Comatose, the mind focused within her crystal in her chest, reading the memories, and understanding time's past, time's present. Natol'ine's eyes were closed. The legs were not working. The doctors had said... it wasn't good, but with care and attention she'd get better. At least that's what the memories in the crystal said. She couldn't move, couldn't wake...

Memories were put there as they happened around her. Recorded in it's shards and her personality, she saw them coming real, even in her coma, she saw the world's reflections looking back at her as they happened. The young petite kiffar girl could see it all happening to her, but not do anything about it, the droids, the doctors all of it. Even beginning to feel the pains of her body, or the memories of them, echoes. Ripped red dress cast to her side, in a patient gown, her bruises were beginning to heal, the cuts would take time, but the legs and the spine, that was a different story. She may never walk again, not in the same way, she was slowly realising it and what it would mean.

She'd never dance again. Never run again... Never play pranks on people again, never go up to a bar and just... well what would life be now, without everything she loved in it? If she could cry she would, but she could only watch herself cry, detached from it all, would she ever escape back to the world?

Juthan watched the doctors work, not even sure why he was here. He went to the place that the Jedi knew he would be at and took it upon himself to make sure Circe had been truthful. Which she was. But that wasn't right, there had to be some ulterer motive to helping this girl, this Jedi. But what was it, it itched for an answer and he no longer kept silent, looking at @[member="Circe Savan"]. "What do you get out of this, you are not an ally of the Jedi and we both know that. What motive do you have for helping her?"

"I'm a medical specialist, genius. Do you really think I'm going to let a helpless person die? I'd do the same for anyone, Jedi or Sith. Gods, you're so assuming! Do you really think that every Darksider has an ulterior motive when they do a good deed?"

Paying astute attention to her injuries, she raised an eyebrow. "I think I know what we can do for her. The muscles in her legs are repairable... but almost all of her bones were crushed. I have an experimental surgery that I believe will help her return."

@[member="Juthan'Athar"] @[member="Natol'ine"] @[member="Yusan Fenn"]

"Thats good." Yusan stepped into the room and walked over beside Circe and Juthan, his glanced shifting between the two of them before clicking three times with his mouth. After a moment of shook Juthan shook his head and left without a single word and closed the door behind him. "Miss Circe Savan, how are you handling yourself? Those Jedi didnt cause you any pain did they miss." He grinned as he stood there with his arms crossed behind him, there was a knowing in his eyes, and it was easy to tell he knew exactly what had happened. His saber was clipped at his side and he was in normal civilian clothes. He had also somehow made it into this part of the ward without a single notification or warning. @[member="Circe Savan"]

"Senator Fenn. How nice of you to join us. Particularly considering that you evidently incapacitated most or all of this facility's staff to reach this part of my laboratory. I suppose we all have secrets, don't we - one being that you're far more than you originally appear to be." Crossing her arms, she smirked, eying the Echani over. "There's an experimental procedure I believe that can be tried with @[member="Natol'ine"]. I still have a significant cache of crystals. Various types, too large to be used in a lightsaber, but still of the same grade. I intend to replace her bones - not just the ones damaged beyond repair, but all of them - with these carefully carved crystals, shaped to perfectly mimic her natural bone structure. She will become a living, breathing lightsaber crystal, the perfect hybrid between carbon and silicon life forms."

Of course, she had no idea that doing so would attract more crystal guardians.

@[member="Yusan Fenn"]

"Thats possible?" He looked at Circe as she explained that shocked for the most part at that. A living breathing embodiment of the force... no that wasnt why he was here and not important. "And the crystal thats in her, you are leaving that in her to have her remain a target of assassins like the one that tried to ram into you?" His stare remained on circe as he waited for a response. He expected two. One being that the Sith would remove it and take it for herself, or that the Sith would remove it and give it to her superiors. He has a mistrust for force users, an irony but a justified one. After what had been done to his family he was plenty prepared for Circe to have selfish actions. @[member="Circe Savan"]@[member="Natol'ine"]

"I thought I sensed something inside her. I had no idea it was a crystal, though... Which means you know something and you aren't telling me." She was beginning to slowly build up Force energy, for use as an attack if this senator cum rogue attempted to harm her or her patient. "Explain. Let me guess... this Void person Juthan was referring to is you." Her eyebrow raised as she shifted, a droid moving @[member="Natol'ine"] towards the room where the crystalline replacement would begin.

@[member="Yusan Fenn"]

"How many cameras and listening devices are in the room by chance?" He didnt answer her on either note, waiting for her to answer his simple question. His eyes flicking back from the patient to Circe and back again as he also scanned the room in those shifting glances. He wasnt that stupid nor did her not already see a few and no doubt there were hidden cameras somewhere in the facility. @[member="Circe Savan"]

"None have been installed in the laboratory." Once again, she was telling the truth. "Now, please answer the question, before I bring in this floor's security." And she did intend to do so.

Meanwhile, @[member="Natol'ine"] was being heavily sedated, in preparation for her extraordinarily complicated surgery. There wasn't much else to do or say.

@[member="Yusan Fenn"]

"I may be the one, what exactly makes you think that i am though? Void isnt exactly a people person and all you could know is i could be another one of his agents in the field like Juthan is." He watched the surgery carefully before prompting his own question. "And you never answered my question Miss Savan, i do believe i asked what you planned to do with the Crystal in her chest?" @[member="Circe Savan"]

"Likely keep it there. It hasn't caused her an issue thus far. And who knows how her new crystalline skeleton will react with them?" After all, if that was the case, this experimental surgery could potentially have much greater repercussions in the positive. She could become a living battery of the Force, crystalline storage for the mystical energies that fueled the powers of the Jedi and Sith.

Perhaps this was quite the curious construct.

@[member="Yusan Fenn"] @[member="Natol'ine"]

"You sound like your enjoying the thought that anything could happen including something bad." He watched the surgery intently now as it was going on, he hadnt wanted to see the woman hurt, he only wanted the stone hid and to make sure this sith never came back. But now Circe mucked that up, and for the better. With these new enhancements the girl might stand a much better chance at survival. @[member="Circe Savan"]

"No... I'm hoping that this changes her for the better. If for the worse, then there'll be some issues." She sighed, watching as the droids worked on replacing @[member="Natol'ine"]'s bones with the crystalline replacements. "Well, Void, what do you want with the crystal lodged in her chest? Some Sith scheme? A shadow organization dedicated to eliminating the Dark Side? There's no recording equipment here, so speak your mind."

@[member="Yusan Fenn"]

"I was planning to throw it in the Maw and wait for some dumb assassin to show up and try to rescue it. Then blow him to pieces when he tries to retrieve the Crystal from the black hole. Its a rather simple and slightly dark plan." His eyes shifted to Circe at the use of the word Void. "And my name is Yusan Fenn, not Void, understood miss Savan?" @[member="Circe Savan"]

"I'd rather leave it in her. With her crystalline powers, I doubt anyone will attempt to take it from her anytime soon. Besides, she could use training to adequately suit her new abilities." She thought to herself. "Abilities of being a power battery... Hmph. That's an interesting idea. A living Force power battery to help power my work. Interesting..."

@[member="Yusan Fenn"]

"Her new abilities would be exactly? What if her connection to the force is improved too far or she loses said connection all together, i dont think this is a good idea without waiting for her to wake. As for leaving the crystal in her the effects could be catastrophic if it was a malevolent creation. Not to mention wont this bring greater attention to her by having these extra Crystals in her. I just really dont think its a good idea." His eyes shifted between @[member="Circe Savan"] and @[member="Natol'ine"], if this surgery did fail it would be harder on the girl when she woke up, and if it succeeded only time would tell what would happen.

"How can I best put this... The crystals are, for better lack of term, a Force battery. They are imbued with the Force and can store it like a Diatium power cell stores energy. I don't know how her connection to the Force could be improved too far, but I do know she won't lose it - not while she still lives. As for the risk of the shard being malevolent - I've seen no evidence of it so far. And if someone from this 'assassin's' locals up attempt to attack her, she'll be more than ready... As will I."

The surgery was almost complete. In a few short minutes, @[member="Natol'ine"] would be finally set. She would require physical rehabilitation to help strengthen her newly mended legs, but she would be able to walk again.

@[member="Yusan Fenn"]

Yusan watched the operation carefully and even more so when Circe said that it had been concluded. He was interested from a scientific standpoint but this was not the place for it, this girl still had that main crystal in her meaning she was still a target and that was something he didnt think anyone should be. Crossing his hands behind his back he watched silently and waited. @[member="Circe Savan"]

This was after discussion with an RPJ about crystal skeletons or liquid crystal fluid not being plausible. So we went with grafting externally.

The crystal wasn't holding, the skeleton couldn't be replaced, the bodily fluids rejected the intrusion of liquid crystal, antibodies fought the surgery every step of the way. The crystal inside of her only contributing to that, any attempts to remove or counter the crystal caused a stirring of the force around the girl, as if the force itself was fighting with antibodies of its own.

Thankfully there was some success with grafting shards and such like into place to support Nato's legs, externally to reinforce the spine where it counted with crystaline gel, harder crystal and also liquid to patch it up. Anything mechanical was rejected quite harshly, causing severe reactions. Skin was reinforced with crystal instead at several small pin like points down the spine, it wasn't pretty to look at but the strong rejection of the initial internal surgery, only left this option. Mechanical implants were rejected in the same way, because anything artificial which would hinder Nato's development was being fought by her body, caused by what was in her chest. It only allowed instead things that it saw as strengthening its hold over the girl, her mind and body, seizing the opportunity to make her a living host.

Crystal tears, nato's eyes would always carry a tint of crystal liquid in them, you could see the droplets and their rainbow colors so much pain, she could see it all and do nothing about it but cry, that was all she had left, the last reminder of a young girl. Until she finally opened her eyes, a multitude of small force crystals, a cluster on her back and legs. But just who opened her eyes, not the once loving girl, the crystal's personality opened her eyes, memories, history, empathy.

Inside was Nato, inside those crystals her mind stayed watching, trapped.

"What time is this?" A very strange question to ask, but that was what had hold of her, could she fight it? Maybe with their help. Her hand twitched, it pressed against the glass, Nato pushing it, pleading with them in the force, in her prison. She so wanted to get out, it was dark here now.
