of the domestic Cythrax were killed off, but their role stayed mostly the same after things stabilized, mostly being wild hunters, while others became pets. This chain of events repeated itself when the Zorren people retook Veradune.

Unfortunately, Pinterest isn't acceptable as an image source. However, I was able to find the artist's page. Please replace your links.

I'd like to see one more significant weakness to help balance out its strengths.

On the water jet specifically, just to clarify, it can only pierce soft flesh, not anything like thick hides or armor?

If you could add something like a limited use of the water jet attack out of water, then that would be cool. Just a ballpark estimate of how long or how many jets could be produced from one "charge".
