Description: When Kian Karr took Jedi Masters Corvus Raaf and Kana Truden to his homeworld of Dorin he shared with them the story of his family and how he had lost his wife and child when he was a young man. They remain the only people to know this with the exception of the Baran Do. Following their trip to Dorin, Kian, Corvus, and Kana discovered the crash site of Jedi Master Plo Koon and an archaeological dig there revealed the damaged lightsaber of the Kel Dor Jedi Master of old. On his own, Kian repaired the lightsaber but was unable to do anything with the shattered shards of the blue lightsaber crystal.
Kian, unbeknownst to his two friends and with the help of the Baran Do sages, refitted the shattered pieces of lightsaber crystal into two identical amulets. On the back of both amulets were inscribed, in Kel Dor, “Sorrow is a part of life as well as joy. There are gifts to be found, even in death and sorrow…strange gifts. We accept this, we learn, and we go on” It was a quote from Jedi Master Plo Koon and one that had helped Kian through many of the losses in his life. On the front was the symbol of the Jedi Order surrounded by the small blue lightsaber crystal shards.
The amulet themselves are carved from the Zand tree which is native to Dorin and used as a building material. The strap of the amulet is made from the tanned hide of a Eerm, which is a dangerous serpent that is also native to Dorin. The lightsaber crystal shards that are imbedded into the wood could not be reforged to form a functioning lightsaber crystal, however as they are force attuned crystals they aid in reaching a calm, thoughtful contemplation during meditation.
